a/n: A small prompt of 'forever'. I thought it fit Benzo really well and so I went with them. In a perfect world, Elena would've still been a vampire and lived out her eternity with Damon beside her. Bonnie would've turned into a vampire so she could live forever with her friends and Enzo. This is wildly AU, of course, but a girl can imagine. I also envision Caroline would've eventually found her way to Klaus, too. Le sigh... Good thing we have fanfiction.

She didn't need to think about it. Though every part of her was against the idea, she had already made up her mind. It was inevitable, wasn't it? Though her entire family, her entire bloodline was against vampirism, if one wanted to be with someone forever, one needed to live forever. It was that simple. And Bonnie had been through enough to know what she truly wanted. Finally, after all this time.

She wanted Enzo. In every shape and form. True, she could've kept her witchy abilities by turning him human with the leftover cure they saved from Katherine, but then Caroline would've been alone one day. Elena would've been alone one day, and Damon, too. She wouldn't allow that.

"You'll regret it," Her mother had said. "One day, you'll feel the weight of what you don't have and you'll regret it."

Maybe, she thinks. But with the love of her life beside her, she can't help but feel like she wouldn't care either way.

"Are you sure, love?" Enzo asks her, a frown marring his face as if he, too, wants to talk her out of it.

Bonnie smiles, truly, and nods. She holds his face in her hands and kisses him long and deep. Enzo returns it with equal fervor.

"I love you, Lorenzo St. John."

Tears spring forth at the corners of his eyes and he nods, too. He doesn't need to say anything, Bonnie knows. Still, he whispers the words back over and over. Each word caressed with adoration and love like he can't get enough of her.

"Forever?" He recites, a single tear falling as he smiles down at her. She's already got his blood swimming through her veins.

"Forever." She promises in return.

And with a swift snap, Bonnie falls forward into Enzo's awaiting arms and into the next stage of her life. At the same time, Elena gasps for breath. Damon smiles widely as he helps Elena into a sitting position. He immediately brings his lips to her forehead, hardly able to help himself after seeing her doe-brown eyes again.

"D-Damon?"

"Hi, baby."
