A/N: Hello you~ XYGirl2019 here! And here I am with a new fanfic! I'm currently placing The Eds & Friends on-hold as I try to come up with an original plot that is not a retelling or a parody.

At the mean time, I decided to write a new crossover and this time... it's about Ed, Edd n Eddy and the webcomic, Sleepless Domain. Lately, I've been reading the aforementioned webcomic and I must say I've been hooked! It's a very nice deconstruction of the magical girl genre with small elements from My Hero Academia slightly embedded into it and by slightly... it means you'll hardly notice it.

Anyway, after reading it until I reached it's latest chapter, this story came to mind and decided to give it a go. Anyway, enough chit-chat and let's dumpster dive in this new story!

In a world run by monsters, a single city, possibly the last remaining safe haven for humanity. During the day, the city is surrounded by a dome-shaped outer barrier, known as the Great Barrier, that keeps the monsters out. However, at 10:00 pm, the Great Barrier's ability to keep monsters out disappears.

The Inner Barrier appears every night at 10:00 pm and forms around the city's buildings and outdoor vegetation. While it's appearance changes from night to night, its purpose remains the same; to protect normal citizens from the monsters. This means that anyone stuck outside the barrier will remain so until the night is over. The barrier is impenetrable by normal citizens, but can be breached by monsters and... magical girls.

Magical girls are teenage girls with unique powers that defend The City from the monsters that attack it every night. Magical girls usually receive their powers in their early teens. Most magical girls are given powers at age twelve, but some receive them at ages eleven or thirteen as well.

On the night they receive their powers, magical girls have The Dream, a special dream where they are visited by The Woman in White and granted their powers.

After the dream, a magical girl's hair and eyes change color to those of her new form and remain those colors until she loses her powers or passes away, even when untransformed.

Magical girls lose their powers when they are 18 to 20 years old. They can lose their powers before then in certain special circumstances.

Magical girls often form teams to combat against monsters. Often, the teams are thematic, meaning that the girls' powers, costumes, and symbols match. Members of thematic teams usually know each other before they are granted their powers, although this is not always the case.

Other times, the teams are non-thematic, meaning that there is no common element among the girls' powers. These are often teams of convenience and mutual benefit to ensure safety in numbers.

Magical girls can battle alone as well, although this is considered more dangerous.

Magical girls are monitored by a multitude of organizations, including the City Defense Department, the Board of Magical Girls, and the Magical Girl Support Institute. The City Defense Department is in charge of battle logistics and protecting the city. It is unknown how much control the CDD has over how magical girls defend the city. The Board of Magical Girls is in charge of magical girl status and registration, and the Magical Girl Support Institute focuses on research centered on magical girls. The MGSI and the Board are sub departments of the CDD.

Magical girls register as a defendant of the city with the Board. When they register, they are assigned a personal counselor to help them deal with their transition. Registration does not mean that the magical girl is obligated to defend the city each night, nor does it mean they have to attend Future's Promise.

Future's Promise is the school designated for magical girls. The education at Future's Promise is of high quality, and the school has been shown to have better conditions than the average public high school. There are no grade levels in Future's Promise since magical girls are not granted their powers at one certain age; rather, classes are assigned according to the girl's proficiency in certain subjects.

In this world, magical girls are treated as celebrities. They are regarded as champions of the city and there is much media and tabloid attention surrounding them, including media outlets such as magazines, merchandise, and television talk shows. This allows magical girls who are popular enough to make money off of their celebrity status. Many popular magical girls have managers.

However, the public may not be fully aware of the dangers magical girls face every night in return for their stardom. They have come to ignore the deadly combat magical girls must undergo and treat magical girl deaths like trivialities. This also leads to a stigma surrounding magical girls who refuse to fight.

Some of the public likes to view magical girls as perfect warriors. They shy away from the idea that magical girls are as flawed as any other person, because this realization means that magical girls don't exist just to fight and die for the city.

One may wonder if the magical girls are nothing more but sacrificial lambs to ensure the survival of humanity.

"Attention all citizens! The time is now 9:55 P.M.! Please make sure you are back inside your homes, with all doors and windows locked!"

As the P.A. System is heard all over the city, it's inhabitants wasted no time getting themselves inside their homes, making sure that they secured themselves from the dangers lurking from outside while the magical girls are getting ready to deliver swift justice to any monsters making a presence in their city.

