5/14: Okay. So. I keep dropping off of this story, but it really deserves better than that. I just finished getting caught up through the third season. Apparently four is out there someplace, but I haven't seen that yet. It's not on Netflix. So my knowledge of characters is only up to season 3. This story officially now takes place sometime after the season 3 finale (so spoiler alert), but I think there are some episodes that I'm going to pretend didn't exist. I'll try to update you if anything contradicts, but my memory is really bad. So if it doesn't make sense, please ask me about it and I'll clarify. Also, I have head canons that I'm using in this story that kind of contradict how powers work in the series.
For example, Hawkmoth's ability. My head canon is that each butterfly is a physical manifestation of each of the Parisian's souls. Hawkmoth's ability therefore is to amplify negative emotions when that specific butterfly flies up to him and release it. This is shown to be wrong according to canon, where a butterfly can change targets. So clearly the butterflies are not the souls of any one person. But I like my version better, so...
Again, I'll try to keep you updated if there are any others that contradict canon.
Another important thing to point out is that this is a Chat Blanc story. At least, it will be. Soon. But I'm actually glad I waited until I rewatched the series before continuing the story. The final battle will hopefully distinguish it from the many other Chat Blanc stories out there. I'm quite excited for it. And I never would've gotten the idea if weren't for season 2 finale. So I'm glad I waited, because now I think the ending will be better than whatever I might've had planned before.
The only issue is, I'm really out of practice with writing right now. So if the writing's awkward, stiff, and whatever other unflattering things, I hope we can all stick with it (including myself), because I do actually have high hopes for this story.
