Episode 1: None Down, Twenty-Four to Go – Part 1
This is the first chapter of my first FanFiction. Disclaimer: I do not own The Ridonculous Race or any of the cartoons featured. Enjoy.
Don was shown on camera inside a space station.
Don: Welcome to this unique edition of The Ridonculous Race. 24 teams will be arriving here, at the Cartoon Nexus, the center of the cartoon universe, ready to embark on a race across worlds and dimensions. Some will rise, some will fall, but in the end, only one team will emerge victorious and win one… million… dollars! Let's cut to the chase, and start off the first season of, The Ridonculous Race: Cartoon Crossover!
Cue Theme Song
Don: Our teams will be arriving here, at the Nexus, to start the race of a lifetime. Let's meet the teams.
Scene shows portals opening up and surrounding Don. Two teenage girls jumped out of one of the portals. One had short black hair in bob cut and light brown eyes. She was wearing a yellow catsuit; the other had blonde hair that went down to her shoulders and light blue eyes. She was wearing a red catsuit.
Don: Alex & Clover! Fashionistas, from Totally Spies!
[Confessional: Alex & Clover]
Alex: Clover and I want to do this to explore the world. Not for work purposes, but for fun.
Clover: And we're also doing this to meet all the hotties. (sighs and goes into a daze)
Alex: But we're mainly here to win, right?
Clover: (snaps out of her daze) Hmm? Oh, yeah, right.

Two animals are shown jumping out of a different portal. One was a pink hedgehog wielding a hammer; the other was a badger wielding bō staff.
Don: Amy & Sticks! Complete Opposites, from Sonic Boom.
[Confessional: Amy & Sticks]
Amy: Originally, I was going to do this race with Sonic, but he already chose Tails to be his partner. So I decided to do this race with Sticks, despite her paranoid tendencies.
Sticks: Thanks for choosing me, Amy. But why did you choose me over Knuckles?
Amy: Knuckles is… well, Knuckles. You were my most logical choice.
Sticks: (shrugs her shoulders) Makes Sense.

Two cowboys are shown jumping out a different portal. The female had white hair with red eyes and red lipstick. She was wearing a black hat, a black jacket with a white undershirt and a red tie, a black belt, black pants, and black heels, with a rifle in her hands; the male had brown hair that went to his shoulders, as well as a lot of facial hair. He was wearing a brown hat, a red poncho, metallic body armor, a belt with BAMF on the buckle, brown pants, and brown boots with spurs on the back. He also had a silver robotic left arm. He was also smoking a cigar and had a peacekeeper in his right hand.
Don: Ashe & McCree! Cowboys, from Overwatch.
[Confessional: Ashe & McCree]
Ashe: Now, I didn't want to do this race with this traitor. But he was the only option. Everyone else in the gang are scrawny and weak.
McCree: What about B.O.B.?
Ashe: They're still trying to repair after you blew him up.
McCree: Oh yeah. Well, I can't say I'm complaining.

Don: Brad & Tuck! Brothers, from My Life as a Teenage Robot.
[Confessional: Brad & Tuck]
Brad: Now, I originally wanted to do this with Jenny, but she already had her Mom as her partner, so I decided to do this with my younger brother, Tuck.
Tuck: Yep! I can't wait to do this race! It's gonna be awesome!
Brad: (chuckles) I'm sure it will.

