We passed upon the stair...

He has slicked back, dark spiky hair. A carbon colored duster with a blue charcoal scarf. A ruby brooch pinned onto the scarf. A white shirt, somewhat obscured by his black leather armor. High black boots and liquorice colored pants. Steel eyes glimmered with barely contained mischief.

Blake Raul is not a simple man. He enjoys simplicity, things blunt and laid out bare. Yet of course, his life and nature prevents that. Right now he's listening to a song on his Scroll.

We spoke of was and when...

Raul observed the other students. He craned his neck to see Signal Academy behind him. His clammy face scrunched up in disgust. He hated Signal, mostly. The teachers were nice.

Although I wasn't there...

"Rauly Pollie!" A voice yelled in his ear, Raul jumped and his headphones fell off his neck. The students however, were not so nice. "Yang, what do you want!? I'm trying to pass the time!" Raul exclaimed in frustration.

"Aw, come on Rauly Pollie, I just want to see how you were doing. Since, you are ummm, well," Yang stuttered, trying to find a way to sugarcoat it. "Since I'm the worst fighter you've ever seen?" Raul asked, dissappointed with himself.

At the entrance exam, he got the lowest passing score, a new record at that. Where as prodigies like Yang, and Ruby did it easily. Hell, Ruby got in two years early! "Come on! You're not that bad!" Ruby butted in, trying to be optimistic.

He said I was his friend...

"Says the one who's supposed to be my junior but is better at me in every way," Raul said bitterly. "You always have to be such a debbie downer Rauly Pollie," Yang flicked his head.

Raul stood up and stormed off. "Yang, that was a bit mean," Ruby scolded her sister. "I know, I'm harsh on him because I know he can do better. He's got one of the best semblances i've seen. Yet, he sucks at it," Yang explained.

"So you don't hate him?" Ruby asked with a raised brow. "No, I don't hate him. You haven't seen it Ruby, but his semblance is awesome," Yang said and Ruby began to speculate on what Raul could do.

Which came as a suprise...

Once the Bullhead landed, Raul took a deep breath. That didn't help at all, so he walked onto campus. Gulping with anxiety, not liking this. He wanted to be here, he just doesn't know if he deserves to be here.

His arm was grabbed by Yang as she speed off with him. Leaving Ruby in the dust. "Thanks for having dustshock nearby," Yang thanked him. "Yeah yeah yeah, you needed me to help you ditch your sister?" Raul asked.

"Yup, and like always you're a good friend Rauly Pollie," Yang joked, giving a soft jab to his shoulder. Raul hissed as metal and pure strength hit him. "Oooohh, sorry about that," Yang apologized as she went in front of him to the main hall.

I spoke into his eyes...

Raul rubbed his shoulder and followed. Soon purposely seperating from Yang. Standing next to a auburn haired man. His hair slicked back like Raul's except that it isn't spiky. Full armor with a bird painted on it.

"Your shoulder alright man?" He asked, looking at Raul who was rubbing his shoulder. "Yeah, a classmate gave it a wallop," Raul replied. "Cardin, Cardin Winchester," Cardin introduced himself and they shook hands.

"I'm Blake, Blake Raul," he introduced himself. "Well Blake, welcome to Beacon," Cardin chuckled. Ozpin stepped onto the stage. Giving the speech we all know.

So, all the students were sent to the auditorium for temporary resting. Because tomorrow was the initation. Raul dreaded the initation, his older brother, Silas told him all about it. It's different every year. Because Ozpin is a sadistic motherfucker.

I thought you died alone...

Silas told Raul that he had to scale down the cliff, go into the Emerald Forest, assemble a team, and kill a large Grimm. He had to fight a Hottentotsgot.

Raul sat next to Cardin and a boy wearing a mohawk. "Russel Thrush, how you doing?" Russel asked as him and Raul fist bumped. "Russ, this Blake Raul," Cardin said.

"Wanna play cards?" Raul asked as he searched through his duffel bag. "Well prepared to be annihilated then!" Russel declared dramatically. "Your on!" Cardin grinned.

While he heard some girls arguing, it didn't matter to him. Because Raul is having fun. "Royal Flush!" Russel said as he laid down his cards. "Fuck you!!" Raul jumped at him and was put in a headlock by Cardin. "Down ladies, you're both pretty," Cardin said while snickering.

A long long time ago...

Raul said goodnight to his new friends. Climbing into his sleeping bag. He played the song that was interrupted by Yang. His headphones condesning the song so only he can hear it.

Oh no, not me.

We never lost control.

You're face to face.
