I nervously shift my scarf from around my throat as I look up to the school my school will be visiting. It's a rather prestigious school, only for those that are good at academics, but also have a little extra something in their repertoire. I was picked because of something I picked up. Amrita, the school for those less inclined for fighting and more inclined for healing and protecting, is my school. The one in front of me… is Labrys.

Go in. My weapon hisses in annoyance. I shoot a small glare at the mechanical snake that my old school gifted me for winning an important debate. It wasn't even supposed to be activatable. It's an old relic. It's so old it was rusting a little bit. The Ouroboros award. The moment I touched the metal, I blacked out. When I came to, the Ouroboros unlocked, and I'm stuck with a mechanical snake that can actually hear my thoughts and speak telepathically to me… And it awoke something in me, which is why I'm now enrolled in Amrita. For two years, I've been training with my bonded. Tomorrow is going to be the first day all the schools are going to be presenting their teams for who has the strongest team. Amrita is convinced that with me, they can't lose. I'm not too confident...

I've heard tales about this school. It's said that there's a lot of trouble here. Students are rowdy and undisciplined. They have less control over their weapons, so fights break out at least once a week. I have no idea how my best friend from long ago got accepted here… Hopefully he doesn't find out that I've been accepted. Or maybe he won't care.

We used to talk about what would happen if we were selected for God-Weapons. Yone always insisted that I belonged in Amrita. I'm too sweet and kind-hearted for the rough group of kids known as Labrys. I always told him that he should go to Durandal if he had the chance because they would be able to hone his skill. And he is skilled. His great-uncle Souma trained him and his brother, Yasuo, personally. He was the only reason why I wasn't horribly bullied back in middle school. He might have magenta locks, but at least no one wanted to pick on him. They could and did pick on me.

"Hey, look! It's Snow-cap! Isn't it a little warm for you to exist?" Some of my bullies startle me as I was trying to pull out a library book. I yelp before falling on my butt from alarm. The book I was trying to get falls onto me. I sigh before gathering up the material.

Three idiots stand around me, guffawing over my tiny height and unusual looks. They even ask me if I know what I'm supposed to be, with one blue eye and one red. I just do my best to ignore them. They'll get tired of it. I know they will.

Then one of them yanks on my hair. My head bursts into mild pain. I'm forced to stop and be around these jerks.

"Alright, guys. You've had your fun for the day. Why don't you just let me go and we can say that the insults of the day are done?" I suggest a little bit snarkily as I try to get my hair back. I have to drop all the other books just to even try to get my hair back. They let out a loud thump as they drop. The boys all snicker as they play with my hair.

"I don't know, Snow-cap. You know, you're blinding me in classes. How on Runeterra am I supposed to study when I can't see? Why don't we fix that?" One of them, the biggest and dumbest by the name of Brennan, sneers. I pale a little bit as his friend, Karl and Joe, open their backpacks. They pull out three different colored ink pots. I really try to get free of Brennan's grip, but he's not letting go.

"Guys, come on. Just let me go." I plead a little bit.

"Let's make it easier!" Karl laughs before dumping his ink pot over my scalp. Bright blue ink splashes all over my head. I feel tears start to prick at my eyes. I refuse to let them see it, so I won't let them. The ink is cold, but it's nothing compared to the chill in my soul. I am furious.

"Hmm… I don't like it. Let's try red!" Joe pops open another pot and dumps it over the same spot. I flinch a little bit when the pot taps against my skull.

I don't understand why they are doing this to me. I mean… I am considered the smartest in our year. I'm ranked twenty-seventh in our year. They aren't anywhere near that number. I don't even think they were average. I looked up to see how everyone did just in case someone asks for help. I work for my parents' farm on top of going to school. I barely have enough time as it is, I'd rather try to help someone that really needs it.

What makes it worse is that these are the guys that used to be so close to me. I don't know what changed… Actually, I do. We had another one in our midst. Garen. All five of us were as close as can be. Then he was accepted into Labrys and he went. Garen was the only one that made things nice for me and my only friends. Now… it's just hell.

"Purple's still too nice. I know! Let's throw green on it!" Brennan laughs. I squeeze my eyes shut, afraid.

