Yusuke was waiting outside of the airport waiting for someone to come out as he saw a familiar boy walking with his suitcase rolling on the ground. His eyes lit up when he saw the familiar face, the eyes of the color violet, skin complexion was peachy, and his hair was blonde yet he had dyed the edges the color of the rainbow. He wore a galaxy hoodie, torn-up black pants, and red sneakers, a headband on his head and he even had a nose piercing in and two on his eyebrow.
"Hey, Kiyoshi!" Yusuke greeted the male as the boy made his way over to the raven-haired boy with a wide smile on his face.
"Yusuke! It's good to see you, dude!" Kiyoshi greeted. He walked over to embrace his cousin after traveling from America to visit him in Japan.
"I can't believe how much you've grown since the last time I saw you. You were kind of short though." He snickered.
The boy let out a huff, "I did grow taller and I'm not short!" He pouted.
Yusuke could only snicker at his cousin's remark as he pats his back, "Yeah, yeah. Come on, let's head back to my apartment, so we can catch up with each other." He takes Kiyoshi's bag and placed it in the back of the trunk and slams it shut. The two enter on each passenger side as Yusuke played the radio that one of BTS's soundtracks started to play as Kiyoshi starts humming along with the song.
On the way to the apartment, the boy could hardly wait to see what he's been missing for the past few years. When they arrived, Yusuke had a room already set up for Kiyoshi and he let him settle in due to his long flight after coming to Japan. While Kiyoshi was unpacking his things to put them away, Yusuke entered his room.
"Hey, do you want to hang out with me and my friends? They'll be glad to meet you." He asked.
"I don't mind at all," Kiyoshi replied.
Yusuke gave him a warm smile before they headed out of the apartment to meet up with the others that were hanging out at his girlfriend's parents' restaurant that they own. While they were walking Yusuke remembered telling the others that he would be busy preparing your arrival.
"What do you mean you're not coming?" Kuwabara asked.
Unfortunately, Kuwabara had tickets for him and Yusuke to head out to see a street fight going on around Friday after school. Yusuke was in the middle of preparing his cousin's room to make sure it wasn't messy or disorganize when he arrives.
"I told you Kuwabara I can't right now. I'm very busy." He replied.
"Busy doing what? Why are you measuring the room? Is someone moving in?" He asked like a million questions at the raven hair male.
"Yes. My cousin is going to be over here next week and I have to make sure he has a place to stay." He began to mark the walls for the measurement of what side the bed will be on, a nightstand, pictures, and a dresser for his cousin. "Besides if they can't sleep here they'll probably sleep on the streets. I don't want that."
Kuwabara nodded, "Well, I guess since your preparing the room you might as well bring him over to meet me and the others too."
Yusuke grinned, "Yeah. I'm sure they'll love to meet the others." He replied.
While Yusuke remembered the talk he had with Kuwabara he didn't realize they were at his girlfriend's family restaurant. He entered inside along with Kiyoshi as he spotted the familiar faces sitting around the table together just chatting and hanging out.
"Hey, Urameshi! You finally made it." Kuwabara greeted him with a warm smile.
"Yeah. I even brought someone along that just arrived at the airport today." Yusuke placed a hand on the boy's shoulder giving him a warm smile. "Guys, I want you to meet my cousin Kiyoshi. Kiyoshi these are my friends Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei, my girlfriend Keiko, Yukina, Botan, and Shizure."
Kiyoshi put on a warm smile on his face, "It's nice to meet you all! I'm very happy to be meeting with you guys today." He took a seat between Yukina and Keiko while Yusuke sat beside his girlfriend pulling out an extra chair for him to squeeze into the table.
Kiyoshi pulled out his phone, "I actually have been planning to adopt a small dog that I'm interested in. I just don't when I want to adopt it." He showed the picture to Yukina and Botan to see the dog he wanted to get which was a Yorkie.
"Awe, that one looks adorable!" Yukina chimed.
"It certainly looks so cute! Just like you." Botan commented.
"Sorry, you must have me mistaken for someone else. I get that a lot." Kiyoshi replied.
Botan smiled, "But it's true because you seem to have quite a happy personality. I'm sure the dog you are interested in will be happy to have you around." She said.
"I guess that makes two of us! That's something else we have in common." Kiyoshi says in an innocent response with a warm smile.
Botan's mouth gapped open as she squealed and pulled Kiyoshi into an embrace making him let out a small squeal. "You are so cute!" She cooed.
