It was like any other event at the Olympic games of beijing. Crowds were holding flags for their favorite character and contestants were pumped to win or even hit a new record. But there was only one problem,it started to drizzle a bit. The rain got progressively worse. Shadow and the rest of the next competitors were sitting on the waiting bench for other people to finish their 110m meter hurdles. Shadow sat there with his arms folded and eyes closed waiting for his turn until he heard Amy make conversation with Blaze right next to him which caught his eye.

"Isn't Sonic so cute Blaze?.GO SONIC YOU CAN DO THIS!" Amy shouted with a little bit of enthusiasm. Blaze replied with a tiny chuckle at Amy's over excitement. Shadow looked at the pink haired hedgehog in utter confusion. He was surprised that even though it was raining rapidly, she still was Sonic's little cheerleader and was dampening her rose-colored tracksuit in the process. He started to sigh at her stupidity.

Shadow stared at Sonic preparing really for the hurdles, He didn't understand the point of his popularity. Amy wasn't just the only one cheering for him, there were flags everywhere for the blue blur. Heck, the audience had more blue flags than the red Mario flags.

"Sonic is gonna nail this one…. Amy you don't have to worry, " replied an optimistic Blaze sitting on the bench like everyone else but Amy. She gave Blaze a wink of gratitude. Amy still was cheering for Sonic even though he was only stretching. Shadow could sense Sonic's embarrassment all the way from the track set since the blue blur gave Amy a nervous looking smile while waving awkwardly. It seemed like the event was finally about to start.

"On your marks," the announcer said. Amy squatted on the wet ground .

"Get set," Amy squatted even lower.

"GO!" The announcer shouted. Amy jumped up in a standard cheerleading position. She started to shout "Go team Sonic" with fluffy pink poms poms. Shadow was trying to figure whether Mario mushrooms were making her act this excited or what. He tried ignoring her shenanigans but little dances were too distracting and pretty loud according to the black and red hedgehog.

"Mind me asking Amy…but why are you cheering for Sonic even though it's raining?" The princess of the mushroom kingdom asked with a gymnastic water bottle in her hand.

"Well you see,Somic told me if I get first or second place,we can have a full day together with just the two of us." Amy answered, wrapping her hands together in romantic fashion. Shadow could only think what Sonic had said to her was utter buffoonery.

Afterwards,Sonic got in first place which wasn't that much of a shock to the quiet Shadow. He waved to the fans and gradually took his shining gold medal and put it around his neck. Amy decided to run up to Sonic to congratulate his achievement but was caught off guard when he left the scene out of nowhere.

"Hey, where did we run off to? Amy exclaimed to herself with a subtle look of disappointment.

"Probably anywhere trying to get away from you," laughed Wario while patting Waluigi's back so he could laugh as well. They both ended up chuckling at the pink colored rodent and it wasn't helping it was still raining so her body was soaked like a sponge.

Amy's excited expression soon turned into a huge frown. She tried to act like Wario didn't say anything so she walked away with guilt and disgust. Shadow saw the whole confrontation but didn't hear it since he was still sitting on the bench area. He did know that Wario said something to Amy that made her walk almost depressed like. Shy guy ordered the next set of participants for the herdles. Shadow walked to the starting line with everybody else. It seemed like the rain started to fade away and a cloudy like sun took over. The competitors were stretching and exercising for the event,including Amy who was doing arm stretches with her friend Blaze.

"Hey Blaze have you seen Sonic? He said he was going to watch me do this." Amy asked her purple cat friend.

"I don't know...he's probably at the chilli dog stand. I believe the Koopas were passing them out in the entrance and to the crowds, Blaze replied while extending her arms to the right side. Amy made a small sigh and proceeded to get ready. Shadow on the other hand was staring at the cloudy and sunny combination that the sun was making. He started to feel sorry for Amy since she did all of that cheering for Sonic for him not to see her perform..

"On your marks". The accoucer shouted. Shadow could see Amy's unamused face huff in rejection. He looked around for Sonic in the crowd but he wasn't even there.

"Get set". Everyone squatted down on the ground while waiting for the monotoned announcer to say go.

"GO!" Everyone started to sprint and jump through all of the hurdles. It seemed like Shadow had a slight advantage since he trained the other night. Amy was trying to catch up to Shadow to prove her worth to Sonic. But once she thought about her future blue boyfriend,something drastic happened. Amy tripped on one of the hurdles and scraped half of her leg.

"AGHHH!" Screamed an agonized Amy while falling on the brownish red like flooring. Shadow quickly turned to see if she was alright while Wario and the others were passing him by. Blaze tried to help her up as well.

"We need a medic over here..NOW!," said a worried Blaze while picking Amy up. Shadow thought he wasn't the type of person to help the weak,but his heart told him to see if she was okay. There was blood leaking on her left leg that dripped on the wet floor.

"Is she going to be okay?" asked a wide- eyed Shadow. Blaze was surprised to hear him worry about another person,especially someone he barely knows.

"I hope so,the koopas should be here any minute to get her to the hospital room," replied Blaze. Amy started to cry a bit from the pain which made Shadow sweat in fear. He looked at the people going ahead of them in pure hatred since they were more focused on winning than helping the poor hedgehog. The koopas finally came to the rescue and grabbed Amy and raced her to the hospital. Blaze followed them in a fast paste to see if her friend was going to be okay. Shadow stood there however and tried to figure out whether to check on Amy or continue on another event with the rest.

"Why do I care so much for her….." Shadow said to himself. He later realized that her exciting and hyper attitude kind of reminded him of the now deceased Maria. He started to have flashbacks about the blonde haired girl until someone knocked him out of his daydream.

"Hey emo,you got in sixth place,you can go now," said the Shy guy coach with a stricted voice. Shadow snapped out of it and heard the crowd boo at him .Shadow then realized that people had been waving their yellow flags for Wario since he won the competition. "I finally got the chance to defeat that stupid black rodent," Wario shouted to the audinece with intensed joy. He really wasn't the type of person to care about petty things like that so he walked off to the entrance hall to find the hospital section. Once Shadow was looking for the correct directions,he found Sonic chatting with a black haired female cat in a flirtatious voice which caught his crimson eyes.
