Chapter One

Captain Lee Crane didn't know where he was for the moment having to be slightly dizzy and off balance having been hit from behind of his head while leaving his cabin for the evening. The Seaview was docked having arrived from a week of exercises in the South Pacific.

There had been rumors that certain terrorists groups around the globe was going to try and kidnap certain key figures to try and prove a point with the governments.

Crane heard noises around him as if their were two men talking about with the coast was clear with taking out the security guards on the dock. He felt his arm being stuck with some type of a needle to knock him out completely. He was currently helpless to move with his eyes covered along with his arms and legs.

Blacking out from the shot given into his vein. The two men carrying his body out of the submarine and onto the main deck for where a black truck was waiting to take him to an unknown location...

Early the next morning ... Nelson Institute

Admiral Harriman Nelson was alerted at his office the next morning that Captain Lee Crane wasn't abroad the Seaview. No one had seen him nor his wife Rose Marie haven't heard from him since arriving back into port.

Nelson had asked for a report to have found out that two of the security guards were knocked out late last night. They had been taken to the Nelson Clinic and placed in guarded condition.

Commander Chip Morton and Chief Francis Sharkey arrived at the Nelson Institute to find out that Captain Crane had disappeared without a trace. Admiral Nelson had asked the Institute security officer Wills Halston to have all of his officers to check the entire area for Captain Crane.

Meanwhile...

Admiral Nelson had spoken with Morton and Sharkey to check on board the Seaview for any type of evidence that might lead them to the captain and possible captors. Nelson had called ONI to find out on whether Captain Lee Crane might of have been given a secret undercover operation without his knowledge. Even though Captain Lee Crane had given up those type of missions a long time ago.

He didn't know what to think at the moment after thinking about his last conversation from the Seaview.

"Lee, are you sure your going to be fine with Rose Marie and the children visiting her sister while the Seaview is away in the South Pacific?" Nelson would asked from the Institute since he wasn't needed for this particular trip.

"I will be fine Harriman. This is not the first time my wife had taken them to visit her sister in San Francisco. Don't worry the Seaview will come out of this with the operations with flying colors. Now don't worry, I will be sure to send a full report when it's finished."

"Okak Lee, I will look forward to the report when the exercises are done. Good luck and come back safe and sound. Nelson over and out." As he ends the conversation with his captain and best friend.

Nelson came back to his senses after remembering the last conversation he had with his friend. Otherwise he was extremely worried that something bad of happened sometime late last night.

On board the Seaview some time later...

Commander Chip Morton and Sharkey walked into the Captain's cabin to look for any type of clue. Check the bedroom Chief maybe we might find something for the Admiral to use." He ordered sounding exhausted and worried that his friend Lee Crane just might of been abducted.

In the expanded section of the cabin with the bedroom. Chief Sharkey found a matchbox indicating that someone was in the quarters and dropped it without realizing it had fallen to the floor.

Sharkey comes out of the bedroom as he shows him the matchbox with a Pelican design called the Pelican motel somewhere in the mariner district. "I have heard of this place, it's really shady for the most part Commander. You don't think that maybe the Captain just might be there?"

"Don't know Chief. Let's continue to search before taking matchbox to the Admiral." Morton worried for his friend to be getting into some sort of trouble.

They were able to search other areas that the captain might of gone to that evening since he was supposed to be staying on board for the night.

Pelican motel Garage area

Ground level room 27th

This particular room was towards section of the front section away from the traffic of the local highway. Both men had placed Captain Lee Crane inside of the seedy room with just two windows. There were no other customers in the other rooms with the manager working with the two terrorists to keep it this way.

They had tied Crane to a bedpost with his eyes blindfolded, along with his wrists tight as with his ankles to have the cuffs cut into them making them bleed slightly. He had started to come around even though his stomach was upset from the drug they had used on him.

He wasn't able to talk with something in his mouth feeling dry like cotton for the movement. Someone had walked into the inner section of the room talking to his associate having brought food from the local diner with sandwiches and coffee.

"Jonas is he still out cold?" His friend asked having joined the terrorists a few years back.

"Nah! He's beginning to come around Ariel. We are ordered to keep him here until further orders with the ransom demand. Otherwise Dupont, I would doubt the Nelson Institute would pay it even though it is Captain Lee Crane of the Seaview." He says with sarcasm in his tone of voice.

"If he wants him alive, Admiral Nelson will pay the ransom to see him alive again." Ariel quipped with his words to have his associate shaking his head with the statement.

"I will go check him out to see if the drug has worn off entirely. Do I remove the blindfolds?" Dupont says stupidly to have Ariel blow up with his anger and his rifle pointing at Ariel shaken and scared before being told to leave the blindfolds on and with checking his wrists and ankles.
