Chapter 1: Celebrating Momo Hinamori's Birthday
Momo was still asleep but had woken up to some noises outside.
She was having anxiety as she covered her ears and face with her pillow, trying to block out the loud noises.
Then, a knock was heard at her door.
Momo sat up and stared at it.
Was she hearing things?
The door knocked again.
"Momo. It's me, Rangiku. Can I come in?" Rangiku said.
"Oh, yes! You may Rangiku!" Momo called out.
Rangiku opened the door as she walked in and closed the door back.
"Good morning, Momo! Happy birthday!" Rangiku said.
"Thank you, Rangiku. Hey, what's going on out in the hall?" Momo asked.
"Men being men, but I wanted to ask you. Do you want a party or do you want to go shopping?" Rangiku asked.
Momo smiled. "Shopping is fine. I do want a party but…..I want a special someone to be there…" Momo said as she blushed.
"Who~? You gotta tell me, bestie.~" Rangiku said as she sat on her best friend's bed and scooted close to her.
Momo blushed deeper as she whispered in her ear.
Rangiku's face went red. "No way! For real?" Rangiku said.
Momo nodded as she blushed even more.
"Yes. But I don't know if he likes me back…..he's always so busy with work and fighting hollows." Momo said as she frowned.
"Baby girl, it's okay, I'll have someone talk to him, alright? Don't worry." Rangiku said as she hugged her friend to her bust.
Momo giggled and hugged her busty friend back.
"Thanks, Rangiku. Let's get ready. I want to go shopping for some cute dresses and skirts." Momo said.
"Make sure you let your captain know, unless he's busy with his man." Rangiku said as she giggled.
Momo giggled as she waved at her best friend as Rangiku left Momo's room.
While Momo was in the restroom getting ready, everyone else was in the kitchen getting food.
Izaya was stopped by Rangiku.
"Hey! Are you Izaya?" Rangiku asked.
Izaya smiled at her.
"I am. May I help you?" Izaya asked.
"Yes. So me and my friend are going to the mall today, and she wants a party. And also she has a crush on someone but feels like he doesn't like her back, can you help her with that?" Rangiku asked.
As Izaya was done singing the birthday card to Momo, he looked up at Rangiku.
"Who's the guy? I only met three soul reapers." Izaya said.
Rangiku got close to Izaya's ear as she whispered to him.
Izaya grinned. "I've met him. Sure. I'll try to bring him along and let him know that he has someone crushing on him.~"
"Thank you! I knew I could count on you." Rangiku said.
"You know it." Izaya replied back.
"Anyways, here's a list of what Momo likes." Rangiku said as she gave Izaya the list.
"Rangiku. I'm ready." Momo said.
Rangiku jumped up.
Izaya raised an eyebrow.
"Oh hi! I'm Momo Hinamori, it's nice to meet you!" Momo said as she bowed and introduced herself to Izaya.
"Hello, I'm Izaya. I'm kinda new here." Izaya said.
"Cool. Are you having fun at the Shinigami academy?" Momo asked.
"Kinda. But I'm getting the hang of it." Izaya said.
Momo smiled happily.
"Oh look at the time, gotta go now. Bye!" Rangiku said as she grabbed Momo by the shoulder and the two ran off.
Izaya blinked his eyes.
"Gah, that woman needs to chill out when I'm coming this way." A voice said as he groaned.
Izaya jumped up as he turned to see who was talking.
"Whoa, you gave me a scare there." Izaya said.
"Sorry about that. Anyways a party huh? I'll go." The Captain said.
Izaya stared at him, trying to remember what Rangiku told him.
As the captain was about to leave, Izaya grabbed his wrist to stop him.
"Is there a problem?" The Captain asked.
"Wait, before you go, what's your name?" Izaya asked.
While at the Mall
The besties tried on some new summer clothes and brought some new swimsuits and summer accessories.
"Aww, I hope we can go to the beach this year, it'll be a waste not going since I've brought these." Rangiku said.
"I agree, it'll be nice to take a break from fighting hollows and all." Momo replied.
The two found a spot to eat their ice cream.
"So, Momo, how long you've liked this guy?" Rangiku asked.
Momo looked away as she blushed.
"I thought you liked Aizen." Rangiku asked again.
"Used to. I mean I support him dating Captain Hirako and all but I feel like he wasn't just for me." Momo replied.
Rangiku nodded her head.
"Well, I hope that your wish comes true." Rangiku said.
Momo smiled.
The two then headed back to the soul society.
Everything was quiet.
Izaya came up running to them as he panted.
"Welcome back. Here, put this on." Izaya said as he handed Momo a dark purple blindfold.
Momo blushed as Rangiku covered her eyes with the blindfold and the three walked to the party.
"I see y'all went shopping." Izaya said.
"Crap! Izaya, I hate to use you, but can you hide our bags in my room?" Rangiku asked.
"I don't know where it is." Izaya replied.
"It's okay, Rangiku. We can hide them somewhere." Momo said.
Rangiku nodded as they continued to walk to the party.
Once they arrived, Rangiku took off the blindfold.
Momo gasped as she looked around.
"Wow~! Everything is purple and pink, my favorite colors." Momo said.
Then everyone jumped up and shouted: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOMO HINAMORI!"
Momo stepped back as she had tears in her eyes.
"For me? Thank you! Oh my gosh." Momo said as she cried.
"With the help of Izaya, of course." Shinji said.
Momo turned to Izaya as she hugged him.
"Thank you, Izaya." Momo said.
Izaya smiled and hugged her back. "You're so welcome.
Rangiku walked Momo to the cake that has purple candles on it, with purple frosting.
"Make a wish, bestie.~" Rangiku said.
Momo closed her eyes and did so.
Izaya then had someone blindfolded as he walked him to Momo.
Rangiku cut the cake.
Momo turned around as she felt a tap on her shoulder.
Momo turned around as she gasped and blushed.
Izaya took off the blindfold of Momo's crush.
Toshiro looked at her and blushed.
"Momo, I've heard that you…...have a crush on me?" Toshiro said.
"I…..I do…" Momo said as she looked away.
Toshiro held onto her chin and leaned close and kissed her.
Everyone cheered.
Rangiku ugly cried as she recorded the whole thing.
Momo blushed even redder.
Toshiro broke the kiss as he smiled.
"I like you too. Want to be my girlfriend?" Toshiro asked.
Momo happily gasped as she hugged Toshiro.
"Yes! Yes!" Momo said.
Everyone cheered once again.
"Bestie, got a boyfriend, ahhhhh!" Rangiku said.
Izaya chuckled.
"Wow, didn't know that yer also tha matchmaker, too." A voice said.
Izaya looked up and chuckled.
"Nah. Rangiku just wanted me to tell her Captain that someone has a crush on him." Izaya replied.
"Ah, I see. Well, can ya have Rangiku talk ta meh?" Gin said.
"Hmm, I can try, but we'll give her time when she isn't ugly crying." Izaya said.
After everyone has calmed down
Both Toshiro and Momo were dancing and twirling.
"Didn't know you could dance, honey.~" Momo said.
"I only show it when I feel comfortable with people I know. But right now, I am.~" Toshiro said.
Momo blushed as she giggled.
Toshiro gave her a kiss once again. "Happy Birthday, my love." Toshiro said.
"Thank you, honey ice." Momo replied.