Someone darts past me, slamming into Brennan. I fall against the bookshelves with dripping ink as a much taller student single-handedly makes all three of my former friends hit the ground. His hands clench into fists as he watches them scramble away. Once they're gone, he relaxes before turning to me.

"Are you alright?" He asks with the smoothest tenor I've ever heard.

I give a shaky nod before slowly peeling myself off the shelf. I wince at the obvious marks of ink on the shelves. I'm probably going to have to pay for that. My family doesn't have the funds to actually pay off the damages to everything. A whimper escapes as I kneel on the ground and pick up a book. The cover and edges are stained colors that they dumped on me. That just makes me feel worse. I'm going to have to figure out how to take care of this mess without my parents knowing.

Still, it's my responsibility. I'm going to take care of it. I just pick up the rest of the five books I was going to borrow. Maybe the school won't punish me too badly…

The last book picks itself up for me. I look up to see that the magenta haired young man is holding it out to me.

"Thank you…" I mumble while carefully making sure I don't stain it even more.

"Come on." He helps me to my feet. He takes off his pristine school jacket and carefully places it around my shoulders. The ink in my hair stains his jacket.

"I-i-it's ok! You don't have to do that. I've already made a mess-"

"It wasn't an option." He says clearly. I meekly follow him to the front desk, where the librarian notices my soaked self. I'm a little surprised that she's demanding who made the mess instead of yelling at me… I guess my self-esteem has really taken a toll on itself from a whole year of them taking out their frustrations on me.

Not even three days later, all three of them were expelled. My hair is still all different colors of blue, red, and purple, but school has become better. No one is trying anything anymore. In fact, I've started to make a few new friends. A young student by the name of Yasuo came over and started to chat with me. He showed me what friends are really like.

A month later, Yasuo introduced me to his very strict and stubborn brother, Yone. The same magenta haired man that helped me. I couldn't help but smile and hug him in gratification.

"Thank you." I mumble into his chest.

"...I guess you know my name now. What's yours?" Yone asks softly. I hear Yasuo's mouth drop.

"Leilah."

Before I knew it, we were almost always hanging out. When I wasn't with Yasuo, anyway. Yone really took me under his wing. No one ever messed with me.

For three years, we've all been really close friends. Each week, we'd alternate where we would study. For my week, they'd even help with chores around the farm. For their week, I manage to keep them from destroying the place. Well, I try to keep Yasuo from destroying his uncle's dojo in his desire to show off an old family heirloom. One that Yone was going to inherit. His god-weapon. The rest of his family wasn't pleased that both brothers were hanging out with a poor farmer. They made it very clear I didn't belong there, but I was ok with that. I didn't care about them, only that Yasuo and Yone were happy.

I don't know exactly what happened. My Dad had a massive accident with the farm. I was in the hospital with my mother when Yone was rolled in. Yasuo wasn't there.

I tried to find them after that day, but they all kept their distance. I was worried when I heard that they were accepted to Battle Academies. I don't even know which ones because no one would tell me, not even Master Souma. And they were separated. We were separated. For over two years. I'm a second year now… and somehow I'm labeled the most skilled of Amrita. I'm their ace in the hole, so to speak. I'm not entirely confident...

Then I got this thing and now I'm in Labrys because I can't possibly travel and live in Durandal. And I'm going to get eaten alive.

Relax, little human. You're going to be great. Not just anyone can bring me back. Only the ones purest of heart and strongest of souls can wake me up. The little being that calls himself Starshadow seems to be trying to help. I'm not entirely feeling it.

"Aren't you the weapon and I channel through you?" I mumble under my breath.

How many times do we have to discuss this? Not your traditional weapon. See, my creator was determined to make sure that with all the god-weapons in the world, there needs to be someone who can stop the weapons. Ergo, me. You also know that I take energy from you so I can protect everyone. Though, I think you are the better fit than Aurora was, bless her soul. She couldn't quite handle the amount you can in such a short time. There's a reason why you are the Ace in the Hole. Because not only can you use magic through me, you use magic from me. You are the only person that can use magic from two different sources. Now start being confident and chin up! Why are you so shy?

