Liam" Come on William let him sleep some of us are tired from weeks of training

Lincoln" Very good point.

Papa Wheelie " Yeah when can we go to Germany so that in the future we can tell our grandchildren that we captured Hitler all by ourselves

Lincoln just went out of the tent to get some fresh air

There he witness soilders marching some were playing with a football some were in line

All of a sudden a willys jeep rolls up to Lincolns tent

Out cam a soilder this soilder wore dress cap on was a gold bar he was a Second Lieutenant it was Second Lieutenant Cody

William" must be something big going on.

Lincoln" most likely.

Papa wheelie " maby we will see some action finally.

William" come on Lincoln Lets see what the General has in store for us

Lincoln" right then.

Soon

Both William and Lincoln took there seats

Major General Clarence R. Huebner appears men what your about to see comes from General Eisenhower sit up straight no talking and pay close attention

Soon the screen came on

General Dwight Eisenhower" ( voice )Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!

You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hope and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is will trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!

I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!

Good luck! And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

Soon it screen shuts off

Major General Clarence R Huebner" men the patch you have on your represents to the First Infantry Division the reason why were called the First in World War 1 we were the First to hold off a German Attack the First the First to launch a Counteroffensive and the First to cross the Rhine nothing has ever stopped us Nothing ever will Major tell them what were all about

Major Robert F. Evans" no Mission too difficult yes sacrifice too great Duty first.

Major General Clarence R. Huebner " I can't hear you

Major" Robert F. Evans ( louder ) no Mission too difficult yes sacrifice too great Duty first.

Major General Clarence R. Huebner " that's rigth now our mission is the invasion of Normany the British will assault Gold Beach and Sword Beach and the Canadians will take Juno Beach and we the US Army will take Omaha and Utah beach's we the First will take Omaha Beach

The screen shows a map of Omaha Beach

Major General Clarence R. Huebner " now the kruats have a foritified wall overlooking ths beach belived to have artillery emplacements pill boxes Machine Gun Nest Anti tanks obstacles possible mine fields and large garrison are job we along with other units will storm the beach along with tanks the Airbone will jump into the Normandy to destroy large artillery emplacements that house guns that could fire large shells into the beach if that happens there will be many casualties and the mission will be a failure if the storm the beach well move inland and we will not stop until we reach berlin.

Fellow soilders look at each other.

After an hour class was dismissed.

Both Lincoln and William got up from there seats and walked out

Lincoln" looks like were gonna see some action after all.

William" yep just what wheelie wanted.
