The question was simple enough: What happens after you die? It was very surprising to hear such a dark, depressing question from Starfire, who was usually such a happy, carefree person. He would've expected Raven or maybe even Cyborg, on certain nights, but never Starfire or even Beastboy.

Each member had a different answer:

Cyborg thought that we would end up somewhere like Heaven. He grew up in a Christian household, and even though he didn't necessarily believe everything the bible said, he believed in something similar. Beastboy took longer to answer than Cyborg. For once it seemed he actually thought before speaking. His response was something out of a children's book. There would be rivers flowing with chocolate, and clouds made out of cotton candy. Animals would be everywhere, and they would roam free in meadows. Raven, after poking fun at Beastboy for his answer, but never actually putting him down for it, said that she believed there was nothing. It was a much more depressing thought, but he respected it. Starfire then looked at him for an answer, everyone was curious to what he thought.

"I'm not sure." He scratched the back of his head. "What do you think, Starfire?" Even though she was annoyed by him avoiding the question, she still answered.

"I believe in coming back. That we have a restart in life," She paused, perhaps to think. "To redo our mistakes." He didn't pay much mind into that answer as his friends did. Sure, it was deeper than what he would expect from his girlfriend, but everyone gets deep sometime in their life.

They stared at him, waiting for his answer. He didn't care enough to think of one.

"I can always ask my brother Jason." He recalled the mood darkening in the car, they hated it when he brought up his recently-resurrected brother. "He might remember."

Starfire insisted that he try to think of one on his own.

He struggled to come up with any words. "Maybe we are sent to wherever we believe in." Such as Christians going to Heaven, and Buddhists being reincarnated. They still seemed slightly upset for his lack of thought, but they allowed it to slide. An answer from Robin was a win for them in their eyes.

He wished that he could go back to that moment and give them a real answer. The correct answer, because sadly soon after that conversation, there was an accident.

An accident that had killed him.

If he could have come back to that moment in time, he would've listened to Starfire more. To really understand what she had meant by "redoing our mistakes".

Because it seemed, out of all of them, her answer was the closest to what actually happened after death.