"You remember that he was in school before me… I was hoping to see him around here…" I mumble, sliding my hands through my snow white hair. It reaches down to my waist easily.

Leilah, if your boyfriend doesn't realize the gem he lost because of something stupid, that's on him. I got the best. I don't share. Starshadow preens.

"He's not my boyfriend." I smile when he settles into my scarf. As I am considered the most valued 'fighter', I get a little bit of leeway. I'm the only one allowed to wear a scarf.

This scarf… it's precious to me. It's from my birthday the same year Yone and Yasuo cut me off. They, along with my parents, took the time to buy this very scarf. It's a silk scarf of a borealis, with stars behind it. Yone was the one to actually hand it to me, saying that no matter what happens, as long as I look at the stars… I'll have their support and care.

"... Leilah?" Someone calls out to me. I frown as I turn around. A tall, blond young man has narrowed eyes. I guess he recognizes me as his face turns into the perfect picture of shock. I feel like I recognize him too. It's been a long time since I've seen him… then it comes to me.

"Garen?" I gasp. He smiles with a laugh before picking me up and twirling me around. I laugh with him… for all of three seconds. Starshadow does not seem pleased that a stranger to him is holding onto me.

LET GO OF MY HUMAN! Starshadow bites out a little bit. Garen blinks at the small black machine that currently has his fangs in his body. I wince as my own shoulder aches a little bit.

"And… who is this?" Garen asks as he puts me down. Once I'm on my feet, he pulls off. He rips a little bit of his skin as he pulls off Starshadow. His left shoulder, to be exact. My left shoulder, in the exact same place and size, starts to bleed a little bit.

"This… is Starshadow… he's… kind of… my god-weapon." I scratch my head a little bit. Garen raises an eyebrow. It takes him a moment, then he realizes what that means.

"Wait… you're the legendary Amrita Peacekeeper? The undefeated champion of the ring? I heard that they sent their best against you… and they still failed!" Garen gasps a little bit.

"Well… They exaggerated a little bit…" I mumble.

"Wow. And you managed to defend Amrita… with this little thing?" Garen asks in confusion, gesturing to my god-weapon.

This little thing will show you exactly what I'm capable of. Starshadow hisses.

"That's enough out of you, Starshadow…" I hold my hand out expectantly.

Garen lets go of my bonded. Starshadow immediately leaps from Garen's fingers onto mine. He slithers up to my neck before snuggling deep in the fabric. Of course, he gives a rather baleful glare to the stranger. He'll get used to others soon enough…

"That's… wow. Let me show you around Labrys, since this will be where you will compete. It'll give us a chance to catch up." Garen offers excitedly. He holds out his arm. I laugh a little bit at the sweet formality of him. I'd forgotten that with his parents, they raised him to be a proper gentleman.

He escorts me to the arena where we're expected to basically battle royale on the first day. I learn alot about what happened to him. While his sister, adopted and created from a shard of a god-weapon, was accepted and nurtured at Durandal Academy, Garen was forced to the side. He wasn't as good as his sister in their eyes. I feel rather bad for him, as all he ever wanted was his parents' love. Still he seems to have done well for himself. Despite how his parents treat him, he's excelling at Labrys. He even got a girlfriend who challenges him to be better. I don't know who, but she makes him smile.

He asks about my time after he left. When he hears how our former friends treated me, he instantly apologized. Like always, I told him that he had nothing to worry about. I told him about the new friends I made, though I don't give any names. Still, Garen promises that when he finds our old friends, he'd make them regret hurting me… I don't like it, but it's Garen. He always tries to make the world a better place, even when he doesn't need to. I just finish my tale by ending with how I got Starshadow when we arrive at our destination.

It appears that I'm not the only one to want to look at the arena early. I'm probably the last student to do so. My teammates all excitedly beckon me over to their side. I give Garen a tight hug before walking to them. Starshadow keeps himself hidden, though he's still looking at the competition.

"Who was that hunk of juicy meat you were talking to?" Evelynn seems to have her eyes on Garen.

