Return of a King.
The world holds many secrets. Secrets that humanity has both been trying to uncover and keep hidden. The mysteries of the world has led countless people to explore areas that would normally be to dangerous for anyone to survive in. One of those places happened to be the bottom of the ocean. Funny enough, humanity knows more about the moon than the bottom of their own oceans. Partly due to the enormous amount of water pressure that makes it harder for anything to travel down that deep without being crushed by the water. But after years of waiting, it was finally time for an highly advanced submarine to explore the deepest and darkest depths of the ocean.
The research team had arrived with some boats that they could use to study anything they found and the submarine began to travel down in to the depths. It wasn't to large, since they would need as much room as they could get to travel down there. They began deciding down the deep end and the exploration began. They looked around in awe at all the life that was living down there.
"Amazing. Who would've known so much life could survive down here?" A female researcher said as she saw some rare life forms "Some of these life forms shouldn't even exist anymore, yet they have managed to thrive away from humanity's prying eyes".
A man smiled "Amazing indeed. And now we finally have the means to know what has been living down here all these years. Take us deeper".
They continued heading further down, checking out the different lives that existed down here. Like sea bugs that were a lot bigger than the ones living further up. The woman even could've sworn she saw prehistoric water bugs that should've died out millions of years ago. Suddenly the radar began to peep.
"Interesting. The radar has picked up some kind of energy. But something like that shouldn't exist this far down" The man at the controls said.
"Take us closer. We might just have discovered something never seen before" The male researcher said.
They headed further until they reached the source of the readings. They shined their light but couldn't see anything special. Other than a rather smooth spot on the stone wall. The spot did look different from everything else, so the got a little closer.
"What is that?" The woman asked.
"Check for any sounds" The male researcher said.
The man at the controls did as he was told, and it didn't take long before they picked up sounds... and what they heard surprised them a lot. It was not what they expected to hear at all. One sound, a short pause, then it was heard again. This repeated several times until there was no doubts at all about what it was.
"Is that... a heartbeat?" The woman asked.
Before anyone could answer, the smoother spot of the wall moved a little. They kept their light at it until... a large eye suddenly opened up! It glowed blue for a single second and then suddenly boulders began to fall as the whole place began to shake. The male researcher shouted to bring them back up but there was nothing that could be done as the sub was grabbed by something and completely crushed.
Back on the surface, the captain had lost all contact with the sub "What the hell is going on down there?".
"Captain! Something is coming!" One of the crew men called out.
The captain headed outside and looked down in to the water. At first it was hard to see... but soon his eyes became wide as he realized something was heading towards them... something massive!
"Move! Get the boat away from here before-!" He was unable to finish his order before the boat began shaking violently... before something lifted the entire boat in to the air, before sending it flying and it landed in the water hard.
The captain could barely hear the screams from his crew as he tried desperately to grab on to something to keep him afloat. Luckily there was an emergency boat that had managed to survive what happened. He climbed on board, coughing up some of the salt water he accidentally swallowed.
"C-captain!" He looked and saw one of his crew men desperately swimming towards him.
With no hesitation, the captain grabbed his injured crew man and pulled him in to the boat. The water burst again and the two men looked, their eyes wide with shock as something that looked like a large tail came out of the water, before disappearing as suddenly as it had appeared.
"Captain... what was that?!" The crew man asked.
The captain didn't answer. He had been on the sea for over 30 years, and seen just about everything the wast ocean had to offer. Yet he had never seen anything like that before. Just what had they awakened down there? Whatever it was, it wouldn't stay secret for long. Something had returned, and it was more than willing of announcing it to the rest of the world.
The following day we go to technological marvel known as Academy City.
A landlocked sovereign city-state whose territory consists of a walled enclave within the Tokyo Metropolitan Employment Area. Academy City is a highly developed place in terms of technology. It is said to be 20 to 30 years ahead of the rest of the world. Eighty percent of its 2. 3 million residents are students. The focus of studies here is directed towards esper powers. This leads us to our main girls of the city. Mikoto Misaka, one of the top level espers in town, being a level 5, which is currently the highest level a esper can reach, but research in to level 6 are still going on, but for now Mikoto is the third most powerful level 5 in the city. Sh shares a room with Kuroko Shirai, another high level esper, being a level 4, who is a member of Judgement, a law enforcing agency composed of students. Both attend to Tokiwadai, a private school reserved for the high-leveled and the rich. Kuroko's partner at Judgement, Kazari Uiharu, is a low level esper, being only a level 1, who studies at Sakugawa middle school. Her best friend and classmate there is Ruiko Saten, a level zero, who has no esper powers at all. Together, the four have encountered several adventures in the exciting scientific town.
