My interpretation of what might have happened after the episode cut in S8 ep11.Hailey's heavy breats began to subside, after falling apart in Jay's protective arms, and she slowly pulled out the long hug to look Jay in the eyes. looking up at him, Hailey could see how red and teary Jay's eyes were; the mirror image of the state of her own eyes. "Hey" Jay softly breathed. "Hey" Hailey sheepishly retorted, flicking her gaze across Jay's face. For the next couple of seconds, they just stared into each others eyes- telling each other things they couldn't verbally say out loud just yet. Yes, they just discovered they could open up, but they still felt the most safe when they talked with the eyes.
"take your coat off, please" Hailey tugged gently at the corner of Jay's coat, encouraging him to take it off. "You sure?" Jay checked, stopping Hailey before his coat was fully off. "Yes, Jay. I just want you" Jay couldn't believe how vulnerable and still a little scared Hailey looked below him, she looked like a tiny child begging to be protected and loved. "Okay" He smiled, taking off his coat and folding it over the back of one of the kitchen stools.
Hailey dragged them both over to the sofa, letting Jay sit down before she buried herself under his arm; resting her head against his chest. She finally felt like she belonged, like she was totally safe when she was with Jay. "I'm sorry for running. I never said it" Hailey said, still feeling guilty for running out on Jay earlier in the day. "Shh, it's okay. I get it. I've got you now...forever" Jay assured Hailey, rubbing Hailey's back with his hand soothingly. "Thankyou" Hailey yawned, dropping off snuggled against Jay's side. Jay smiled down at Hailey, kissing the crown of her head as she fell into a deep sleep. "Come on, let's get you to bed" Jay whispered, scooping Hailey tightly in his arms, standing up and walking to Hailey's bedroom. skillfully, he pulled back the duvet cover one-handed and lay Hailey down ever so delicately. "wait...Jay" Hailey mumbled, reaching out her arm. "I'm not going anywhere, I'm just going to the other side" Jay assured Hailey once again. "I know that...but I want waffles tomorrow morning" Hailey muttered, making Jay chuckle out loud. "Ofcourse, Hails" Jay smiled, kissing Hailey's cheek and sinking into the mattress.
