Breathe In, Breathe Out, In, Out, In, Out, Breathe, Breathe.

Oh crap- what am I doing, what if I fall, well at least Danielle will get a laugh- what if I forget the words, Kia will kill me if I mess up her speech- what the heck happened how did I get here. Stupid throw away comment, why did Heather take me seriously! I am going to kill her! No bad, can't kill her now, make the whole planet look bad, dammit she knew it, fudge it.

Breathe In, Breathe Out, In, Out, In, Out, Breathe, Breathe.

I think I'm going to throw up.

The door opens, "Miss Greyson, they're ready for you," Gordon says gently. Breathe, just remember to Breathe. I hear a familiar tune being hummed from not far away. I listen close as I try and figure out what it is.

"Are you humming 'Just Keep Swimming'?" I ask incredulously.

Payton grins at me, "Yes, ma'am."

I chuckle, "Thanks, I needed that."

"Anytime, ma'am," he replies.

Heather's voice rings thru the door, "You have 30 seconds to get your butt out here or I am coming in and dragging you out."

"Okay, okay, I'm coming," I straighten my skirt and tug my blouse to lay flat.

I can do this.

Gorden and Payton fall in step behind as I walk out the door to give my acceptance speech. I do not trip, I do not fumble any of the words in the speech, and I mange to shut down that nosy reporter from the Daily Planet. I am Lana Renee Greyson and I am the new Human Ambassador to the Galactic Republic and I just need to Breathe. That mantra will sever me well in my new position.