"Leave him alone. He has a girlfriend, and he's not going to jeopardize it." I warn the hormonal girl off. Her god-weapon, ribbons, dance off her arms as she thinks about it.

"None are going to beat us." Sejuani polishes her machine. Unlike mine, hers does not have a personality. It's like a four-legged machine that she built herself. Her god weapon hangs on the side, charging her Bristle up.

"That does not give us the excuse to be lax. The other students, they aren't like Amrita." Kai'sa crosses her arms, reminding us all that we need to be careful.

"Well, we are the only all-girl team on the field." I point out. Sona plays a few chords on her weapon, an etwahl. A feeling of pride appears in my chest.

"And we have the best fighter of all. If need be, we could honestly just let you fight for Amrita. At least I'll be able to flirt with some of them." Evelynn coos as she rakes her eyes over everyone. I think she's looking especially towards a dark-haired youth with a hammer. I almost feel bad for him.

"I'd really rather not go too far. You know that it's risky for my health to do that for too long. And that I don't like fighting. I'm only doing this because the school promised to pay for my scholarship." I play with the end of my scarf shyly.

Well, that and I begged you to show me off. Starshadow dips his head out to press against my chin to comfort me. I snort before petting his head.

Sona flicks her fingers across her etwahl quickly, signalling to us that there's people coming to join us. Kai'sa and Sejuani immediately try to appear presentable as the principals of the schools walk around. The five of us keep our heads tall as our principal, Principal Azir, passes by with principals Swain, Ornn, Illaoi, and Yuumi. I gulp a little bit as the Labrys principal stares us down. Sona slips a hand into mine, giving me a little bit of courage.

"I assume that these are yours, Azir?" Swain looks down his nose at us. I keep my chin up is response.

"The best of the best. Evelynn of the Assassin club, Sejuani of Battle, Sona of Sorcery, and Kai'sa of Scouts." Azir presents us eagerly. All of my teammates step forward. I remain in the shadows, where I like it.

"Come now, Azir. You boast of a student that none can match. As far as I can tell, all of mine individually could take them all." Swain sniffs.

"They are worth far more than you think." Azir pats my shoulder. Starshadow sneaks a small pet from the principal without anyone noticing.

Swain and the other principals walk off. Sejuani goes back to polishing Bristle. When she's completely convinced that the four-legged machine is spotless, she mounts it. Pulling her weapon out activates the machine. It slowly wakes up with a groan, bringing everyone's attention. Garen's eyes are wide as Sejuani makes Bristle walk a little bit. A few experimental charges before she's satisfied. Her god weapon goes back to it's spot to charge Bristle up as she hops off her pet. Sona plays a few chords, amusement and exasperation tinging our emotions.

"Sona's right, Sej. There was no need to show off so early." Kai'sa supports our friend.

"Ah, but they haven't seen everything. Besides, your precious rulebook says that if the other teams aren't aware of all equipment, then they can be banned. No one is going to say they didn't see Bristle. Partially why Leilah's our ace in the hole. Her machine just so happens to be her god-weapon and therefore can be kept hidden." Sejuani points out.

"I think you got some dirt on your machine." Evelynn points at non-existent dirt. Sejuani goes into a fit, wiping away dirt with her greaserag.

Ah… Your teammates. They are always a pleasure to be around. Starshadow snarks.

"What do you suggest then?" I roll my eyes at his impatience.

Look around. You wanted to find your boyfriend. Go and find him. My machine urges. It doesn't sound like a horrible idea…

"You guys won't mind if I go for a little training? Garen mentioned that there are private rooms for us to warm up, and I'd like to try to do more." I interrupt their mini argument. Sona chimes eagerly, telling me that she's going to come with me in a little bit. Someone has to make sure they don't brawl. I sneak Starshadow from my throat to her weapon so she can find me later. When Starshadow finishes grumbling and settles on Sona, I go to find a room.

Other students watch me closely as I walk away… a little too closely if one asks me, but I'll be fine. Even if I'm not in the arena anymore, Starshadow won't hesitate to come to my aid if he senses I'm in danger. I'm tempted to channel a little bit of my magic into myself to find a room, but Principal Azir was very strict. No one can know of my awakened ability. So, I struggle.

