Sunset looked through a test tube inside her laboratory, being careful not to get too close for it would contain a dangerous substance that could potentially destroy the world among other things.
Fascinating Sunset thought.
Before she got too into it, a colleague of hers sporting bright orange hair and sporting another lab coat.
"Are you having fun?" Adagio asked, sneaking up on her.
"Oh sorry I kinda got really into it" Sunset replied.
"I see, I guess I shouldn't expect anything less from someone who studies demonology," Adagio said.
Sunset kinda blushed at the words Adagio said to her, even though they are colleagues there was a bit of tension rising from both of them.
"So how's the testing of that crystal that the recovery team found?" Sunset asked, changing the subject.
"Testing has proven fruitful but results have come up with some of our test subjects coming out angry" Adagio said.
"Oh that's good I guess," Sunset said.
Adagio nodded before leaving to go to another department, Sunset breathed a sigh of relief and calmed herself down before going back to the test tube full of red liquid that seemed to take a liking to Sunset. She was confused but also in a trance like state, it was as if the substance was calling out to her. The blaring alarm broke the trance from Sunset, the P.A. system repeated the phrase "Containment breach, please exit to the nearest exit in an orderly fashion" and Sunset accidentally knocked over the tube and that liquid attached itself to Sunset. She was too panicked to care and ran out of the lab and left to the entrance where everyone was including Adagio.
"You okay?" Adagio asked.
"Yeah I'm doing okay, what caused the breach?" Sunset replied, looking around.
"Don't know, the guards didn't say so, all they said to each of us is to get out of the building and wait for further instruction. It might have been a chemical spill or something like that" Adagio explained.
"Damn," Sunset said.
After some time, the red liquid from before has now sucked itself inside Sunset's skin, she gets a bit of a shiver but it goes away within 2 seconds of what just happened. The armed guards come out to inform everyone that the containment breach has been lifted. Everyone went back inside the laboratory including Sunset and her colleague Adagio, who went back to her department with the crystal.
After work, Sunset drove back to her apartment and when she opened her door she felt a strange cold feeling rush over her.
Hello Sunset Shimmer, I thank you for giving me new life
"Who said that?" Sunset asked, entering her apartment and locking the door quickly.
Don't be alarmed, I am not going to harm you but in fact I chose you
"Choose me?" Sunset asked, looking confused.
Yesss~ For you see Sunset, for thousands of years we have been scoring the Earth to find a suitable host that will destroy the cursed ones
"Cursed ones? Wait you mean angels" Sunset said, looking at her hand.
The angels are the ones who believe that they're ways are always right but my kind are having a difference in opinion but those angels never want to hear us talk
"So you're a demon but angels want to eradicate you? That could bring an unstable ground work, not just but everyone would be nice and that's just creepy" Sunset expressed.
Exactly, so we chose you because your the one who can quell the storm and changing the mind of angels
"So basically kill them?" Sunset asked.
Yes I am just a voice in your head
"Makes sense, well to be honest I have been reading a lot of demonology so I'm not entirely freaked out" Sunset said.
Oh that helps, most people I try to communicate with try to go all religion on us, yeah I get it that demons that we're not always evil but all we want is for humans to live
"Wow you guys sound like you have a hard time with angels" Sunset said, showing some sympathy towards the demon voice in her head.
They started this war and they hide themselves inside humans and try to spread their so called "gospel" around to anyone who is within ear shot
"So out of curiosity, how can I tell if someone is an angel disguised as just a regular human?" Sunset asked.
Your eyes will flash green when you sense a disguised angel and to kill them, well they can be killed just like regular humans because when they possess a human that makes them vulnerable
Sunset pondered that idea but the only weapon she had in her possession was a katana that she bought out of some blacksmith outside of town. She grabbed the sword and pulled it out it's scabbard and looked at it, through the blade her eyes began to change from green to a bright orange which freaked her out that she dropped the sword.
"Holy shit" Sunset said.
She then looked at her right hand and noticed that her fingernails had grown into claws, ranging at small but dangerous claws.
"Okay not going to lie, this is actually kind of cool but still weird" Sunset said to herself.
Also don't be scared to kill anyone, just know that it's not human anymore, just an angel wanting to "purify" the world
This was an entirely new feeling for Sunset but that would have to wait until tomorrow morning where she could test the limits to her abilities.
Adagio was driving home after doing some final tests on that red crystal wrapped around a choker necklace strap that when approached by a normal human, they exhibit rage or some other emotion depending on the type of music being played. Something pondered her, the thought that continued to plague her mind was the strange substance Sunset was working on before the containment breach. As she was driving, all of a sudden an angel appeared out of nowhere, Adagio swerved out of the way and ran off the road and hit a tree nearby.
"Ugh my head" Adagio said, lifting her head up and unbuckling her seat belt and getting out of her car.
As she was able to crawl out of the damaged car, she noticed the angel standing in front of her and offering his hand to help her up.
"Oh thank you," Adagio said.
"You're welcome child, I am here to cleanse this world from dark forces that plague this world" said the angel to Adagio, spreading his wings.
"Dark forces? Like what?" Adagio asked.
"Demons my child, they wish to harm our way of life and bring about darkness and destruction" said the angel.
Adagio was skeptical but continued to let the angel speak, even though she could see through the smelly bullshit.
"Listen, I want to help you live a fulfilling and plentiful life full of God's grace" said the angel.
Adagio was still mildly confused at what happened before this so-called angel came over to her and started having a conversation with her.
"Right, I'm not really into what you practice but if you say it will fulfill my life in whatever or whoever's grace you're talking about" Adagio said.
She took his hand and he fused his spirit into Adagio, giving off a bright light that illuminated the dark forest in the night, then it went back to darkness again. Adagio's clothes changed from normal to angelic white and also had wings tattooed on her back.
"Now I can cleanse the world" Adagio said smirking.
