Chapter 1
Nightfall was rather interesting for Zootopia. While most mammals would sleep at this time, others are a lot more active than during the day. Part of this was because of the fact that there were many nocturnal mammals living in Zootopia. However, the rest were simply more active because of their careers, or life choices. This was especially the case for a young lynx named Zeke who was currently hiding out in an alley.
Sheltering himself from the rainfall, Zeke pulled out his phone, and frantically called someone. It was clear that he was afraid for his life though there was good reason behind it. What most didn't know was that he actually worked for the notorious crime boss known as Mr. Big. And currently, he was avoiding coming across two of his closest associates. They were perhaps the two most dangerous mammals in the criminal underworld, and he was on their radar.
As soon as the person on the other line answered, he started talking, "Hey it's me. Listen, they're onto me. I need help."
The response he got only made him angry, "What do you mean no? What more could you want?"
The answer he received was no better, "Are you out of your mind? If I go back now they'll kill me."
It was clear that the voice on the other line was insistent, "I've done everything you asked. We had a deal. And I need you to…"
The line disconnected before he finished his sentence. And unfortunately it wasn't because the person in the other end had hung up on him. His suspicions were only confirmed when he noticed a familiar black limo drive up. All he could do now was hope that they hadn't learned what he did. He did feel a little relief when he saw who got out of the limo to greet him but it didn't allow him to relax at all.
He watched as Kevin got out of the limo to greet him, "Hey Zeke. Need a ride?"
Zeke felt his heart beat faster as he nervously replied, "Uh no thanks Kevin. I'm good."
"Come on buddy," Kevin said more insistently, "Get in. We'll take you home."
Zeke wanted to refuse so badly. But he knew that saying no wasn't an option at this point. Not like he's be able to turn down a giant polar bear like Kevin to begin with. So all he could do was nod as he got in the long car. When he saw who the other passengers were, his heart sank past the floor.
Inside the limo with him were Nick and Judy, the two most dangerous mammals on this planet. Aside from Koslov, they were actually the highest ranking members of Mr. Big's mafia. They were feared by everyone in the criminal underworld, and have earned a great deal of respect from their enemies. They were feared by everyone in the criminal underworld, and have earned a great deal of respect from their worst enemies. Anyone who crossed their path in a bad way never lived long enough to tell the tales. And he could just feel that he was next up on that list.
He took a seat which ended up being within arm's reach of both of them. Nick on the left was simply taking a drink from his glass of whiskey, careful not to get any on his black suit, while Judy on the right was on her phone with her legs crossed so her red dress wouldn't be wrinkled. And neither one chose to say a word as the car began moving. All he could do was quiver in fear as Judy slowly turned her attention to him. She put her phone away in her purse, and said, "You seem tense Zeke. Come over here. We don't bite."
Zeke quickly tried to plead for mercy, "Mrs. Wilde, I can explain."
"You're welcome to call me Judy," the rabbit interrupted briefly.
Zeke nodded, and proceeded to speak, "Of course. Listen, it was a huge mistake. I promise it will never happen again."
Just as the lynx finished talking again, he watched Judy grab something next to her. In her left hand was two drinking glasses while her right hand had some kind of alcoholic drink. She poured the alcohol into both glasses before having the bear sitting next to her put the cork back on the bottle. She then grabbed one glass with her free hand and handed the other glass to the lynx, saying, "Here Zeke. Have a drink."
Knowing that he didn't know what was in the glass, he tried to calmly refuse, "No thank you. It's okay. I'm not thirsty."
This was when Nick glared at him angrily, "Are you insulting my wife right now Zeke?"
"No sir. Never," Zeke immediately replied as he felt his heart drop to the floor.
"Then take the drink," Nick commanded sternly.
"Yes sir," Zeke said as he grabbed the glass gingerly from Judy's hand. Once he saw her take a drink from the glass that was still in her hand, he followed the order, and grabbed the drink. He hesitantly took a drink from the glass, and settled a little more when he didn't taste anything funny from it. However, he still had Nick eyeing him every now and then. Eventually Nick spoke again, "Now Zeke, where did we go wrong with you?"
If Zeke wasn't already frozen with fear, he was now, "What do you mean?"
Nick began explaining in a calm tone, "Well you went to the ZPD even after they so cruelly fired my wife from the force."
"We know you talked with some of them," Judy clarified as she was applying her makeup.