"The time is now 10 P.M.! All citizens should be indoors and all magical girls transformed!"

On top of one building, we see a young man with a messy brown hair and green eyes, wearing a baggy brown suit, standing there looking around with a stoic expression.

His mind however... is far from stoic.

"This is bad.'' the young man thought in concern, "I can sense that the monsters are getting more stronger and cunning.'' he declared, "I don't doubt that the girls can handle them but one wrong move, they might themselves at the mercy of these things.'' he stated, "As much as I hate how things are going, I can't do anything about since it's not my place to do so.'' he admitted in disappointment when suddenly, he felt a very powerful and ominous force from the distance, "Uh-oh...'' he muttered in dread.

Meanwhile from another side of the town, we see a magical girl running around, jumping from one roof to another. The girl had long, light pink hair and darker pink eyes with yellow pupils. And her outfit was bright pink with yellow accents. This is Tessa Quinn, also known as Alchemical Aether.

Alchemical Aether, the leader of Team Alchemical, is currently looking for her teammates. After a nasty discussion with a teammate earlier today, she decided to sit the night while her teammates set-off to prove that they can do things without her. However, due to her concerns and worry, she decided to find her teammates to see if they're doing okay.

"They better be along the usual patrol route..." Tessa muttered before landing on the ground, "Did they follow some monsters and end up off course?'' she questioned herself before spotting a strange glowing creatures that looks like a cat-fox hybrid. The creature then ran off, prompting Tessa to follow it, "That doesn't look like a monsters...'' she thought, "Maybe a girl's familiar or something...'' she concluded. She then turns to a corner, "You can't escape me-'' she was about to say when her eyes widen in horror, "What...'' she muttered in shock.

Tessa is greeted by the sight of a hideous creature with a red & blue scary face that has black arms, and a black deer-like body. However, it's the sight of four girls, three dead and one barely hanging for dear life, lying down on the ground with crates and blood on their mouths.

Tessa stares at the sight in horror but her horror turns to rage as her eyes glows pink with sparks going all over her body. She then aimed her right palm towards the creature, she then let's a pink spark before firing a powerful lightning-like shock towards the creature, instantly obliterating it to pieces.

With the creature gone, Tessa quickly ran towards the surviving girl, "Undine!" she cried out in concern.

Undine Wells, also known as Alchemical Water, is a short, black teenage girl with bright blue curly hair formed into short drill curls and has blue eyes. She wears a blue dress.

Undine weakly turns to her, "H-Hey, Tess...'' she greeted, "I'm so sorry... it happened so fast...'' she apologized, "The others... they've already...'' she said, "Haha...'' she chuckled solemnly, "We really blew it.'' she admitted with tears forming in her eyes.

Tessa kneels down next to her, "W-We gotta get a healer here, or...'' she was saying in panic.

"It's... a bit late for that...'' Undine confessed, "I'm doing my best to hang in there, but... blood isn't pure water.'' she admitted.

"Undine...'' Tessa muttered in horror with tears on her eyes.

Undine then weakly grabs the ribbon on Tessa's attire, "Listen to me, Tess, you... you can't give up...'' she advised, "You're... much stronger than we were... the city needs you...'' she stated.

Tessa gritted her teeth, "No!" she denied, "I won't accept it!" she exclaimed with her body letting out a powerful pink spark, "Any one of you deserves to live more than I do!" she declared.

"What... what are you doing... ?'' Undine asked in confusion.

"Haha, I'm not quite sure.'' Tessa admitted with a chuckle, "They say healing's the hardest form of magic...'' she stated, "But if my power's is so damn great...'' she said, "Then I should be able to manage this, right?'' she declared.

And with that, Tessa began to transfer all of her power towards Undine, healing her at some point and as a result, Tessa begins to lose her power with her hair turning brown and a pink iris has been added in Undine's eyes.

Meanwhile, observing on top of one building, we see the young man with his face filled with horror, remorse and guilt. Gritting his teeth and clenching his fist, his eyes squinting in anger as the rope inside of him finally snapped.