"Um, thank you." He replied.
While the boys were watching the girls swoon over Kiyoshi for his adorableness. "I guess your cousin is attracting the girls," Kurama commented.
"Yeah, and he's already getting Yukina's attention by showing him the dog he wants," Kuwabara grumbled. He glanced over at Yusuke wearing a small frown. "You said he's from America, right? He's probably attracting all the girls especially what he's doing right now."
"Your overreacting," Hiei commented.
Yusuke let out a laugh earning the three boys to stare at him, "Guys, do you really think Kiyoshi is interested in girls? He's gay." He replied.
"Wait, he's really..." Kuwabara was in awe as the two were a little surprised. "When did he come out gay?"
"When he was just 12 and he told me that he was interested in guys and not girls. Sure he is really friendly and compassionate around them, but he doesn't want to have a girlfriend." Yusuke replied.
"Well, if he's happy about being gay let him be," Kurama said.
Hiei glanced over at Kiyoshi as he watches him go order upfront to buy him a slurpy. While Kiyoshi was slurping down his drink he wore a cute expression on his face with his eyes glistening enjoying his drink at the same time. His eyes looked at his hair to see how colorful it was and his piercings along with the purple headband.
"Your hair is very...colorful," Hiei commented.
Kiyoshi looks up at him from his slurp putting on a smile, "Do you like it? I dyed my hair all by myself! Rainbow makes you feel happy inside and outside. " He replied.
"Does it include the piercings too?" He asked.
Kiyoshi nodded, "I got them pierced on my 16th birthday." He replied.
"Hn, nice." He grunted placing his chin under his palm.
"You have a headband on just like me." He chimed.
Hiei rolled his eyes at the boy uncaring of the charms and the bright side he was showing around the others. Later, Keiko decided that they should go to the mall and hang out together, and the demon who just followed them to the big building where humans were wandering around doing a shopping spree.
"Well, I guess since we're going to be hanging around in the mall we can split up. Hiei your going to be with Kiyoshi." Yusuke said as the demon looked surprised and angry that the detective was letting him go around with a human.
"Why me? He's your relative and not mine." He remarked.
Kiyoshi looked at the demon a little upset, "I-It's okay you don't have to. If Kurama doesn't mind me going with him I can-" Hiei looked over at the sad human looking away heading over to Kurama that was more than welcome to let him follow him around the mall. He looked annoyed that he was using his sympathy around him to make Hiei feel guilty for not letting him go with him.
"Fine." He huffed.
The boy came over smiling up at the demon as he can see how annoyed he was acting around him. The others soon parted ways around and Hiei was now stuck with Kiyoshi wishing he had never agreed to this.
"Where do you want to go first?" He asked.
"I don't know," Hiei replied.
Kiyoshi takes the demon's hand which he heard him growl and he didn't care as he dragging him to some places which Hiei had to admit that his hands were smaller than his and were soft. He didn't want to say it out loud though. The boy drags Hiei around the store finding anything interesting or unique as he followed him around just blankly staring at everything he sees.
"Do you want to pick out a movie?" Kiyoshi asked.
Hiei looked over at him with a stoic expression. "No."
Kiyoshi pouted, "I bet if I have a boyfriend they'll probably watch my favorite movie I watched as a kid." He mumbled.
"What movie is it?" He asked very uninterestedly.
"It's Godzilla vs Destroyah." He replied.
"What's it about?" He asked.
The boy put on a wide innocent smile on his face, "You'll have to watch it~" He chuckled. Hiei glared at the boy's enthusiasm as he showed him the front cover of what Godzilla and Destroyah looked like which were just a monster movie. "You'll love it because Godzilla hates humans because he trampled down Tokyo 65 years ago after they killed him, but as many times he comes back he'll get stronger and compete against other monsters. It's very exciting to watch!"
'He certainly has an enthusiastic nature.' Hiei thought.
"I'll look forward to watching it, "Hiei replied.
He watches Kiyoshi buy the DVD and walked over to Hiei saying, "I'm kind of hungry we should go stop by a fast food place to grab a bite to eat." He takes Hiei by the hand once again to drag him around the crowded mall feeling the male grip his hand to make sure he doesn't get separated through the crowd. Moments later, they found a food place and to their surprise, their friends were there ordering meals too.
The two boys had their own table together with a menu set in front of them, "What are you getting? I'll pay for our food." He insisted.
