Author's Note: Hello everyone, my name is Karla and I am a Gilmore Girl junkie. I ADORE that show, I started watching it this quarantine for the first time and since then, I haven't stopped thinking of the show (I finished it a month ago). I normally watch a show and if I like it, I watch some YouTube videos to find more about it and do some research on Google, but then after a week, I totally forget about the show. Well, with Gilmore Girls have been different. Gilmore Girls is a lifestyle! That show changed me completely in the best of the ways, I've literally watched every interview with each and every actor on the show, I've investigated about Amy Sherman Palladino, I bought Laurens book: Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, I've read tons of fanfictions, my cellphones ringtone is the shows theme lol, my iPhone wallpaper is Gilmore Girls related and I just started to buy Gilmore Girls merchandise. IT'S MADNESS!
So, since I've read several fanfictions, especially following Lukes and Lorelais storyline because they are my favorite couple from the show, I've decided (after a lot of doubting and thinking) to write a fanfiction following their storyline, their relationship. Ok, I want to make some points clear:
My first language is Spanish, I am Mexican, but I speak (I guess) fluent English because I live practically across the border. So, if you see a misspelling or something doesn't make any sense, PLEASE let me know or correct me. I'll be very grateful if you guys tell me.
I plan on taking this fanfiction from the "Blame Booze and Melville" episode from season 5 (and changing the course of that episode & the story), yup! The one where Lorelai thinks she might be pregnant (which she wasn't and I felt very disappointed) because, honestly, I always wanted Luke and Lorelai to have a baby and I didn't like the way Amy Sherman Palladino played with my feelings on the first episode of season 3 when Lorelai dreams she and Luke were together and they were having twins.
I am planning on deleting the whole April storyline or practically rewrite her story. I haven't made up my mind yet, but just know that if I delete her storyline it's not because I hate or dislike her character because I actually don't.
If I don't post chapters right away, just know that I am rewatching the serie because I don't want to miss a detail or lose the essence of every character while writing.
This is all I wanted to say and make clear for you guys before starting to publish my fanfiction. I will appreciate all sort of comments regarding to the story, so feel welcome to give your opinion. Thank you very much.

Chapter 1: The Twickham House
The Gilmore Girls lives couldn't be better. Rory was at Yale studying her sophomore year to become a journalist and she was also working as an intern in the Stamford Gazette thanks to the opportunity Mitchum Huntzberger offered her. Her relationship with Logan had improved or at least she succeeded to make him take more seriously their relation. Lorelai was working so hard in the inn Sookie and her always dreamed of having. She finally got an interview with a magazine which was a great opportunity to publicize the Dragonfly Inn. She and Luke were madly in love, enjoying their relationship to their fullest after 8 years.
Luke was not joking when he told Lorelai that he was all in. He was seriously committed to their relation; he had no words to explain how he felt about Lorelai. She changed his life, she changed him for the better. He was once married to Nicole, but they never actually lived together despite the fact that they bought a small place for them to live. She put several times over the table the idea of having children, but he refused always saying that it was not a good idea because of his age, he didn't have the same energy he had when he was younger to take care of a child. However, after he started dating Lorelai, he began to have the illusion of having a baby with her. The idea of bringing a little person to this world that was half him and half Lorelai, the woman with whom he had been in love for a long time, made his heart pound fast.
As usual, he got up early that morning and went downstairs to the diner. He loved having that silent and peaceful moment and space during the morning just to think and be alone. He sat in front of the cashier and he remembered that day that Lorelai had to spend the night at his place because the Independence Inn was caught in fire, so she had to host guests at her home. He remembered how that night she told him about that weird dream she had long ago about them being together, living in her house and how in her dream he spoke to her stomach because she was pregnant with twins and he was the father. He realized that, despite not saying anything at that moment, he thought it was a sweet dream.
"Now that we are actually together, what if this dream comes true?"- Luke thought. The images of Lorelai pregnant and both of them carrying a small blue-eyed baby came to his mind and that sneaky smile of his was drawn on his face. He felt warmth in his heart.
When the diner began to illuminate by the sun that was finally coming out, he stood up, began to open the windows blinds and arrange the chairs at the diner tables. He was still thinking in the whole baby idea, perhaps he should talk to Lorelai about it and see what she thought and how she felt about having a baby with him. Anyway, he was planning on buying the Twickham house and he had already talked to Taylor about it. That house was spacious enough for a big family.
Caesar arrived a few minutes after Luke arranged everything in the diner and as the morning went by the place was filled with clients and familiar faces from Starts Hollow. Everything was calm until the phone rang and Luke picked up:
-Luke's!
A familiar voice came through the other side of the line:
-Luke, is Taylor.
Luke turned his gaze to the window of Taylor's Old Fashioned Soda Shoppe and saw him standing over there, in that ridiculous Mary Poppins suite, waving with his free hand at him with a big smile on his face while he was holding the phone with the other hand. Luke waved fast at him and trying so hard to sound nice, he said:
-Oh, hey Taylor, how's it going?
-Not so well. I mean, for you. It's going very well for me. I just had a group of German tourists come in and they've been shoveling it in since they sat down.- Taylor answered in a very lively way.