Don: Clyde & Lincoln! Best Friends, from The Loud House.
[Confessional: Clyde & Lincoln]
Lincoln: Both my parents and Clyde's parents were hesitant with us entering this show, but after my negotiation skills, and Clyde's baking ability, we were able to convince them otherwise.
Clyde: Yeah. I'm super excited to be doing this race. It's gonna rock. (they high five each other)

He was wearing a white shirt with red trimmings and a red oval in the center, blue jeans, and red-and-white sneakers; the female had black hair that went to her shoulders and purple lipstick. She was wearing a black tank top with a purple oval in the center, a black striped skirt with a green crosshatch, purple leggings, black combat boots, black bracelets on both wrists, and a choker. She looked like a Goth.
Don: Danny & Sam! Ghost Hunters, from Danny Phantom.
[Confessional: Danny & Sam]
Danny: Originally, I was going to do this with my best friend, Tucker. But he had to go to a science convention in Orlando, and because my older sister, who thinks that she's an adult, can be kind of controlling, I decided to go with Sam.
Sam: Yep. And with my brains and Danny's abilities, I just know we're gonna win this thing.

Two kids are shown jumping out of a different portal. The female was tall with blonde hair and big, blue eyes. She was wearing a ballerina outfit, complete with a pink tutu, white leggings, and pink ballet slippers; the male was small with orange hair and glasses. He was wearing a white lab coat, purple gloves, and black shoes.
Don: Dee Dee & Dexter! Brother & Sister, from Dexter's Laboratory.
[Confessional: Dee Dee & Dexter]
Dexter: Now I really wanted to do this race, but no one wanted to be partners with me. So… (sighs) I made the ultimate sacrifice.
Dee Dee: (enthusiastically) Hi, mom! Hi, dad! Hi, Mee Mee! Hi, Lee Lee!
Dexter: (sighs) But, despite this obstacle (while pointing at Dee Dee), I'm still going to win this race.

Two adults are shown jumping out of a different portal. The male had blue skin, long black hair tied in a ponytail, and a scar under his left eye. He was wearing a blue lab coat and pants, black gloves, and black boots; the female had long black hair, pale skin, and green energy surrounding her body. She was wearing a green and black catsuit with an asymmetrical harlequin-dazzle color pattern.
Don: Dr. Drakken & Shego! Villains, from Kim Possible.
[Confessional: Dr. Drakken & Shego]
Dr. Drakken: When we entered this show, we had no idea we'd be the only villains team.
Shego: Yeah, it's kind of annoying really.
Dr. Drakken: But it can work in our favor. You see, because we're the only villains team, it'll makes us look like the underdogs. (mimicking the teams) "Oh, Drakken & Shego aren't so bad. It'll be easy to get rid of them." But when the time is right, we'll show them what we're truly capable of. (he laughs manically as Shego rolls her eyes, which he notices) A little sidekick enthusiasm wouldn't hurt you know.
Shego: (unenthusiastic) Woo-hoo, extra hoo. Happy? (Drakken groans in frustration)

Two people are shown jumping out of the portal Brad & Tuck jumped out of earlier. One was an elderly scientist with white, spiked up hair and red lab goggles. She was wearing a black turtleneck sweater, a yellow lab coat, and yellow heels; the other was a teenage robot with blue "pigtails", blue "bangs", white skin, and blue "clothes".
Don: Dr. Wakeman & XJ9 (Jenny)! Mother & Daughter, from My Life as a Teenage Robot.
[Confessional: Dr. Wakeman & XJ9 (Jenny)]
XJ9 (Jenny): I was going to do this race with Brad, but my mom already signed us up as a team, which is kind of a bummer.
Dr. Wakeman: Look on the bright side XJ9, with our combined speed, strength, & smarts, we'll win for sure.
XJ9 (Jenny): I guess. (walks out of the room)
Dr. Wakeman: (to the camera) Teenagers. Am I right?

Two boys are shown jumping out of a different portal. One was tall with yellow skin, a buzzcut hairstyle, and horse teeth. He was wearing a red and white stripped t-shirt underneath a green jacket, purple trousers, and black shoes; the other was short with pink skin, three long bristles, and a big mouth. Don: Ed & Eddy! Scammers, from Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy.