They were hanging out together like they often do, talking about random stuff and so far the day has been fairly calm. But the flower girl of the group, Kazari, had noticed her best friend had been silent for a while now. She looked over and saw her friend had her eyes glued on something on her phone. Must be something interesting... given she hasn't even tried to flip Kazari's skirt at all today. And for her friend to not do that, she must be really distracted by something. Which warranted some attention.
"Ummm, Saten? What are you looking at?" Kazari asked.
Ruiko blinked as she looked up at her friends "Oh, sorry, I was reading a news article".
"A news article? What could it be that got you so interested in it?" Mikoto asked.
"Well, last night a research team that were exploring the deep sea was suddenly in some kind of accident. It was so bad, only two survived long enough to be rescued" Ruiko began explaining.
"That is tragic... But why are you so in to it?" Kuroko asked.
"They questioned the survivors but they claim that there was no accident. They say something attacked them, some kind of creature. They said they saw a large tail come out of the water" Ruiko answered.
"A tail? Where they hit by whale or something?" Kazari asked.
Ruiko looked back at the article "Not from what I can see. They claim it was something that couldn't be described".
Kuroko sighed as she shook her head "Poor guys. The experience must've been so bad they ended up seeing things. I can't blame them, it's not uncommon for scary situations to lead to the victims seeing something that isn't there".
"Yeah, maybe you are right. Still wouldn't it be exciting if there really was some kind of creature out there? A creature that was unlike any other life in the world, and simply couldn't be explained?" Ruiko asked.
"I think that would be more scary than exiting. Well enough about a fantasy monster, time for some shopping" Mikoto declared, she had been looking forward to a good shopping spree... and a new Gekota was said to come out today, and she was not missing the chance to get it.
The other girls smiled and followed the level 5. Little did they know, Ruiko was right on the money with what she said.
Elsewhere a village had been completely destroyed. A rescue team was already on site, digging out survivors from their ruined homes. Everyone were badly injured and would need urgent medical attention. A man was searching for more survivors until he saw a girl whimpering to herself.
He hurried up to her "It's ok ma'am. You are safe now".
"I saw it... I saw it... I saw it..." The woman repeated.
"What? What did you see?" The man asked.
The woman slowly looked at him, her eyes wide with insanity "God... I saw a God".
The man had no idea how to respond to that. So he made sure the woman was safely evacuated from the area. He looked at the devastation. Something didn't make sense about it. This area was not known for any major disasters, so why did it look like a bomb had been dropped on it? He thought about what that woman said to him. But he shook his head, there no way a living being could've caused this... then why did he get the feeling she was right?
Back in Academy City the sun was starting to descend beyond the horizon, meaning it would be dark soon, and curfew was in effect. Mikoto and Kuroko said goodbye to their friends and headed back to their Dorms. Tokiwadai Middle School, one of the five most prestigious schools of Academy City and is said to be the most renowned girls' school in the world. It is also mentioned that it had once sparked an international incident for refusing to admit a girl from a royal family because she wasn't good enough.
But for now, Mikoto and Kuroko just calls it home. They got to their room and put the stuff they bought away. Mikoto fell on her bed with a satisfied sigh, this had been a good day. She even found the Gekota she wanted... and bought it in secret of course. She don't need her friends teasing her about her childish love for the little frog.
"Well, I can say this was good day" Mikoto said as she closed her eyes.
"I must agree Onee-Sama. The stores had some really good stuff this time" Kuroko said as she smiled at the things she had bought, and let out a silent giggle.
Mikoto heard it and got suspicious "Say what did you buy after you walked of on your own?".
"Oh just some shampoo. It's said to be good for the skin. You should try it" Kuroko offered.
"That shampoo wouldn't happen to contain aphrodisiacs, right?" Mikoto asked with narrowed eyes.
"Oh no, of course not" Kuroko said.
Oh, forgot to tell you all. Kuroko is mostly known for being a blunt, focused and serious Judgment officer. But when it comes to Mikoto... She is a massive pervert. She always looks for excuses to hug her Onee-Sama, and has even groped her more than once. She claims she does it out of her undying love for the level 5 Railgun. But while it might be true, it doesn't make her perverted advances any less annoying to the young level 5 who always needs to give her friend a good shock or punch to knock her back to reality.
"Right. Well I will still stick to my own shampoo for now" Mikoto said, earning a small pout from her roommate.
Still, they talked for a while until it was time to get ready for bed. They put on their pajamas and got in to bed. They wished each other a good night before settling in for a nice sleep... little did they know, this night would be anything but a good one. Because as they slept, something was getting closer to Academy City. And it was not slowing down for anything in it's way.
