A/N: hello again, everybody. Here I am with my latest submission to my Gilligan's Island Fan Fiction series. For Thanksgiving, I have decided to offer up this story of Mary Ann putting her culinary skills to great use-not only for this holiday, but, hopefully, for many more to come, especially with the future family she looks to make with Gilligan, as well. Another chapter will follow shortly. Enjoy! And, to those who are partaking, Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks to another floating crate which traipsed into the lagoon one recent morning, the castaways were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with turkey, ham, and all the fixings.
This delighted Mary Ann to no end. She was not only eager to prepare her first Thanksgiving dinner in four years, just prior to her being shipwrecked with the others aboard the S.S. Minnow. Not only was she doing this for her fellow castaways, but one, as well: her fiancé, William, for whom she was cooking her first formal full-course non-island-based meal. She really wanted to make this meal a very special one. And she and their girlfriend, Ginger, had been working, gladly, on making this one very special meal to remember.
William, along with Skipper, helped with peeling the potatoes, both regular and sweet. Mary Ann oversaw overseeing the bread which would be used in the stuffing. There was even some pork sausage she could use in her mixture. Onions and mushrooms found on the island, along with celery, were also mixed in.
Professor Roy put the macaroni and cheese together, using elbow macaroni contained inside the crate, along with three different cheeses, American, Swiss, and Cheddar. He also found some canned milk to use, along with coconut milk from the island, to put things together.
Mr. and Mrs. Howell were holding the cranberry sauce. They looked forward to opening it up on Thanksgiving Day. They continued to relax in quiet anticipation of the big meal which awaited them.
Although there was no pumpkin to be had for a pumpkin pie, Mary Ann was undeterred.
"So, what are you going to use instead of pumpkin for pie?" Ginger asked her girlfriend.
"Oh, these sweet potatoes that Skipper and my fiancé are peeling will not go to waste, trust me on that," Mary Ann said, smiling all the while as she prepared this holiday feast—gladly.
"Ooh, I just love how you smile when you get that gleam in your face," Ginger said, noting how much that gleam took on a whole new meaning since Mary Ann and William became engaged.
Meanwhile, William and Skipper talked about the potatoes they were peeling.
"You don't mind peeling these potatoes with me, do you, Skipper?" William asked.
"Not at all, little buddy," Skipper replied. "It has been a long time since I had to, and besides, being that this will be the first time that we are all having this kind of Thanksgiving dinner together, this helps give me something to look forward to." Skipper had a big smile on his face in anticipation of the big meal which was awaiting them all.
Professor Roy, meanwhile, was inside his hut, putting together the macaroni and cheese, from Mary Ann's instruction. Upon inspection, Mary Ann smiled and kissed him on the cheek. Meanwhile, his main squeeze came in to view what he had been up to.
"Honey, I bet that macaroni and cheese is going to taste great!" Ginger said, placing her hand on her man's strong, broad shoulder.
"Oh, yes, it is," Roy said, "Mary Ann wrote down the instructions for me to follow and I am following them closely and intently."
"Oooh, baby, a man who is smart, handsome, and can cook," Ginger said, "is a man who knows the way to my heart in so many ways!"
"And a woman who is smart, beautiful and can cook," Roy said, "is a woman who will always have my love."
"I am so very glad I have that with you, my darling," Ginger said.
"That you do, always, my love," Roy said.
On that note, Ginger slapped Roy hard in his butt, placed the bowl with the macaroni and cheese mixture down and gave him a deep kiss, making sure not to knock the bowl over. To ensure they would not do so, Roy called Mary Ann over to take the bowl from him. Mary Ann, knowing that the Professor and Ginger were about to go at it—again—came over and took the bowl from him so that Roy and Ginger could have a quick love session inside of his hut. Mary Ann had a matter-of-fact look about her the entire time.
"Doesn't this feel like a full-course meal, every time we get together like this?' Ginger said, smiling seductively.
"All the time, my love," Roy said, going over his Ginger's succulent voluptuous body, as his girlfriend, in turn, took to Roy's with the exact same fervor he was getting from her.
The Howells, taking their cue from what they were hearing coming out of the Professor's hut, quietly got up and went into their own hut to have some special time to themselves. Ever since the Halloween party, in which Mrs. Howell dressed as a Playboy bunny, their lovemaking became even more intense, as well.
With Skipper, William, and Mary Ann left behind to work on the cooking, Skipper had an idea.
"Say, Gilligan, why don't you go see if Mary Ann needs a hand," he suggested.
"You're sure, Skipper?" William asked.
"Yes," Skipper answered, "go ahead."
"Okay, Skipper," William said, leaving to go towards the kitchen area where Mary Ann was preparing the food. For this occasion, Roy had built an extra, larger oven for Mary Ann to use not just for this meal…but others she may feel compelled to make in the future, as well. William joined his fiancée to see if he could help her.
"Yes, honey," Mary Ann said, "watch and learn."
Mary Ann not only used herbs and seasonings she found in the crate, but also those she had put together, as well, in tandem with Roy, to replicate those she had been taught to put together as a child, owing to her Louisiana roots. She showed her husband how she was going to season the turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes, giving them a special taste, they likely would not have had before. This was a Mary Ann they were getting a whole other taste of.
And this was a Mary Ann William was hoping to get used to, particularly, especially once they become husband and wife and he would be subjected to these kinds of dinners on a regular basis—especially in the event of a rescue.
Something William was so looking forward to.
As was Mary Ann.
