I can't remember anything. My mind is blank, completely wiped. I can't even remember what I look like, much less my name or where I'm from.

I open my eyes to observe my surroundings. All I see in every direction, going on infinitely, is white. Plain, bright, white. I hate it, but I begin walking through it all the same.

I need to remember my name. I think as hard as I can. All I remember is one letter: K. It's not much, but a single letter is better than nothing at all.

I walk and walk. There is no sense of time here.

I learn I have long black hair when I stumble and It falls in front of my face. I search my pockets for something to tie it up with. I find a stretchy, blue circle of fabric. A scrunchie, I recall as I tie my hair up.

As I continue my journey, I begin to remember small, trivial things. I remember that I know two languages, although I don't know which two. I remember that I used to want to be a newspaper journalist, but I don't know why or even what made me give up that dream.

Eventually, I become exhausted and hungry. I search my pockets for food and pull out a small, black rectangular device in a hard navy blue shell.

I don't think it's edible.

The strange object has three buttons on the sides and a dark oval on the back. I press one of the buttons and a picture of several unfamiliar people appears. On the picture are some words and numbers. They read "23:46, May 24, 2029". I have no idea what that means, so I put the item back.

I ball my jacket into a pillow and check one last time for danger before falling into a deep, sleep.
