Trigger Warning: Strong language, mentions of past torture, mentions of yelling

Tony was in his lab working on some new equipment for the team. New arrows for Clint, more durable knives for Nat, along with better guns for her. Tony was working on making a new and better shield for Steve, but without the vibranium, Tony wasn't sure what he was going to do. He was working on new explosive arrows for Clint when there was a large rumble throughout the tower.

Grabbing his suit, Tony left his lab and went to the balcony outside of the main gathering area for the Avengers. A man was laying on the balcony unconscious. Tony got a good look at the man and was surprised to see who it was. He got closer to the man but kept his blasters aimed at the figure.

"Jarvis, vitals."

"All good sir. Though I would point out that he is very injured."

As Tony got closer to try and see the damage to the man, the team, minus Thor, exited the elevator. Clint held his arrow steady when he saw the man. Nat only looked at him trying to see if she needed to take him off to the side. Steve and Bruce just watched Tony approach the man.

"Stark, we don't know if.."

"No shit, Sherlock," Tony cut off Steve, "Reindeer Games? What are you doing here?"

Tony went to grab Loki's wrist, when he barely touched the god, Loki woke and grabbed him. Steve was about to step in when Tony held up his other hand to stop him. Tony took his helmet off to show Loki who it was. The look Loki had before seeing who it was hit Tony closer to home than it should have.

After Loki realized where he was, he let go of Tony and slowly backed away from the group. Something was off with him, and at the moment Tony was the only one who could see it. Clint was blinded by hatred for what happened in New York. Nat was only trying to keep Clint calm believing that Tony knew what he was doing. Bruce had left to stop the other guy out, which both Tony and Loki were grateful for. Steve was the only one who hadn't done anything to show how he felt about the situation.

"Tony, what do you think is going on? He doesn't seem the same as he was last year." Steve wondered.

Tony was about to answer when Loki went towards Steve. Getting up quickly, he stood between the two men protecting them both. He looked at Loki trying to hold his attention to decipher what was going on with the raven-haired man. Knowing only one way to get Loki inside before anyone knew he was around, Tony shot him with a tranquilizer. As Loki fell unconscious, his green eyes looked deep into Tony's hazel ones.

After getting Loki into the infirmary, Tony gathered the team in the main area to discuss what the plan was for the god. Clint and Nat were both for sending Loki to Fury immediately to pay for what happened, Tony and Bruce both wanted to see what had happened to make Loki freak out as he did. Steve had the deciding vote. He wanted to know what happened, but he also wanted to cover their asses in case someone had told Fury. Tony knew they were going to have to do something that limited Loki's magic to keep him at the tower to make sure he was recovering.

"Bruce, do you still have the specs from those cuffs Thor had last year? If we can remake them before Rock of Ages wakes up his powers would be limited for a bit."

"Tony, it would take me years to craft them correctly, unless you already have an idea on how to get them on him without it looking like cuffs?" Bruce asked accusingly.

Tony looked offended by the question, but he did have an idea. He dragged Bruce down to the lab, which was close enough to the infirmary in case Loki woke up before they were ready. Showing Bruce the designs for magic suppressing bracelets, Tony got to work on what they could use for the bracelets that didn't make it obvious what they were being used for. He found some of Loki's armour and thought about using it for the bracelets.

It took less time than Bruce thought because they used material from Asgard or Assgard as Tony called it, for the bracelets. They finished just as Loki's form began to stir from what looked like a nightmare. Tony didn't even think about grabbing the cuffs before going to check on said god. When he got there, Loki had woken up fully sweating. Slowly approaching, Tony held out his hand to show that he was just there to check on him. Loki still hadn't spoken, but Tony wasn't worried about that. What he was worried about was what he was going to do about the others when they found out what happened to Loki. Tony only knew what might have happened based on Loki's reactions and what his face was hiding.

"Hey Reindeer Games. Listen, I need to know what happened to you so I can help. But before I can I have to put something on your wrists. The others are fans of you being here. I'm just curious about why you landed on my balcony of all places."

"What are you doing Stark? Why are you acting as if you care? No one cares about me, I'm just a monster."