I'm about to give up and go back when I hear someone yell. A few seconds later, the floor shakes a little bit. I almost fall down. When the floor stops moving, I cautiously walk forward. I'm outside a very barred door when another shout appears. Now the floor shakes almost immediately. At least I'm a little more prepared than before and easily stay on my feet without help. Starshadow has pulled some crazier moves before… on less friendly ground.

The door almost blasts off, so whoever is inside is extremely powerful. I'm a little afraid to ask for directions, but I really want a place to meditate and prepare for the battle royal tomorrow. This is clearly a training room. Maybe whoever's in it will know exactly where I should go. So, I shyly knock on the door.

There's a little bit of cursing. I wince a bit, getting the feeling that my knocking made whoever inside loose focus. I didn't mean to cause that… I just want directions. The door opens to reveal my best friend in the whole world, looking above me angrily. There's a small nick on his right forearm. One of his swords hangs around his waist. I'm curious about where the other one is… but I'm a little worried as to how mad Yone looks.

"Wukong, I told you not to-..." Yone starts to rant when he takes in the fact that I'm standing in front of him. He silences in shock. I'm also stunned to see my old friend here… I didn't think I'd see my crush today. I'm not entirely prepared for this. "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

It stings a little bit that he's treating me like a stranger. Still… It's been a long time since I saw him. He probably forgot me… I need to get my crushed feelings under control.

"Ummm… I was just looking for a place to meditate…" I stammer a little bit. My heart is pounding. I thought he was handsome before… He's breathtaking now that he's filled out a bit. And all the different crests of the academia's around his waist sort of emphasize his body. His shirt being a little wet from sweat shows off muscles that would originally be hidden. I'm ashamed to admit that I ogled him a little bit before I got my head under control.

"There's a room across the training hall. Completely sound and shake proof. I can take you there." Yone offers. His eyes seem to be flicking around me. I tilt my head a little bit before nodding in agreement. He holds the door open with his left while gesturing with his right. I swallow a bit before stepping past him.

The door almost seems to be ominous as the door shuts. Yone practically slams the bar on the door into place before calmly turning around. He walks past me a little bit stiffly. I recognize it as he's hiding something. As much as I want to pry a little bit, I'm not sure I have a right to anymore.

I silently follow Yone to a room that he described. Opening the door reveals a soft room with a few plants. There's even a small koi pond. Already I feel relaxed just by looking at it.

"It's beautiful." I mumble. I almost immediately cover up my mouth. My mouth was never good at being silent around him…

"If you need anything, just knock." Yone starts to close the door.

"...One of my friends will be coming in after me." I add, remembering that Sona and Starshadow will be coming in to help me. He silently acknowledges the statement. Before locking me in the room.

I sink into a cross-legged stance and close my eyes. Breath in. Breath out. The lids of my eyes start to brighten a little bit, informing me that I'm using the magic Starshadow sparked in me. I'm not a born god-weapon, just this is how Starshadow connects us. He uses my will to power him up. I try to relax even more, to gain better control of my magic, but I keep seeing Yone. The look in his eyes aren't one I've seen before. I've really missed him. I know I'm young, but I already feel like saying that he's the one that got away from me. Now that I see that he's alright, I want to reconnect… Maybe go on a date. I wonder if he still likes Green tea.

The door creaks open. I peek an eye open to see Sona slipping in with Starshadow. She gives a small wave before starting to play on her etwahl. Starshadow slides in front of me. He coils in front of me before sinking into breathing with me. Slowly, he grows. My own brilliant light dims as Starshadow grows bigger. Eventually, I don't glow, but Starshadow towers over us. He's the biggest I've ever managed to get him, able to create a dome over my friends if he needs to. Sona keeps her etwahl going, only she changes the tune a little bit. Our deep breathing continues until I raise a hand. Starshadow raises his tail. We conjure a shield between us. Sona tests the shield by throwing a note at it. The shield makes the attack disappear. Starshadow keeps his calm at the attack, knowing that it was going to happen.