Eddy: Originally, I was gonna do this race with Double D, but he had to go too a fancy, smancy science convention in Orlando. So I had to go with Ed.
Ed: Buttered Toast! And gravy. (begins drooling)
Eddy: (face palms and groans) It's going to be a long race. (composes himself) But if I can keep him under control, I know for sure I'll win the One Million Big Boys. (his eyes turn into dollar signs)

He was wearing an orange hard hat, an orange glove on his right hand, a red shirt, black overalls, a utility belt, and black shoes. He was also carrying a toolbox and a wrench; the other had black hair and glasses. He was wearing white-grey lab coat, red gloves, dark brown pants, and black boots. He also had some sort of device on his back.
Don: Engineer & Medic! Geniuses, from Team Fortress 2.
[Confessional: Engineer & Medic]
Engineer: Now, I know we may not look like much, and we may not be as strong as some of the other teams.
Medic: But we're smart, and with our smarts, we'll win the competition.
Engineer: I'll drink to that. (takes out a beer and swigs it down)

Don: Ferb & Phineas! Stepbrothers, from Phineas and Ferb.

Phineas: We're here to tour the world and have fun. I just know we can win with our brains and inventions, right Ferb? (Ferb gives a thumbs up) Thought so.

Don: Gromit & Wallace! Inventors, from Wallace & Gromit.

Wallace: Gromit and I wanted to do this race, and do the best we can with our combined smarts, right Gromit? (Gromit gives a thumbs up) That's what I like to see.

He was wearing a red shirt, a black vest, a bullet belt that went across his chest, dark gray pants, and black combat boots. He was also carrying a huge mini-gun; the other had a bald head which was covered by a dark gray helmet. He was also wearing red coat, a grenade belt that went across his chest, a black belt, dark brown pants, and black combat books. He was carrying an RPG.
Don: Heavy & Soldier! Big Guns, from Team Fortress 2.
[Confessional: Heavy & Soldier]
Soldier: We decided to do this race because with our unstoppable strength, we're a shoo-in for the win.
Heavy: Despite some people thinking they can outsmart us, which may be true, we have yet to meet someone that can outsmart… (pulls out his gun and begins shooting) bullet! (he ends up shooting the camera, destroying it in the process) Whoops! Sorry!

He was wearing a white undershirt underneath a gray suit, a black tie, gray pants, and black dress shoes; the girl was a teenager with long orange hair and emerald eyes. She was wearing a green catsuit.
Don: Jerry & Sam! Uncle & Niece, from Totally Spies!
[Confessional: Jerry & Sam]
Sam: I was originally going to do this race with Alex or Clover, but they were already a team. So I had to go with my bo- I mean uncle.
Jerry: Yes, but look on the bright side, with our smarts, we could easily win this race.

Don: Jimmy & Sarah! Twerps, from Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy.

Sarah: First off, I DID NOT SIGN UP TO HAVE OUR TITLE BE TWERPS! And second, we're going to win this thing.
Jimmy: Yes we are. (spotlight falls on top of him) Ow!
Sarah: (gasps) Jimmy!

Two men are shown jumping out of the portal Ashe & McCree jumped out of earlier. One was a scrawny, peg-legged man with dirty blonde hair which, for some reason, is on fire. He was wearing a chest harness with grenades attached, a black fingerless glove on his left hand, torn green shorts, and a brown boot on his left foot. He also had an orange robotic right arm and a silver robotic right leg with an orange knee cap. He was also carrying a grenade launcher; the other was an immensely obese brute with white hair tied in a ponytail. He was wearing a gas mask that looked like a pig's head, numerous pieces of junk all over his body, a tattoo on his huge gut, blue pants, and black boots with silver horns on them. He was also carrying a scrap gun.
Don: Junkrat & Roadhog! Deranged Junkers, from Overwatch.
[Confessional: Junkrat & Roadhog]
Junkrat: Now, we're only in this for the money. I mean, what'd you expect from a couple of Junkers, right mate? (Roadhog only nods) Right. But it'll still be nice to travel the world.