Hiei was a little surprised that the boy didn't mind paying because he doesn't carry around a wallet or store any cash in his pockets. A broke man is what he is. As he sat across the table glancing down at the menu and found out what human meals were to be served he decided to go for a small meal not too much.
"I got my order down." He said.
"Me too!" Kiyoshi chimed.
A waitress came over as she held out a notepad and pen ready to take their orders as she winked over at Kiyoshi. "What are you ordering handsome? You must be wanting to try a good appetite to fill up your insides~" She purred in a flirty tone. The poor boy was shifting in his seat a little uncomfortable to respond up to the woman that was starting to hit on him and Hiei took the privilege to stand up for him just once.
"He'll have whatever he's going to have and not some pervy woman on the side." He retorts.
The woman was taken back from his response as Kiyoshi dropped down their orders she stomped away pouting like a high school girl.
"Thanks for doing that. She wasn't my type." Kiyoshi said.
"Hn," Hiei said. "I only did it because you weren't interested in that woman-it's because you're gay."
"Y-You don't judge me for that do you?" Kiyoshi twiddled his thumbs avoiding his stare.
"No. Why would I? If you don't like women give me a good reason." Hiei influentially asked.
"I don't have any interest in girls is because their boobs are too squishy and...I don't know...they look...weird! In my opinion, but I don't hate them having around only as a friend and no sexual interest." Kiyoshi remarked.
Hiei was a little stunned by the boy's response about the 'boobish' issue and the flirtatious stage as well. Don't get him wrong he's been through the same thing before with that damn nurse back at the Dark Tournament. He didn't find her appealing to him because she was a weak enchantress trapping him after his injuries needed to heal. As the two waited for their food to arrive, Kurama was glancing over at them to see that Hiei is recently getting along with Yusuke's cousin. Hiei despises humans and he didn't tell him that he was a demon ready to carve out his insides, but he wasn't going to do that unless he wants Yusuke to tumble him to the ground. When the food arrived, they both dug into their trays and proceeded with their conversation on where they left off.
"Why did you want to come to Japan?" Hiei asked.
"I just thought of staying with my cousin and start something new." Kiyoshi shrugged his shoulders taking a bite out of his cheeseburger and stuff a fry in his mouth. "I didn't want to live with my parents now that I'm 19. I haven't really planned on going to college yet either, and decided to work full time here."
"Were your parents okay with you leaving?" He asked.
"I couldn't carry them with me." Kiyoshi joked.
The demon let out a small chuckle escape his lips, "True. Parents are the worst or at least some of them if they're too frantic to let their own child go for once."
"Yeah, especially when my Daddy wouldn't let me leave when I told him," Kiyoshi replied in an innocent tone. That word made Hiei almost choked on himself while drinking out of his coca-cola as the boy came over patting him on the back. "I-I'm sorry! D-D-Did I say something to get you stirred up?" He apologetically asked.
The demon shook his head, "No. Not at all." He croaked.
"Come on, let's get you cleaned up."
Kiyoshi helps Hiei out of his seat who was still cough after choking on his own drink that. Kurama was concerned about what just happened. When they made it to the bathroom, Hiei had time to get himself back together while Kiyoshi grabbed some paper towels to wipe down the stains of his drink that landed on his clothing.
"I didn't mean to get you all to choke up. Did I really said that word to get you like this?" Kiyoshi asked.
Hiei shakes his head and cleared his throat, "No. If you want to call your father that it's fine. I-I overreacted a little." He sighed.
Kiyoshi nodded to understand that what he did was necessary for calling his father that for so long.
In Hiei's mind, he couldn't believe you would say that even though he wasn't going to lie that he wanted to hear him say that word around him. He didn't even know if he was gay, but he was positive that he was bisexual and can get used to this.
The day was ending and some of their friends were heading home, Yusuke was ready to leave and waited for Kiyoshi to hurry up before the sun goes down.
"I had a fun day with you and everyone else. It was nice meeting new people." Kiyoshi said.
"Whatever it was your brother that planned all of this," Hiei said.
"Well, I don't mind at all." Kiyoshi then wraps his arms around Hiei's waste that made the demon stiffen a little after that awkward embrace. "Goodbye Hiei! Hopefully, we can hang out together more." He broke away from the hug and walked with his cousin back to the apartment leaving Hiei staring at him until he was gone from out of his sight.