I slowly pull myself from that meditative state. Starshadow manages to keep himself that large as he too comes out. He peers over himself before smiling at fangs and hood, now that he's much larger, stretch out.

Sona chimes a little bit. I can't help but agree. This is the first time I've been able to hold Starshadow so big. He's struggling to move comfortably. He accidentally knocks over a potted plant in his attempt to move around. I will him to get a little smaller, around my height. He sheepishly picks up a potted flower. The purple orchid at the top is almost torn off.

"Starshadow, I can't keep covering for you…" I sigh before looking shyly at Sona. She plays a few notes, encouraging me to fix the flower. My hand glows lightly as I encourage the cells to come together. When I pull my hand away, I'm sweating. The stalk of the flower shows no signs of damage. The soft petals of the flower also seem to be a little bigger… and tinged a little pink. A sigh leaves my mouth as I set the plant down again. It seems like I really am distracted. I haven't accidentally dyed flowers for a month.

Sona chimes a question.

"No… Well, yes, but I'm not talking." I blush a little bit.

What did she ask?

"Is there someone on your mind?" I answer him reluctantly.

She plays a few chords, asking me why.

"Because…" I walk over to the door and make sure that it's not open. No one can hear my little secret. When I check the door, it's sealed. "Because he's… right outside?"

Wait, that's Yone? He didn't mention anything about you.

"He… didn't recognize me."

Sona lets out a sharp trill in surprise. Then a series of questions flood my mind before it stops. She looks between the door and me. Then delicately plays a nostalgic and curious note.

"Yes… Yes, he's Yone." I sigh. Her notes come out chaotic and surprised. I almost cover my ears when she shoves Starshadow onto me. I fall down before he shrinks onto my neck, but the damage is done. She's opening the door.

A huge gust of wind flies into the room for a second. Then Sona plays her god-weapon, creating a shield of safety around her as she adventures into the room Yone is fighting in. Reluctantly, I conjure a shield with Starshadow's help and peer outside.

Yone is taking down target after target. They fall as shards as he dodges shots and slices them apart. He's an incredibly skilled fighter as he swipes his weapons everywhere. When there are too many, he sweeps his god-weapon across. A shield forms around him as they fall, giving him a small needed reprieve. The shield takes shot after shot of him, but they are all absorbed.

I keep watching as he is eventually backed into a corner. For some reason, there's a tiny smirk on his face. I only know it because I know him so well. They're right where he wants them. And I see why. When they are all neatly lined up, he sinks down while crossing his arms. Too fast for the eye to see, he teleports to the other end. A second later, all the drones are demolished. He stands up before looking at his handiwork.

Sona claps from next to me, applauding his performance. He starts a bit. His left instinctively jabs towards her. Sona doesn't react in time to protect her. I, on the other hand, was ready for it. Shadows catch onto Yone's sword, stopping it from going through. Sona's eyes are wide as she clutches her etwahl to her chest.

"...You shouldn't startle a student of Labrys. We do not take kindly to being off guard." Yone eventually speaks when he realizes what happened. Sona nods slowly in agreement. Her hands play over her instrument as she looks at me.

"Are you ok?" I ask her instead, ignoring her question. She nods before repeating herself.

"How did you react in time?" Yone asks at the same time. I don't think he really remembers me…

"Instinct?" I try.

"Instinct takes longer than my speed. You knew it was going to happen. How?" Yone demands, stepping forward. I back away a little bit, pulling on my scarf from nerves.

Hey! Back off! Starshadow hisses as he pokes his head out from my scarf. Yone doesn't stop moving. Eventually, he backs me against a wall.

"May I?" He asks, gesturing to my scarf. I shyly take it off, to the surprise of Sona and Starshadow. They have never seen me without it.

Yone runs his hands over the material. Something about it seems to spark something as when he looks up, there's a faint hint of familiarity.

"I know you somehow…" He whispers quietly. I try to take my scarf back, only he won't let go. "Somehow… I gave someone a scarf like this… Yasuo helped me pick this out… I told her that this was a sign of my affection..."

"May I have my scarf back please?" I interrupt his thinking. His brown eyes seem very confused. Pain starts to hedge into his eyes as he grips his head. I panic as he falls onto his knees.