That was when Zeke began pleading for his life, "I'm sorry. I was scared. I promise, I won't speak to them anymore."
Nick smiled as he gave the lynx a friendly pat on the back, "It's okay Zeke. We understand."
Zeke was about to return to pleading, but after his mind registered the statement his boss made, he asked, "You…you do?"
"Of course," Nick replied with a grin as he stretched out his arms, "Come on. Let's hug it out."
And suddenly, Zeke's demeanor returned to terrified, "No, I'm good."
"Why not?" Nick asked, grin still on his face, "You afraid I'll bite?"
Zeke gave another frantic yet cautious response, "No. I'm just…I'm not much of a hugger."
In actuality, Zeke wasn't an idiot. He was fully aware of what could happen to him if he got within close enough proximity. Nick, And Judy enjoyed having a little fun with their targets by throwing in occasional surprises. So there was a good chance that if he hugged his boss, he'd end up having his tail cut off, or potentially worse. But the problem was that it was his boss that was asking for the hug. So saying no wasn't completely an option.
Which was why Nick pressed at the matter, "Come on."
Zeke gave a nervous smile as he tried backing away, "I'm fine sir."
"I insist," Nick replied more demandingly.
As Zeke slowly tried to scoot away, he felt something blocking him from moving. A quick glance behind him revealed that Kevin was preventing him from moving away. All he could feel was his hopes for survival slowly inch away from him as he cautiously moved towards his boss. Eventually the two got close enough to where they could wrap their arms around each other, Zeke did so at a more sluggish pace than Nick. For a second, Zeke felt a little relief that nothing happened, until Judy chimed in, "Aw how sweet."
Nick kept his grip around the lynx as he said, "See? That wasn't so bad."
Zeke wanted to reply, but for some reason, he felt a little groggy. After glancing back at his glass, it took seconds for him to figure out what had happened. Just didn't put anything in the alcohol but rather on the glass where he was drinking. And with that last thought, Zeke faded out of consciousness. "Zeke?" Nick said After after noticing that the lynx was asleep, "Must've had too much to drink."
Judy gave an amused smile to her husband before saying, "Take us to the guest house Manchas."
"Of course madam," the driver replied through the speaker.
Zeke woke after what felt like a couple of hours. The first thing the lynx looked for was something to vomit in since he felt like he was going to be sick. Probably Kevin punching him in the gut when he was asleep. However, when he opened his eyes, all he could see was darkness. And when he tried to get up from where he was, he felt resistance as if he were restrained. "What the hell?" Zeke thought out loud, "Where am I?"
"Don't recognize this place?" Zeke heard Nick say off to the side. Suddenly the lights switched on and Zeke immediately learned where he was. He was strapped to a table with torture tools on an adjacent table to his right, currently with Nick standing in front of it. To his left was a small table, and a switch which he knew opened up a hidden hatch with water as cold as liquid nitrogen. He was in what was called the 'guest room', and he was now 'the guest'.
Zeke began pleading for his life, "Mr. Wilde. Please I-"
A small paw held his muzzle shut as he heard Judy interrupt him, "Hush. You have a visitor."
Zeke then noticed loud footsteps approaching from his left side. As he looked towards the source, he saw three polar bears, the two shorter ones being Kevin and Steve. He didn't have to look to know that Koslov was also there taking Mr. Big in the room. Koslov approached the table with his paws held together and placed them on the table. He then opened his paws to reveal Mr. Big inside in his usual seat.
Mr. Big was first to speak as Judy slowly released his muzzle, "Ezekiel, I must admit, I'm very disappointed in you. I welcome you into my family, and this is how you repay me?"
"Sir, I can explain," Zeke immediately blurred out.
Nick gave Zeke a solid punch to the snout as he said, "You only get to speak when you're given permission to do so. Not before then."
Mr. Big spoke again, this time to Nick, "It's alright my child. No need to get angry with the poor man. I think he should get a chance to defend himself."
Nick gave a nod along with his reply, "Sorry father."
While a couple of the heads, including that of Zeke's, looked around with confusion, Mr. Big decided to continue talking to Zeke, "Now Ezekiel why did you sell us out to the police?"
Zeke's expression immediately changed from confusion back to terror, "What? No! I would never!"
"We know you've been talking with one of the officers at the station," Nick chimed in, showing Zeke's phone to everyone in the room, "Now we want to know why."