"That's it! This is the last straw!" the young man exclaimed before pointing a finger up, "I don't care if I get labeled as a sinner but I don't want to sit around and do nothing!" he declared when suddenly, three blue-colored lighting strike struck down from above.

The lighting strikes then hits the three dead girls with their bodies' letting out a blue spark, twitching slightly before they resume breathing... albeit heavily, much to Tessa's shock and confusion.

"W-What is going on?!" Tessa exclaimed.

The young man smiled of what he just did, "This is all I can do for the moment.'' he admitted, "I sacrificed half of my life for this girls, they're alive but are in a coma, and unfortunately won't be waking any time soon.'' he stated before walking off, "But it's worth it.'' he declared before coming into a halt, "Now then... since I broke status quo... might as well do things to the next level.'' he said.

Suddenly, a yellow-colored portal with sparks appears before him, "It's time to find people that can help the girls.'' he declared before entering the portal which then vanished a second later.

Meanwhile in another world, free from monsters, we head towards a place called Peach Creek. Peach Creek is a suburban town consisting of newly-built houses sitting on the edge of some larger town or city that can be seen looming away on the horizon. Peach Creek still maintains its suburban roots, with all types of greenery including the woods and the creek. Yet Peach Creek still has some traces of urban development, such as the junkyard, the construction site and the trailer park. It also has a downtown area with many highways leading in and out.

But then focus on a certain location called The Cul-de-Sac, the place features a number of suburban detached homes, a playground, and a lane. There are eleven houses surrounding the Cul-de-Sac. There is an unfinished Cul-de-Sac to the right of the main one, where houses are being constructed.

Inside one of the houses of the cul-de-sac, we see five boys sitting on a green couch in a living room facing a television.

The first boy has a slightly short stature with jet black hair with three strands on top, brown eyes and pinkish skin tone. He wears a yellow polo shirt with a purple collar/sleeve hems and a vertical red stripe on the right side. He also wears light blue pants like most of the other characters, as well as a wallet chain and plain red shoes. This is Eddy.

The second boy has black hair tied in a low ponytail and green eyes. He wears an orange shirt, purple shirts, red socks, blue & yellow creamed sneakers, and a black beanie hat. This is Edd, also known as Double D.

The third boy very tall and has a short-orange hair, blue eyes and yellowish skin. He wears a green jacket over a red & white striped shirt, purple pants and black & yellow creamed shoes.

The fourth boy is tall with a brown skin, dark green eyes and dark blue hair. He wears a yellow T-shirt with a red horizontal stripe, light blue jeans, and red & cream shoes. This is Rolf.

The fifth boy has a light peach skin and light green eyes. He wears a long-sleeved lime green shirt, black shorts/shoes and a red baseball hat with a black peak backwards with three long strands sticking out from under it. This is Kevin.

The five boys sat on the couch staring blankly at the television which is turned-off at the moment.

"Can someone turn on the TV?'' Ed requested.

Double D then used the remote but the TV won't turn on, "Batteries are out.'' he pointed out.

Eddy then snatches the remote from Double D's hand, "Give me that.'' he said before tossing it towards the power button of the television, turning it on.

"Aaaaahh~" the boys muttered in a relaxed tone.

"This is the life~" Eddy mused.

Suddenly, the mysterious young man appears before them, "Greetings, boys.'' he greeted, "Lovely day isn't it?'' he asked with a smile.

The boys stares at him blankly for a couple of minutes before, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" they screamed in fright with their couch falling backwards alongside them.

The young man rubs the back of his head, "Maybe I should have chosen a better way to introduce myself.'' he muttered sheepishly.

And that's the first chapter and I hoped you all enjoyed it. Anyway, for those who've read the webcomic, you're all probably wondering why the three girls are brought back to life? Well... why not! As Tessa said, any one of you deserves to live more than her, so I spared their life in this fic. Though, as stated in this chapter, the girls are in a coma, so Undine can still have her character development like in canon.

As for the Eds, Rolf & Kevin, sorry if their appearance is short but I'm saving their wackiness in the next chapter. Anyway, the boys are now 14 to 15 years old which means... it's been years since the Big Picture Show which explains why Kevin is hanging out with the Eds. And if you're wondering where the others are... Jimmy, Sarah and Nazz won't be part of this story while I had plans for Jonny and Plank, and same goes with the Kanker Sisters.