This all but shocked Tony. He knew about Loki's past with his family, but this went beyond any family issues. Before Tony could explain or ask any questions, Bruce entered with the bracelets. Loki stiffened when he saw Bruce, probably afraid of The Hulk coming out. Tony forced Loki's attention to him as Bruce handed the cuffs. He explained that what they were doing to keep him calm and that he wasn't going to freak out when they explained that the bracelets were to suppress his magic.

Loki's eyes followed the movement of the two men. Knowing that this was the only way he was going to be safe from people who would try to harm him in any way, Loki allowed them to place the restraints on him. Though he was surprised that they didn't look like handcuffs. Once they were on his wrists, Loki seemed to sense that they were made from the finest Asgardian leather (yes I had to). He looked to Tony with a confused look, just as Tony explained that he had to take some of his armour off to make sure that he had been bleeding and to check for injuries.

It was at that moment that Loki looked down and saw that he wasn't wearing his armour, but a shirt with what he considered to be an odd design, given that it was Tony's AC/DC shirt, and his leather pants. Knowing that neither scientist wanted to take his pants off made the situation at least a little bit easier to handle. Loki was still cautious of Bruce, knowing the truth behind the man, he seemed like he was slowly calming down around him.

The three men were interrupted by Clint rushing in to tell them that Fury was there wanting to know what was going on. Clint's voice did little to hide how angry and afraid he was. Whether the fear was towards Loki or Fury only Clint, and probably Nat, knew. Tony held his hand for Loki to take so he would have something to ground him while they talked to Fury about what they were going to do with the god.

"Listen Loki, I know that there are things you don't want to talk about, but if it keeps you from being through in a cell alone with your thoughts, I suggest telling us. I know what it is like to go through something traumatic and return to a world you no longer understand. If I hadn't gone through any of that, I wouldn't be this and I would probably still be dealing in weapons without my knowledge." Tony tried to calm Loki with his words.

"Stark you know nothing of traumatic. Asgard isn't known for taking traitors lightly, even when they were raised to believe one thing but learn that is all a lie."

"I'm only trying to say I know what being tortured is like. I may not have the same experience that you had, but being water boarded and having the person who saved me threaten until I agree to build a missile wasn't the best thing in the world for me."

With that, Tony let Loki's hand go and walked a little bit ahead of the god. Once they had gotten to the conference room where Fury had decided was the best place for this conversation, Loki only stood in the doorway. Bruce told him to enter and sit down. Though Loki wouldn't admit this, he was still very weak from what happened in his cell before he fell to Earth. He still wasn't sure how, but he knew it was for a reason. Fury was the first to speak about the situation.

"What are you thinking taking him in? I thought you all would have called me to take care of it."

"Fury, Loki was injured and we were sure how he got here. We thought we could better control the situation here. Bruce and I created magic suppressing bracelets for him to wear until we can figure out what happened. We were about to call you and tell you about the situation but I'm guessing Natasha called you."

Nat only shrugged. Fury continued to yell at the team until Tony looked at Loki. He noticed that the raven-haired man was trying not to show how the yelling and screaming of everyone was causing him to flinch slightly. Tony put his hand on Loki's shoulder. Though he was angry with the god for invalidating his own past, he knew what he needed in a triggering situation like this. At the action Fury seemed to pick up on what might have happened to cause the god to act unlike he had a year prior. Deciding that it was best for everyone if Loki stayed at the tower, Fury told them if he got out of hand he would be taken into S.H.I.E.L.D, custody immediately. He also said that whenever Thor returned he wanted to ask the thunderer a few questions about what happened to Loki being in a cell.

Everyone but Clint seemed relieved that they weren't having to send Loki away, they all knew that someone was going to have to stay with him for the time being. Clint asked to take the first shift in watching Loki. Nat was the first to protest this, but Loki agreed knowing the reasons behind the archer's request. He wanted to talk to the archer about what happened a year ago.

This is the first time I'm actually writing a Frostiron fanfiction so if anyone seems out of it sorry. I'm pulling personalities from the movies, other fics I've read, and my own thoughts of how these characters act. I am using the Loki was tortured by Thanos and was mind-controlled like Clint during the first Avengers movie. Also, this takes place just after the winter soldier and before Thor: The Dark World. So we may have Frigga appear or we may not, I haven't decided. There will be trigger warnings at the beginning of every chapter because I liked seeing that in the many fics I read by GayRainbowBridge on Wattpad. They write some amazing stuff, if you like pain. And thanks for reading the first chapter.
