1. Sickness

Izuku hung over the toilet, his head spinning. Nausea was a daily occurrence for the green haired teen. Every morning for the past 2 months his head was over the porcelain throne. The only way to stop the sickness was eating a few crackers in the morning, and drinking water.

He'd been to the doctor twice but they couldn't find anything wrong. He assumed it was a side effect of his shared quirk. Although All Might said he never had an illness when he was adjusting to One for All. Izuku just counted himself unlucky, and worked around it.

This morning was worse than normal though. He helped himself to a bowl of cereal for breakfast. He hadn't had cereal since he started training, so he thought he would treat himself. Unfortunately the sugar bowl wasn't good for his nausea.

He coughed up some more of his meal before spitting the taste out of his mouth. He hadn't heard his classmates for a while. They were all probably at class already. Izuku hated being late, but what was he going to do? He didn't have a choice. After a few minutes of feeling better he stood up straight, stretching out his sore back. He left the stall after flushing, grabbing his toothbrush.

He continued with his normal morning routine. Brush hair, brush teeth, change into his uniform, then finally walk to the main classroom building. The last few times he was late to class, he would use his quirk to get there faster. But this morning, he walked.

His head hung, his dizziness returning. His green eyes looked down at the sidewalk. It was hard keeping up a positive attitude when nearly every morning started like this. His whole demeanor took a hit, so much other students noticed. At the beginning of this mystery illness everyone stayed away from him, hoping to not catch what was making him sick. After a month they urged him to continue going to the doctors until they found out what was wrong. Now they just gave him sad looks and tried to help him out if he was looking especially bad.

He walked to his classroom door. A-1. He opened it to see Aizawa at the front of the class. The teachers head ratcheted to look at the teen. His eyes squinted in anger as Izuku stepped into the classroom.

"It's second period," the teacher turned back to the class. Izuku weakly rubbed the back of his head.

"Sorry, I was sick," he used the same excuse again. Aizawa glared at him until he reached his assigned seat. Izuku plopped into his chair, still feeling sick.

"I should have stayed in the dorm today. This is bad," he closed his eyes in thought.

Aizawa continued to teach. Izuku didn't pay any attention. His nausea was back and he had nowhere to go. He wanted to run to the bathroom. But he knew Aizawa wouldn't let him leave freely. He glared at the door, thinking if he just ran with one for all he could make it before Aizawa could be the wiser. He wasn't sure if the backdraft from him running would cause his classmates trouble, so he just sat there.

Suddenly, Hanta Sero leaned over, passing a note to him with his name on it. Izuku opened the secret note.

"You look terrible! What happened?! Should I go get Recovery Girl? - Ochako" The note was from Ochako Uraraka. His gravity controlling friend. Izuku took out a spare notebook, quietly ripping out one of the pages.

"No I'm good. Thank you for worrying. This morning was just really bad. I might go back to the dorms at break -Izuku" he passed the note back to Sero. It quietly made its way to Uraraka. As he waited for a reply from her, Katsuki Bakugo flipped a note in the air, letting it land on Izukus desk behind him. Izuku smiled as he opened it.

"Don't barf on me," Izuku deflated. Kacchan could be a sweetheart, but most of the time he was an asshole.

"What is that, Kirishima?" Aizawa glared daggers at the red haired boy. Eijiro Kirishima and Sero froze mid note pass.

"It's... paper," Kirishima smiled awkwardly. Aizawa continued to glare. Kirishima got up without prompting, and handed the note to his teacher. Aizawa read it over, then looked at Izuku. From the change of his features, angry and bitter to slightly shocked, Izuku could tell that Aizawa hadn't noticed how bad he looked. He read the note again before speaking up.

"If you feel sick enough to go back to the dorms then just go to Recovery Girl, Midoriya," he spoke in a flat tone, "I'm tired of you not paying attention because you're sick,". Izuku whined quietly, but sat up, and thanked his teacher before leaving the room.

He didn't get very far. His feet dragged, he leaned against the wall for support, and opening his eyes would send him spinning. He was in front of the 1-B classroom when he fell slumped on the wall. Luckily, Yui Kodai was returning to her class, and saw the passed out boy, red in the face and breathing heavily.

Izuku opened his eyes to see a fimilur white ceiling. He was feeling much better, he would have to thank Recovery Girl for helping him again. A cold hand on his arm startled him enough to pull away. There he saw a stranger wearing glasses. She was holding a needle up in the air.

"Oh, sorry to scare you, young man. I'm doctor Tatsumi Kaiya. The school called me in just for you," she smiled.

"Hello. I'm Izuku Midoriya," he greeted her in a weak voice. Recovery Girl popped up on the other side of him.

"Midoriya," her smile was slightly angry, "do you know where you are?" She asked.

"The school infirmary ," he was all too familiar with this room.

"That's good. Do you know how you got here?" Izuku shook his head.

"Well you passed out in the hall. Your classmate Shoji had to carry you here," the old woman continued to smile.

"That's embarrassing," Izuku winced.

"Hold still, Midoriya," Kaiya warned, "I'm going to be taking some blood," she flattened out his arm. She stuck the needle in, starting to fill up a vial with his blood.

"Why didn't you come in sooner," Recovery Girl started, "during lunch your friends came in and told me you've been sick for months! Tell me the details," she scolded. Izuku told her about his morning sickness as well as some similar dizzy spells, and how the doctors couldn't find anything. Dr. Kaiya spoke up.

"I'm glad I was called in then," she pulled the needle out of his arm, "I'll do a full scan on your blood and see if you need anything more,".

"And I don't want you to attend classes until we get the results," Recovery Girl hopped down from her seat to her desk where she started writing an absence notice. Izuku wasn't thrilled, but was relieved that he wasn't going to be in trouble with Aizawa. "Don't let your illness get this bad," she started up again, "I may not heal your bones but everything else is still on the table," she scolded again.

As Dr. Kaiya left she promised Izuku that the tests would only take about a day and a half. After she left, he collected his note from the old woman . He thanked her, then left. He went straight to his dorm room. His bag was still in his classroom, but he knew Shoto Todoroki would bring it back to him. He sprawled his body on his cool bed. After leaving her office his dizziness came back. His eyes were closed but he still felt as if he was on a merry-go-round.

Unable to do anything he curled up and fell asleep.