Zeke was quick to reply, "He threatened to come after my wife and kids."
"And we know you don't even have a girlfriend so now I feel like we're just wasting our breath," Judy said as she walked over to the control switch near Mr. Big, "What should we do now?"
Mr. Big gave a soft chuckle, as he answered the small doe's question, "Ice him."
Judy began pressing buttons on the table, causing the table holding Zeke to adjust to an 85 degree angle. Also causing the lynx to squirm in fear as he knew what came next. Judy pulled the big switch on the table which opened the trap door leading to the frozen waters below Zeke's feet. This in turn ceased Zeke's attempts to wriggle free as he could tell that if he were free of his restraints, he wouldn't have time to get away from the hole he was over. Judy's paw was hovering over the button that would've e freed the 'guest' from the table as Zeke cried out, "No! Please! I didn't tell them anything! I swear!"
Nick then held the phone close to Zeke's face as he asked, "Then why were you wearing recordings devices, and why was your phone bugged when we picked you up?"
"He needed solid evidence or he'd bust me!" Zeke answered with complete honesty.
Unfortunately his answer only made Judy furious, "You sold out to save your own worthless hide?"
Zeke felt tears running down his face as he continued his pleas for mercy, "I'm sorry. Truly. It won't happen again."
"I believe you," Mr. Big said as Koslov readied to take him from the room, "Nicholas, Judith, cut him loose."
Zeke let out a big sigh and began laughing with happy disbelief, "Thank you sir. I'll make it up I promise."
The lynx watched as Koslov left and allowed his heart rate to relax again, also trying to ignore the warm feeling that was growing in his pants. However, there were still things that he noticed hadn't changed. Kevin and Steve didn't move from their posts. Nick was leaning against the torture table. Judy's paws still hovered over the release button and…"Wait. The hatch is still open."
Nick smiled grimly, "Oh we know."
"Wait. What's happening?" Zeke asked as he felt fear begin to swell in him again.
"Relax Zeke," Judy replied with a friendly tone, "You just need to chill."
Zeke watched as the button that Judy's paw hovered over was now pushed down by the gray doe. The restraints holding him instantly let him go, and the lynx quickly fell into the frozen waters below him. Before he could have time to get out, Judy pulled the switch that sealed the chamber, cutting off Zeke's only escape. Once the door closed, Nick lovingly approached his wife and said, "Need to chill? Ha. Clearly I'm rubbing off on you."
Judy leaned against the table she was at, and jokingly replied, "Maybe I need a new husband."
"You know you love me," Nick said as he put his arms around the rabbit.
"Do I know that?" Judy said, still in her teasing manner, "Maybe."
Nick looked at Judy as he held a paw to his heart with fake hurt, "Wow. Maybe? Just a maybe?"
Judy smiled as she leaned her face closer to his, "I already said 'I do' once."
"Maybe I just like hearing it more than once," Nick brought his face closer to hers.
The two shared a loving kiss before noticing that the screams, and pounding from the chamber had come to a halt. It only took seconds for them to catch what it meant. Judy decided to comment first in a joking manner, "Sounds like your new pawpsicle supply is ready to go."
"You two, clear out the garbage," Nick ordered the two polar bears before turning to his wife, "You, and I need to spend some alone time."
Nick gave Judy a quick pat on her backside which caused her to turn around and seductively say, "Naughty boy."
When the two left the room, Kevin and Steve got straight to work. They were familiar with what to do since it wasn't their first time doing this work. Removing the body was sometimes a difficult thing if the mammal tossed in the freezer was really large like Koslov, or super small like the boss. Thankfully, Zeke was still a good size to where they could easily fish him out. After they pulled out Zeke's body, Kevin began speaking, "Yikes. Glad I'm not Zeke."
Steve began making a reply, "Those two have to be-"
"Shut it," Kevin interrupted as he clasped a paw over Steve's muzzle, "Just help me deal with this."
While the two continued working, their cautious conversation about their bosses continued. It was mostly cautious because they knew that the couple watch security footage throughout the building. And because of the massive amount of fear they receive from all except for Mr. Big, and possibly Koslov. But Steve was still fresh to the group so he never truly understood the story behind how they got in Mr. Big's very good graces. So when the two were alone outside for a smoke break away from cameras, Kevin began explaining everything.
