A/N: Ok, we got a new story.
I wasn't all that fond of the Sun and Moon anime (coming off the hype of XY, it was a little disappointing) and I wished that they'd passed the torch to a new protagonist, which is what this is.
This takes place 4 years after the events of XY, (I have Ash at about 14 in Gen 6 in this timeline, meaning that he is 18 here)
This is not canon to any of my other fics
If you know me, then you should know that there will be some Amour in this fic.
This isn't a dual protagonist story, we have one protagonist, and Ash is a mentor figure.
And this WILL NOT follow the storyline of the Gen 7 anime, this will follow the storyline of the games.
Now on to the story!
Pros about moving to Alola: it was warm, it wasn't cloudy all the time, and you didn't have adults complaining about the "incident" between Kyorge and Groudon. Cons: friends were all back in Hoenn, there are no gym leaders here, and the sun decided to be up way too early.
Taiyo pulled her blanket over her head. She didn't want to think about the boxes that she had to unpack and the boxes that were getting delivered that day.
"Taiyo, the rest of our stuff is here," she heard her mom call from the kitchen.
Maybe if I just pretend I'm sick, I won't have to do anything, Taiyo thought.
Her mom stepped into her room.
"Let me guess, you miss Hoenn so much that you've taken to recreating Sootopolis with the moving boxes I asked you to unpack yesterday, hmm?"
"Sorry mom, I'm just so sick," Taiyo groaned, adding in some convincing coughs to fool her mom.
Taiyo's mom shook her head, "You're not sick at all, I've been caring for you since you were a baby, you always beat the sun up whenever you're sick."
Taiyo sighed, her mom was right.
"Now get up, I want your stuff unpacked and I want this room spotless when I come back."
Taiyo blinked a few times then looked at her mom, she was wearing a floral blouse and a black skirt, "You're going into the office?"
"Yep, and when I come back, we'll go shopping for some new clothes and I'll take you out for dinner if you can unpack every box in here and the boxes that came in from Hoenn, deal?" Her mom said, holding her hand out.
Taiyo sat up and looked at her mom directly in the eyes and firmly shook her hand.
"Good, and fix your hair, it looks like a Raticate's nest."
Taiyo rolled her eyes and slid off her bed, dropping about five feet.
"I wish you'd use the ladder, jumping off the top of that bed is bad for your ankles."
To this Taiyo rolled her eyes again and turned to the box by her feet, labeled Taiyo's Wall. She had a few posters and art she hung up, her mom said she'd snuck in a surprise so why not figure that out first.
There was a corkboard on the wall above her desk so she took some of the thumbtacks from the package on her desk and started sticking up some photos. Her friends, that we're probably having the greatest time at the concert she'd promised to go to, and here she was, in Alola, alone. Her mom told her that she'd make friends in no time, of course, every mom in the history of the universe said that to their kid who was depressed about leaving their friends.
After she tacked up the photos, she grabbed a drawing. Her school had been selected to send student designs for the Master Tournament, an invite-only Tournament of the best trainers in the world, and by some fluke of the universe, the organizers picked her design and she'd never let anyone forget it.
Of course, no one cares about that here, Taiyo thought.
"Wait a sec, is this the Indigo League Limited Edition Poster I've been trying to find since I could walk?" Taiyo said in bewilderment.
"OH MY ARCEUS IT IS, MOM I LOVE YOU!" She squealed, her inner fangirl taking over.
She took a few deep breaths before hanging the poster, squealing a bit as she turned away.
It took her a few hours to unpack and set up all the furniture, but once she was done, she flopped down on her beanbag and sighed. But her moment of triumph was interrupted by her phone vibrating.
"Hi honey, by my guesstimate you should be done with your room, there are about six boxes in the living room you need to unpack, see you in an hour," Taiyo said, reading her mom's text aloud.
"I take it back," she mumbled.
After about an hour, Taiyo flopped onto the couch.
"You look like you need a coffee."
"Hi Mom," Taiyo yawned.
"Don't go yawning yet, we got some shopping to do."
"Right," Taiyo said.
"Alright hun, I wanna see it," Taiyo's mom called.
Taiyo stepped out of the dressing room. She was wearing thin black capris that were under slate grey shorts, a seafoam green hoodie was tied around her waist, and a white and lavender layered shirt with off-shoulder sleeves and teal and silver tennis shoes, and a teal visor with a white Pokeball symbol.
Taiyo's mom clapped her hands together, "You look perfect, now, how bout some dinner."
"Finally, I'm starving," Taiyo said.
Taiyo and her mom left with a large bag full of new clothes for Taiyo and a new backpack. Both she and her mom had a more casual outfit on. Taiyo was wearing a royal blue tank top and white shorts and was wearing brown sandals. Her mom was wearing a white tank top and a pair of jean shorts with a pair of black flip flops.
"This is some of the best food I've ever eaten."
"Same."
"See there are some good things about moving here, we'd never get this kind of service and this kind of food in Sootopolis, now would we?"
Taiyo shrugged.
"Well, I've heard there's some kind of festival in Ikki Town, maybe we could go and you could make some new friends, how bout that?"
"What kind of festival?"
"I'm not sure, something about a festival for one of the island deities."
Taiyo raised an eyebrow.
"C'mon, it'll be fun."
"Okay," Taiyo sighed.
A/N: This is a short chapter but it's more of an intro, the action and story starts next chapter with the introduction of Lillie and Hau, and Ash into the Alola Region.
Also, Sinnoh Remakes are happening along with Legends: Arceus and I'm hyped.
And we now have all the Champions in Pokemon Masters (finally!)
AND POKEMON ADVENTURES (or Pokemon Special, more commonly known as Pokespe) WAS MENTIONED IN THE POKEMON STREAM, and that was probably the highlight of that whole intro.
If you haven't read Pokespe, I highly recommend it, it's great
(Also shout out to IAmDomeAceTucker who helped create Taiyo's character with me)