Not far from the city, loud footsteps were heard... something massive was slowly walking through the darkness. It could barely bee seen, and if not for it's eyes sparking blue every now again, it would've been nearly impossible to tell it was even there. It was searching for something. But the energy source it used to feed on had become more rare, so it would need to find an alternative if it was going have any chance of sustaining itself. But what?
Suddenly it stopped and looked towards a city... Academy City. It had never seen it before, but it could sense the massive amount of energy in it. More than it had ever sense before. Yes... that will do.
Letting out a low growl the massive creature began making it's way towards the city.
Mikoto's eyes suddenly snapped open when her blissful sleep was jarringly interrupted by a very loud alarm. It was the kind of alarm that would normally only go of if the city was about to be attacked. Mikoto sat up and noticed Kuroko was already out of her bed.
"What is happening?" Mikoto asked.
"I don't know, but the alarm is blaring, so we need to evacuate, now!" Kuroko said before throwing a robe to Mikoto "Put that on, there is no time to change in to our uniforms".
Mikoto nods as she puts on the robe and steps in to her slippers. They walked out of their dorm and noticed all the other students were already running out of the building. The Tokiwadai Dorm Supervisor arrived, her stern look full with worry.
"What are you waiting for?! Evacuate with the others now!" She ordered.
"What is happening?" Mikoto asked, forgetting how terrifying the Supervisor is for the moment.
"I don't know yet. But until we find out more, the dorms are not safe. Now move!" The Supervisor commanded.
Getting no arguments from the girls, as they hurried out with the rest. Once they got out they noticed something in the distance... it was hard to make out, but it was something massive... and they also saw smoke... a lot of smoke.
Both girls got worried as they knew Ruiko and Kazari lived near that area.
Said girls were also being evacuated to a shelter. But the panik was a lot higher since they were closer to the incident. In the panik, Ruiko ended up getting lost. She would end up running down a different path. And by the time she realized it, she was already far away from the others. She was getting scared but tried her best to stay calm. Maybe if she got higher up she could figure out where to go.
With no other plan in her head, she managed to enter a building and began running up the stairs towards the roof. As she ran the building violently shook, almost making her fall. Still she pressed on until she finally got to the roof. She took a few moments to catch her breath... until she heard the loud footsteps again... they were close, very close. In fact... they were right next to the building.
Ruiko slowly looked up, at first she saw a large scaly chest. But as her head continued to rise, she would soon realize she was looking at a creature that was taller than the very building she was standing on, which was saying a lot, since she was standing on one of the taller buildings in the city... far larger than any creature should be, to the point Ruiko had to strain her neck just to see how tall it really was. Then... she saw the face.
The darkness made it hard to make out what she was looking at, but glowing eyes was looking down at her. They were studying her, as if checking if she was a threat or not. After several tense moments the creature's mouth opened, and let out a roar that could shake the heavens.
"SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOORRRRRRRRNNK!".
Ruiko screamed as she fell to her knees covering her ears, which had nearly been deafen from the loud roar. And in the moment, she as convinced she was going to die... but then the footsteps were heard again. Ruiko dared to open her eyes again and saw the massive creature walking away. So she wasn't considered a threat after all... the only reason she was still alive.
Even so... Ruiko had never felt so scared in her life. She thought for sure she was going to die... she was lucky... extremely lucky.
As for the creature. It walked over to a building and smelled it before growling and began destroying it. It then dug it's large scaly hand in to the ground and pulled out some kind of machine. Suddenly the plates on it's back began to glow and spark. This kept up for a couple of minutes until all the energy was drained from the machine. The creature then let it go and began to calmly make it's way out of the city.
Ruiko watched it leave... just what had she just seen?

READ THIS! IMPORTANT!
Yeah, here is a brand new story I never expect to take a shot at. For those who don't know, I am a very big fan of Godzilla and I love the A Certain Scientific Railgun anime. And somehow I thought: Hey! What if Godzilla showed up in the A Cartain world? How would that world and the characters in it handle the unstoppable force of nature that is Godzilla? So I decided, what the hell, let's do this crazy crossover.
For now I am merely experimenting with the idea. And I am open to suggestions, NOT requests, only suggestions. So give me some ideas if you want.
If you wonder what Godzilla will look like in this story. Well I wrote out Legendary Godzilla right away, since it felt like it made more sense to use an Japanese Godzilla since this story will take place in Japan. I also didn't want to use Godzilla earth, even though I like the concept of the movies. The shape and look of his body is highly inspired by Snow Godzilla from Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion the Movie.
Remove the snow, and that movie's version of Godzilla honestly looks more like an ideal look for an anime Godzilla. So in short: He looks like Snow Godzilla, without the snow. And in case the text was confusing, his roar will be his most iconic Japanese roar.
.
With that out of the way, please tell me your thoughts.
