Third Person POV

Russia October 1, 1989

Blue pool water's light was reflecting. The chlorine smell affected all who were there. Swimmers who were in the pool were all in matching black swimsuits with little black skirts attached. The instructor stood outside of the water, guiding the swimmers through an aerobics class. They were raising their hands above their heads, leaning to one side slowly and then the other, attempting to mimic a tree in the wind. All in sync, as if they had done this countless times before. Watching the swimmers were two teenagers. One was a girl in her yellow bathing suit with her swim cap. The other, a male, was wearing his swim shorts. Both of them were sitting on opposite sides of the water fountain. The girl on the left side on a metal bench. The male on the right side on a separate bench. She glanced over to see him also turning to look at her at the same time. Both make eye contact and smile at each other before the boy looks down in thought.

She looked away quickly as one of the swimmers in the black swimsuits came out of the pool to take a drink of water from the fountain, blocking their view of each other. As the swimmer leaned over to drink from the fountain, the two teenagers lean forward to make eye contact over the swimmer's body. As the swimmer finished her drink and straightened her back, the two teenagers both quickly straightened their own backs against the turquoise wall to not get caught glancing at each other. Once the swimmer walked away and back towards her class, the boy quickly got up. He crossed the water fountain's invisible line and joined the girl on the bench she was sitting on.

He sat close to her leaving little room between the two. He smirked and said something to her before trying to lean over and kiss her. She stopped him before he could by leaning away and putting her hand up in between their faces. Their moment is interrupted by a teacher banging on the glass window beside them, making up that teacher's office. Once the teacher's back was turned, the girl leaned over and kissed the boy on the cheek quickly, albeit with a simple peck. Before he could say anything, she runs and jumps in the pool beside the swimmers who were working out. He walked to the edge to look for her head to appear above the water, perhaps to talk about her short kiss.

Some swimmers noticed something strange with the water. They began to stare at the spot where the girl had gone underneath. There was blood steadily rising to the top of the pool. The male called out for her as the swimmers in the class wade towards the occurrence slowly. Her head raised above the surface, her belly making an appearance as she floated on her back. What was once a flat stomach was now stretched out as if she was pregnant, and she was. The lady was pregnant with a child she had not been carrying before she jumped in the water. The ladies in the swim class began to scream, backing away slowly. The girl in the yellow bathing suit began to grunt as she lay on her back in the water, trying to tread. They pulled her out and onto the floor beside the pool. The same ladies surround her as they hold her hand. She was screaming in pain. She was giving birth. With a final push, she laid her head on the ground, her job done. Hearing a baby's cry, she glanced up to see her new baby being handed to her.

On the twelfth hour of the first day of October 1989, forty-three women around the world gave birth. The births were unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible.

Back at her house, the woman was sitting in a room with her family. She was holding the baby she had given birth to recently. A man was heard walking down the hall, "Extraordinary!" He yelled. The man enters the room. The family starred, too confused to protest, as he approached the new mother. He examined the newborn in her arms with fascination and poked it with one finger. Satisfied, he looks to the mother. "How much do you want for it?"

He got eight of them.