The boy had little hair with was covered by a red baseball cap with a black peak which he wears on backwards, which allows for three long strands to poke out of his hat's opening. He also wears a long-sleeved lime green shirt, black shorts, and black shoes; the girl had blonde hair and red lips. She was wearing a black T-Shirt, a white tank top, purple pants, and black shoes.
Don: Kevin & Nazz! Popular Cul-De-Sac Kids, from Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy.

Nazz: We are here to win! We're fierce competitors who aren't afraid of competition.
Kevin: With my speed and Nazz's determination, we'll take the million for sure.

Don: Kim & Ron! (the naked mole rat coughs) And Rufus. Secret Agents, from Kim Possible.

Kim: We are here to win! With my athletic ability and Ron's tenacity, we'll win for sure.
Ron: Yeah! Though I don't think we should be called Secret Agents because everyone knows we're spies.

Luna: This race is going to be rockin'! I get to tour around the world and possibly win a million bucks. And I get to do it with the girl I love.
Sam: Aw, thanks Luna, you're the best.

Shaggy: So the gang really wanted us to do the race. At first, we weren't interested, but after they mention the prize, and how much food we could buy, we were on board.
Scooby: Reah. (snickers) Rhat's rhy re're rere to rin.

Sniper: Spy and I wanted to do this race for the money and for touring the world.
Spy: Yes. And with our combined skills, we'll dominate the competition.

Sonic: Yeah, we're definitely going to win this thing.
Tails: Sonic, don't get over-confident.
Sonic: Come on, with your brain and my speed we'll easily dominant the competition.
Tails: We'll see.

She was also wearing high-tech devices on her chest and arms, a dark brown shirt, yellow-orange pants, and high techs shoes. She was also carrying two pistols; the other was a humanoid Gorilla with high-tech armor and glasses. He was carrying a giant Tesla cannon.
Don: And finally, Tracer & Winston! Colleagues, from Overwatch.
[Confessional: Tracer & Winston]
Winston: I was excited to do this race. I've always wanted to explore the world, and now I get to do it with one of my closest friends.
Tracer: Thanks luv. I'm so excited to do this as well, and with our combined talents, we're definitely gonna win.

Don: (everyone gathers around Don as he makes his introduction) Welcome one and all to The Ridonculous Race: Cartoon Crossover. You will race all over worlds and dimensions, in which you have to complete various challenges. At the end of each leg, there will be a chill zone. Get there fast because the last team to arrive, could be out of the race.
Ed: Oh No!
Ashe: We have to stay in the lead.
Don: Indeed you do because the first team make it to the final carpet, will win One Million Dollars! (teams cheered) Look over here. (points to a box shaped like him next to a portal) This is a Don Box. Find these to receive your travel tips that will guide you around the world. For this episode, you'll go over to that Don Box and jump through this portal that'll lead you to your first destination. Everybody understand. (teams nod) All right! Now before we begin, I realize there are three Sams in the competition, so not to confuse things, we'll call you (indicating the red head Sam) Sam; we'll call you (indicating the blonde Sam) Sam Sharp; and we'll call you (indicating the black hair Sam) Sam Manson. Now with that out of the way, On Your Marks… Get Set… (camera pans over teams with determined looks on their faces) RACE! (teams start running towards him) Not the face! Watch the hair! (hear him scream as he gets trampled)
Sonic (unsurprisingly) ends up taking an early lead thanks to his speed and gets to the Don Box first.
Sonic: (reading the tip) Take the portal to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
[Place Description]
Don: Toronto, capital of North America, birthplace of funk, where the albino panther roams free. Once teams get here they'll find their next travel tip outside the CN Tower.
[End Description]
Sonic: Come on Tails, let's go.
Kim: Ron, hurry.
All teams go into the portal.
Don: What are the first sets of challenges in store for our contestants? Who will be the first team sent out of the race? Only one way to find out. Stick around for the next part of, The Ridonculous Race: Cartoon Crossover!