Ignoring what Taylor said and with a completely serious look on his face, Luke asked:
-What do you mean it's not going well for me?
-It's the Twickham house. Someone's put in a competing offer.
Almost interrupting Taylor, Luke in disbelief said right away to him:
-A competing…Taylor, you promised that house to me.- Luke said while pointing his finger in his chest and leaning forward.
Taylor trying to defend himself and walking towards the window where he and Luke were staring at each other, said:
-And I did all that I could, but this other offer includes a substantial down payment in cash. The powers that be are seriously considering selling the house to this fellow townsman of yours.
Luke without hesitation and decided said:
-I'll up my offer.
-This guy will just up his, then. He's got vast resources.
Mad at Taylors response, Luke said:
-How many resources can he have? He's living in Stars Hollow!
-Luke, he's willing to put down a quarter of a million dollars!
Incredulous and upset, Luke answered back:
-What?! That can't be right!
Taylor in a soothing tone of voice said:
-That's what it is.
Without getting upset, Luke responded:
-I know everyone in this stinking town! What fellow townsman has a quarter of a million dollars in cash?
-I am not sure I am at liberty to say…
-Tell me Taylor.- Luke said determined to know who was this guy.
Opening his eyes and leaning his head forward the window, Taylor said: Ok.
Luke looked with extreme attention through the window and began to read Taylor's lips.
-Say that name again.
Taylor repeated the name and Luke this time finally managed to read successfully Taylor's lips. He sighted and said: I'll talk to you later.- and hang the phone trying to control his inner rage.
Luke turned around to face the table that was at his right-hand corner of the entrance and saw Kirk sitting over there drinking a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper. He walked towards Kirk's table and furious screamed at him:
-Where did you get a quarter million dollars?
Kirk calmed down, said:
-What? I don't have a quarter million dollars.
-You don't?
-No, it's actually $250,000. Well, now $2,498.9 because I am paying for this coffee.
Luke rolling his eyes and taking his hands over his head said:
-Why are you putting a competing offer in on the Twickham house?! Why Kirk?
Being carefree Kirk said:
-Well because I can and because it's the perfect place for me and Lulu.
-Did you know I have an offer on that house?
Shrugging his shoulders, Kirk answered:
-Something has been mentioned.
With a threating tone voice and still mad, Luke said:
-Back off your offer! Take it back Kirk!
Confused about why Luke would want him to take his offer back, he said:
-No! You take your offer back! Why would you want the Twickham house when you own this place already?
Luke impatiently, leaning forward and moving his hands madden, yelled at Kirk:
-Because I talked to Taylor first!.- still leaning forward, but this time pointing his finger towards Kirk's face, he continued yelling: You are not getting away with this Kirk! That house was mine; that house is mine and you are not getting away with it!
Luke walked away annoyed from Kirk's table and went upstairs. All the people in the diner witnessed what have just happened.
Once upstairs, Luke was pacing desperately around his place trying to calm down. Why? Why now that he just felt the need to start a family with Lorelai? He was nervous that Lorelai would find out about what happened. He hasn't told her about the Twickham house, neither about the baby idea. He was so into his thoughts until his cellphone rang. Lorelai. "Shit, she found out!", Luke thought. He answered trying to sound calmed:
-Hey
Lorelai full of excitement through the other side of the line said:
-Heyyyy babe! Guess what I have in my possession?
-Mmm, the keys to hell?
-Ha-ha-ha so funny! I thought you found those years ago
Luke smiled and laughed a little bit and Lorelai still with excitement said:
-My cover! I got an advanced copy babe!
Luke allowed himself to feel Lorelai's excitement and feeling more relaxed, he said:
-Hey honey that's great! How does it look?
-It looks beautiful Luke! The Inn looks beautiful!
Starting to get more serious, Luke said out of nowhere:
-I need to get a new pair of pants.
Lorelai confused, taken out of the subject, said:
-Ok, that came out of nowhere…
Luke trying to explain himself, said:
-Oh no, I mean for the party they are gonna throw you.
Catching up to what Luke was saying, Lorelai said in a playful way:
-You don't need new pants; you just need pants! And the party's at New York so you may not even need pants…
Luke felt chills, he knew exactly what Lorelai's words meant. He said with a smirk on his face that could be heard over the other side of the cellphone line:
-So, what's the plan?
Lorelai with a mischievous smile, said:
-Since when do we need a plan for that?
-Lorelai…- Luke said trying to get serious.
-I am sorry, I am sorry!.- Lorelai said rolling her eyes and still with that playful tone of voice.- Ok, so what do you say 5:00 p.m. at my house? The magazine is sending a limo over my house to pick us up.
Luke nodding said:
-Yeah, 5:00 p.m. sounds great babe, but how are we coming…- Lorelai cut him off and answered quickly the question she knew he was going to ask:
-The limo is bringing us back to my house.
-Fine
-So, it's a date.- excitement could be heard through Lorelais voice. -See ya´!
Luke interrupted before she hang up and said quickly:
-Hey! I've got to get a copy! I want to get a bunch, though. Frame one or two of them!
Lorelai smiling said:
-You got connections babe!
-Ok, so see ya´ later then!
-Love you!
Luke with a big smile on his face, said:
-I love you too babe…
They hang and continued through their day.
