The wormhole disengaged and ominous darkness enveloped all of them. He was still staring on the inactive stargate, trying to avoid screaming on the top of his lungs. This wasn't fair.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw Daniel talking to that old bastard whose fault this all was. Well, he wasn't going to make it that easy on him, but first things first. They needed to bury the gate before the other SG-1 send a big powerful bomb to make sure they didn't represent any security risk.
He turned around and almost bumped into Carter. Her big blue eyes were wide with surprise at his sudden movement.
"Sir?"
"No sirs, here, Carter. I mean, Sam."
"I just…"
"We're not in US Air Force, remember? There are no ranks, medals or missions for us. Besides repairing this old disgusting ruin of a building forever and ever."
"I'm sorry, s… I mean, I-I'm sorry. I…"
His chest tightened as he saw the hurt look that was painted on her beautiful face. God, he was being an asshole. It wasn't her fault. Feeling more pathetic than ever, he watched as she shrugged and left. Damn, he was an asshole. She hadn't done anything wrong.
He turned and walked in a different direction, not wanting to interact with anyone right now. He still half-expected for someone to wake him up and tell him this was a huge mistake. His hand flew to his cheek where an ominous metal circle was exposed. No, definitely not a mistake.
How can they expect him to live like this? Well, live might be a stretch, he is not made of flesh and blood. Just some damaged circuitry. His walk brought him to where Teal'c laid, being ready for the repair. The Jaffa was kept in a plastic dome, with wires and tubes running all around him. It actually wasn't too different from how the members of his team looked in the infirmary, each time they were checked or hurt.
All that beeping was definitely getting on his nerves, so he decided to do a little recon and then find Daniel and make a plan to bury the gate. He hoped Sam was somewhere else, getting some rest or energy or whatever they needed now. After his outburst, she deserved some peace.
