Way of the Fox

AU. When it turns out that the dreams he has been having since birth are memories from his past life as a Nine Tailed Fox, Taichi ends up dealing with the recoil. Now he has been whisked away by someone from that life into a world of magic, yōkai, and spirits. What is Taichi to do when all he wants to do is get back to his world, save the 8th Child and both worlds?

Chapter I

Abduction

Minutes have passed since seven children were sent to the Digital World fighting against the encroaching darkness. Then just as they left, they reappeared, not too long later, alongside their partner Digimon, unconscious. When their partner Digimon regained consciousness, they left to find food. But they didn't take into account that someplace nearby, at an abandoned shrine, someone was watching. Once the partner Digimon were out of ear and eye shot, the person walked up to the children, staring at each one, before their eyes fell on one child, Taichi Yagami. Bending down, the person inspects Taichi, from head to toe, watching the fall and rise of the chest as Taichi breathes.

"Such a resemblance," said the person, stroking Taichi's cheek roughly, eyeing deeper into the boy's subconscious. "Everything, I mean everything is like him. The soul, the soul is him, I can't believe it. You reincarnated. My beloved Taichi."

Standing at his full height of 206 cm, the person takes out a human shaped origami, a shikigami, out of his hakama, before drawing energy away from Taichi, into the shikigami. Letting the shikigami go, it transforms into Taichi, before looking down at the original than to its master. Understanding what to do, the shikigami waits till his master picks Taichi up bridal style before lying down in place where Taichi was. The person notices something is missing when looking between the two before his eyes fall on the digivice and crest and tag. The person takes off the trinkets before handing them to the shikigami. As the shikigami closes their eyes, the person walks away with Taichi in tow. Slipping into a portal near the shrine, the person returns to his realm, intent on making Taichi his.

"I finally have you back. I won't allow you to slip from my fingers again," said the person, a fox tail swishing behind him walking into his house. "No one will take you away. Not even that filthy Fang. Your mine and mine alone!"