"Starshadow!" I yelp as I press my hands against his temples. My hand glow a soft blue light as I frantically try to ease his pain. Sona darts out of the room while Starshadow hovers over my hands.

Each second that passes, it seems like Yone's head is getting worse. My own head starts to pulse as I struggle to keep him pain free. His brown eyes flick to me. This time, when he looks away, he looks right back. It's like he didn't recognize me, then realize that someone was there. I ignore the look and keep helping.

Holy SHIT! Starshadow attempts to break my concentration. He even goes as far as attempting to pull m hands off. I don't let him.

"What… is… it?" I groan a little bit. Yone stares at me in awe now. The pain in his head is starting to fade a little bit. I just keep on healing until there's nothing else to heal. I'm panting and dripping in sweat as I fall onto the ground. Starshadow coils himself on my chest as I close my eyes.

So… Um… you remember saying that He didn't recognize you? Well, it turns out… someone used a god-weapon on him. One that made him forget you. Starshadow rambles a little bit.

"...There are… God-weapons… Like that?" I gasp out weakly.

Leilah, you are connected to the only weapons that disables god-weapons… Starshadow deadpans. I blush when I remember that.

"Oh."

Yeah… Oh. You literally just found god-weapon particles and killed them, returning everything.

"...Leilah?" Yone interrupts our conversation. I blink open tired eyes. He's kneeling above my head. I didn't even hear him move. "Oh my god… How did… How could I forget?"

Eh. It's all good. Someone just pulled a god-weapon on your noggin while it was vulnerable. Starshadow clinks a bit as he shrugs. Yone's head still seems to be in a little bit of pain. I weakly reach my hands up, starting a soft glow. He grabs onto my hands and helps put them on his temples. The last of the ache melts away. When his eyes open, he looks pretty mad.

"...I can not believe that my Mother would actually call for someone to make me forget you and hate my little brother… They made me think the worst of him..." He snarls under his breath as he slides his legs under my head. That… actually explains a lot. It explains why he didn't recognise me.

"Well… It's out now…" I yawn a bit from exhaustion. I'm tired from healing. I wasn't even trying to use too much magic, I just wanted to help him. Now I'm probably going to be sore and tired tomorrow.

A bunch of feet trample into the room to see a peculiar sight. Yone, leaning a little bit back, with my head on his lap. I open my eyes and look up a little bit to see Kai'sa and Sona leading the charge, with Garen and Principals Azir and Swain behind him. I raise a hand weakly.

"...You know you were supposed to be warming up, not wearing yourself out." Kai'sa is exasperated. Sona trills a quick tune, quickly shutting my other friend up.

"Are you alright, Yone?" Principal Swain asks his student.

"I am. Better than alright." Yone answers. He seems to be a lot more at ease than before.

"Well… It seems like it's an early night for you, Lei. Come on." Kai'sa remarks. She starts to walk towards me when I'm suddenly scooped up in a pair of lithe, strong arms. I scramble a bit to hold onto something. Yone… he picked me up.

"I'll take her." He offers. Sona plays a few squeals before urgently trying to shove all the students out. I roll my eyes at her enthusiasm. She might not be able to talk, but she's very good at getting her intentions out. Garen seems confused while Kai'sa gasps at Sona's claim. She actually helps gather the principals out the door, leaving the two of us alone.

I blush a little bit before squirming. He notices and sets me down on my feet. Everything might ache, but I'm still capable of standing on my own. I'm a strong, capable girl in my own right, Dammit!

"Apologies, I didn't-" Yone starts to speak.

"It wasn't your fault." I interrupt him. He sighs before lifting my face up. I freeze a little bit. He's never done that before.

"My brother and I spotted a thief in our Uncle's Dojo. We chased them off. We were going to catch them, so we split up. A few moments later, I thought I spotted the thief trying to make off with our god-weapon. I moved to capture them… Turns out my brother went back and grabbed the weapon. I was rushed to the hospital. After that day, I couldn't remember you. Yasuo was forbidden to even mention me." Yone explains what happened that day. I stare at him in shock. Why we separated… it's finally answered.

