"...Where am I?"
Was the unspoken question of mine as I walked through a barren wasteland.
A very familiar wasteland.
"Why am I here... again?"
I questioned no one but the reality itself.
As far as my eyes could see, all that is in front of me are the crumbling annals of history itself, lost and forgotten through time and fate.
And I hated how I can still remember every single detail of this place.
I hate it so much, the memory I wanted to forget so badly.
Yet this reality is making me look at a picture, a window through time.
Without knowing, I shut my eyes in hopes to block out the sight of this desolate land.
Before I felt something pulsate within my body.
Pulsating like my heart until it floated out of my chest, shining brightly yet dimming.
It is an object which I had possessed ever since my birth with it's glow ever piercing through the darkness in front of me, acting as a guide.
But now, it's dimming, alarmed and curious, I followed it.
It floated through the land like a firefly, illuminating my path as I ignored the area around me.
It floated on and on and on.
Continuously.
Aimlessly.
Silently.
Before falling onto the ground and onto a puddle of dark water, its light was all gone.
What purpose did that serve?
It is a question I want to know but keeping my possession safe comes first.
I leaned down towards the puddle where it sat before taking hold of it.
Only for another hand to take hold of my wrist.
"?!"
I didn't have time to register what happened before I was dragged into the puddle, hitting nothing but water as if a trench was hidden in plain sight.
I held my breath on instinct as the dark water swirled around me, there was nothing but the perpetual darkness and shadow surrounding my vision.
I still held onto my possession tightly but the hand that gripped onto mine did not relent as I was pulled down deeper into the abyss.
However, I did not expect a sinisterly familiar voice.
"Why do you reject this power?"
"What?"
"Why did you betray us?"
"...No..."
"Why did you forsake your birthright?"
"Get out of my head..."
"You could have reshaped the world."
"Shut up..."
"Yet you ran away, like a coward."
"I said shut up..."
"You left us behind, left your true legacy behind."
"SHUT UP!"
With a unheard roar, I threw forward my fist and towards the unseen owner of the hand in front of me.
My hand came in contact with something hard like armour before the hand gripping onto me let go and everything returned to normal.
However, now I stand in front of a dark haze that seemingly enveloped everything around it.
"How weak... to think we are the same person... disgusting."
"Who are you?!"
"Me? Perhaps your intellect has also deteriorated."
The haze around me and the voice soon began to fade away before a surge of darkness erupted in front of me, forcing me to cover my eyes.
The winds seemingly ripped across my body as I continued blocking my face from the dark gale before it soon died down, allowing me to look forward to the voice.
However, that proved to be a mistake.
A mistake which I did not want to see again.
Not ever in a million years or more.
Why?
Why now?
Why am I looking at a mirror?!
"You asked who I am..."

.
"The answer is easy."

.
.
.
.
.
"I am thou... thou art I."
