Many people tell me to find the finer things in life. To stop dwelling on my past.
Well, that's easier said than done, especially when your past keeps trying to come and haunt you.
When I was ten years old, I had run away from my home. My father was a member of the Yakuza and my older sister was just caught in the U.S. and put on death row for murder.
Little did anyone know, she killed someone protecting me.
That's not to say that the system, not the punishment for murder is unjust especially in the U.S., but in her case it was.
My father, that bastard is just too good at what he does. And he's heartless enough to frame his own daughter and have the justice system believe it both in Japan and the States.
So I ran away.
I was living on the streets for the better part of a month when I realized the police, my father, or any of his underlings or anything wasn't going to come for me. It was a harsh reality and a harsh realization, but it was real and realized nonetheless.
There were times where I wanted to go back. As bad as it was, it wasn't this hungry. I wasn't this dirty. I wasn't this desperate.
Eventually, I was found by a kid, around my age, and his friend when they were walking home from school. One of them was kind of….well, really shy, with dark hair and a quiet disposition. He told me his name was Tamaki, and he's the one that found me. The other one was blonde with big, gentle blue eyes. Much more outspoken than Tamaki, but still kind, nonetheless. His name was Mirio. Mirio Togata.
They brought me to Mirio's house where I met his dad. They fed me, cleaned me, gave me clean clothes and a place to rest. They tried to find my home, but when my father was eventually contacted, he denied ever being related to me, and I had been living with Mirio and his dad for a month or two by that time.
With that being the case, I had grown to know Tamaki and Mirio as brothers to me. And Mirio would soon be my actual brother. Mr. Togata had decided to adopt me as his daughter and as Mirio's sister.
We were already really close and had refused the foster system, so the court ruled in Mr. Togata's favor.
My name was no longer-well, it doesn't really matter what my name was. My name is now (Y/N) Togata, and proudly so.
As of late, my father keeps trying to take me back. I'm not going to let that happen. My school isn't going to let that happen. My teachers won't let that happen. Neither will my new father, Tamaki, or my boyfriend. I have people that will protect me, and I can protect myself from him.
And, let me tell ya. It confuses the hell out of people when they find out that Mirio and I are dating.

A/N: Hey guys. This has been in my head for a long while now. Since I am a self-proclaimed Mirio SIMP this was gonna happen sooner or later.
