This starts in the middle of the song Say No To This. I did not keep rhythmic. While I listen to Hamilton, I always wonder what would have happened if Alexander had not cheated on Eliza. This is what I think would have happened. This story will differ from history.

Disclaimer: I don't own Hamilton.

(Alexander's P.O.V.)

I offered her a loan and said, "I need to get back to my work. If I don't get this done I will be removed from office."

She said, "Please, walk me home."
"No, I must continue working. Goodbye, Mrs. Reynolds." I responded.

She sighed, "See you around sir."

When Eliza got home from her father's, I decided I should talk to her about the loan I gave Mrs. Reynolds.

"Eliza, best of wives and best of women, can I speak with you?"

"Yes Alexander, Philip, would you go to your room and read?

We went into my office. Eliza sat down on my couch and I sat next to her.

"Okay what is it? You obviously wanted to tell me something important, so what is it?

"It may not be that important, but while you were gone Mrs. Maria Reynolds came to our house and said this: 'I know you are a man of honor, I'm so sorry to bother you at home, but I don't know where to go, and I came here all alone. My husband's doin' me wrong. Beatin' me, cheatin' me, mistreatin' me. Suddenly he's up and gone I don't have the means to go on.' I offered her a loan. She took it and asked me to walk her home, but I told her that I must continue my work so I keep my office. I figured you would want to know that."

"Thank you Alexander. I will talk to her about needing money and see if we can arrange something for her to do to earn some money."

"I love you." I leaned in to kiss her.

(Eliza's P.O.V)

The next day, I decided to go visit Maria Reynolds about needing money because her husband left. I was a little bit angry that she had the nerve to come and try to seduce my husband. That woman's husband was notorious for swindling people. If Eliza had to guess why Maria Reynolds had visited her Alexander, she would guess Mr. Reynolds convinced Mrs. Reynolds to help him make money off of Alexander, and he was gullible.

I knocked on Reynolds' door. A woman whom I assumed was Maria answered the door.

"Are you Maria Reynolds?"

"Why yes, I am. Who is asking?"

"I am Elisabeth Hamilton. Alexander told me you went to him for help when your husband left. I was wondering if you wanted to come work as my ladies maid to make money."

"Hamilton, yes. Your husband was very kind to me, but he seems very busy. How did he find time to tell you about our conversation? As for your offer, no, I do not wish to work as your maid. I was feeling extremely dramatic yesterday, but James will come back, as always."

"Very well. If you change your mind about it, the offer is always on the table. And, dear Alexander tells me everything. See you around."

"See you around Mrs. Hamilton."

That day after Philip was in bed, Alex and I sat on the couch and read. He looked up at me and said, "I almost forgot, how did the meeting with Mrs. Reynolds go?

"Oh, I think that yesterday was an attempt at a scandal including you. I offered for her to work as my lady's maid, but she declined. She told me that she was in an overly dramatic mood yesterday and that Mr. Reynolds will return soon. She seemed nonchalant. You said yesterday that she seemed a little bit alarmed?

"Alarmed may be a bit strong for her emotion, but she was not calm or nonchalant. I suspect you are correct and I was a very gullible subject for her."

"Yes, well in the end, you were smart, my love. I think that we should forget this."

"Good idea my Eliza."