"Oh…" I don't know what to say.

"I was going to meet with my mother's memory friend later that day anyway because I was going to ask you on a date and she didn't… approve…" Yone keeps rambling in his apology before he realizes what his mouth says. Mine drops as I stare at him. He… felt the same way as me? His eyes steel as he forces himself to keep going now that he's let it out. He turns away a little bit in embarrassment. "I understand if there's someone else. It was just going to be a coffee date-"

"Yes." My answer comes out without me thinking. He blinks before looking at me.

"What?"

"The… the coffee date… I'd be happy to go with you." I blush a little bit. Yone's shoulders drop in relief.

"Would you like to meet me at the coffee Shop at the end of Runeterra street after Labrys wins the tournament?" Yone teases me a little bit.

"You mean Amrita." I scoff.

"I already beat Amrita."

"You didn't fight me."

"That can not actually be a god-weapon." Yone points at my snake as Starshadow sips his cup of coffee two weeks later. We're finally on our date. I told him everything I've been through since he left. He tells me his accomplishments… Then Starshadow demanded a cup. I ordered one and that sparked the conversation we're having right now.

"He's a god-weapon." I promise, running a hand down his spine. Starshadow shiver a bit as he enjoys the warmth of his drink.

"How? He's sentient!"

"I have no idea, but he's definitely a god-weapon."

"He literally made Principal Swain pull up the school rules to claim that you couldn't use him."

"A god-weapon is a tool attuned to a singular person to enhance their natural skills to help them in combat. Not to mention that the god-weapon's insignia is on his head. Without him, I can not conjure shields. Ergo, he's a god-weapon." I point at a small indentation on his head.

Yone is silent as he drinks his luke-warm tea. I hold onto my warm chocolate. We've been catching up and talking for so long that our drinks became cold. I don't mind all that much. I've really missed him. Even just sitting across the table in silence is relaxing for me.

"I'm pretty sure he's a god-animal, not a weapon." Yone attempts to argue one more time. I simply pry Starshadow off his cup long enough to show Yone that my snake is completely mechanical. Yone shakes his head before finishing his drink. I follow soon after. Starshadow takes his sweet time drinking and tasting something that he won't digest… I think I spoil him too much.

"...This is amazing." I mumble.

"What was that?" Yone asks. I jump a little bit, not expecting him to hear.

"This… This is… perfect. I mean, I had a crush on you for the longest time. This is… it's perfect." I sigh as I close my eyes. I choose to ignore the fact that I told him how I feel so casually.

"You… have a crush on me?" He sounds like he's gasping.

Oh yes, she does. You were the first person she talked about. She wanted to tell you that she has a god-weapon first. She never shut up. Starshadow answers. His head is in the coffee. If he wasn't a machine…

"You told him about me?" Yone asks, sounding touched.

"You were important." That's all I say. The sound of someone sliding out of the seat has me open my eyes. I watch Yone as he slides next to me. My heart starts to pound a little bit as he leans in. Right as his lips are about to touch mine, he stops, letting me choose what to do. I close the distance, creating sparks between us.

Starshadow clears his throat a few seconds later. I blink a few times before throwing him a scathing look. I didn't think you wanted to go for a home run your first kiss!

"I'm going to kill you." I threaten him. Starshadow just laughs as he actually starts to drink.

Three whole minutes. THREE! Anyway, the coffee shop's going to close soon. Might want to wrap things up. He informs me in his cheeky way. Another sigh pulls itself out of my throat as I lean against Yone.

"Something wrong?" Yone asks, having only heard the last thing Starshadow said.

"I don't want this to be our only date. School's going to be hectic. Everyone's going to come to me to ask about Starshadow…" I mumble.

"How about we come to this coffee shop every two weeks? Just us, with no talk of god-weapons or studying. We be us?" Yone offers.

"That… sounds perfect."

Let it be known that I am a massive Yone fan, but I've written too much Leilah to just ignore the other skins. So, I'mma write oneshots with Leilah and Starshadow in the same universes. This is the battle acadamia one. I'll get around the Dawnbringer... And then we'll see what the next one is.
