Impact hit hard. The evacuation pod, charred and battered, opened up with a metal-on-metal screech. Starscream crawled out holding his wing; it had been damaged during the landing and was bent torturously, energon dribbling from a crease of plating that had bent so hard it split. He clenched his dentes and tried to bear the agony without yelling. While tremors of sharp pain rocked his sensory net, a steady, dull ache was building there as well... Starscream drew away his claws and saw that they were covered in blood, his own this time around. His red optics widened as he looked up and saw where they were.

An eerie, sick pink glow illuminated Starscream, and then Shockwave as he emerged from the wrecked pod. Cybertron's smaller moon was visible on the horizon, and beyond it, the metal planet itself. They had crash-landed on Luna 1. Shockwave's single optic showed no surprise- "The pod's malfunction was severe," he said. "Luna 1 has a cache on its northeast side. It would be logical to look for supplies there to repair our transport." At this, Starscream gave an indignant gasp, wings flaring, which just sent more waves of sharp pain down his back. "The transport? I am clearly more in need of repair, can't you see that I'm the one leaking energon here?!"

Shockwave just looked at him. The seeker's wings sank again. "Fine. But you can at least give me something for the pain," he hissed. The cogs in Shockwave's intelligent mind were turning. And then he spoke; "Due to your injury and requirement to bring the evacuation pod with us, we must walk." He was right of course, he was always right... Starscream glared at him for a moment and then used his instruments to find their heading. "That way," he said, looking towards their new course, which was dotted with rubble and ridges ripping out of the ground. "Starscream. I require assistance." He turned to see Shockwave motioning to the pod. They both took a side and lifted- but once Starscream put pressure on his shoulder workings, a hot wave of pain raced through him. He yelped and dropped it. "We... We'll have to leave it here, I suppose," he said. "We can bring parts to it." Shockwave saw the logic in that and agreed. Starscream cradled his bad shoulder, and they began the long trek over Luna 1's vast metallic surface.

The gravitational pulls here were different... But enough to keep them on the ground. They had been walking for a joor when a faint sound registered in the seeker's processor. The pain was unbearable, and he ignored the noise to keep walking; but both mechs froze as another sound broke the silence. It was an echo of some unnatural scream. A cold shiver ran through Starscream's back strut... He never got spooked by just noises. But something about that echo, floating through the black emptiness, made him nervy- "We're not alone, are we..." he breathed. Shockwave's delicate antennae raised slightly as he tried to identify the source. But it was unfamiliar to him as well.

"It would be logical to increase our pace," he said, voice void of emotion, but Starscream could tell that the mech did not want to find out what had made that screech.
