Chapter 1- Yesterday

Starts at the end of fifth year in the day after Snape's worst memory.

Yesterday

Yesterday was all James could think about as yesterday had been one of the worst days of James' life as he was stone cold rejected by his crush Lily Evans yet again yesterday and one thing more to add to that burn is that Lily had told everyone who was watching that she would rather go on a date with a giant squid before him. As his friends tried to cheer him up, in the Gryffindor common room he started to sing his favourite band the Beatles.

Yesterday all my troubles seem so far away now it looks as though there here to stay o I believe in Yesterday. Suddenly I'm not half the man I used to be there's a shadow hanging over me o I believe in Yesterday. James sang.

It was at this moment Lily came down to the common room but, before she got all the way down, she could hear someone singing so she peeked and was surprised to see that it was James. She stayed hidden in the staircase as she listened to James continue.

Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say I said something wrong now I long for yesterday. Yesterday love was such an easy game to play now I need a place to hide away o I believe in yesterday. James finished

Lily couldn't believe that it was James singing that song and that he actually had regrets about what he had done yesterday. With that Lily went back to her room to double check that she had packed everything. While she was double checking she kept thinking and couldn't believe that he had regrets and what's more is that he was singing from the Beatles. Lily loved the Beatles, but she didn't think that a pure blood like James would know the Beatles.

When James had finished, he thought about all the lyrics he sang and the truth to each lyric as he really wished that he never did those things to Snape. And that unless he changed, he blew any chance that he had was Lily.

"Come on Prongs there are plenty of fish in the sea why don't you go looking for other ones besides just Evans." Sirius said

"There just isn't any girl as perfect as Evans Padfoot." James responded

"Well how about we go to the kitchen and get a snack to help you cheer up like some ice cream or some chocolate." Remus asked James

"Yeah that sounds good maybe that will help me take my mind off Evans." James concluded

As they went to the kitchen to go get a snack it was still on James's mind that he truly longed for Yesterday.
