In a slum full of sick, old, and both…
A lone child watched a still corpse of an old man with curious eyes. This man, his "jii-chan" you could say, was fine yesterday. What happened to him now? The child could not comprehend the death of the old man. Heck, she didn't even know the concept of death!
Now, you must be wondering, why doesn't a child in a sickly slum not know of death? It's because she just arrived a few days ago. She played hide-and-seek with her parents, but they never found her. The child tried to tell them where she was, but her parents didn't notice any of it. The couple filed a missing person report, but the child was never found. But that doesn't really fit the description, now does it? "The boy was never acknowledged, or perceived." would be much more fitting.
A man walked up to the child, kneeling in front of her, while the child herself just stared at the old man's corpse with curiosity.
"Poor child. Not even perceived by her own parents," All for One started. He put his hand over the girl's unruly hair, ruffling it slightly. The girl now looked at the man, with more curiosity in her eyes now, and stared at his face.
"You're not papa," she stated, quickly tilting her head to the side. She looked confused, puzzled even. Maybe it was because someone he didn't know was in front of him. Maybe it was because this man looked pure shady. ...Is that what you've thought? If so, then wrong! It was merely because this man, in front of the girl right now right then, was not her papa. She shook her head, and looked back at the curious corpse.
Oh, the girl is simple-minded. All for One couldn't help but think. But it was fine. It didn't matter. The girl will become someone useful for Tomura Shigaraki.
"Would you like to come with me?" He finally asked, removing his hand from the girl's head.
The girl didn't look convinced. So All for One decided to pull out the big guns.
"I have… candy?" He stated, as if it were a question. He wasn't sure himself if this was going to work, after all.
The girl's eyes sparkled, and she stood up quickly. She lifted her arms high up in the air. "Let's go!" It was as if all the curiosity she had for the corpse disappeared.
Fortunately for All for One, his last-ditch effort worked wonders. He sighed in relief internally, now holding the girl's hand, leaving the slum behind.
"This is Tomura Shigaraki." All for One introduced the future villain to the girl, who had two lollipops in her mouth.
Tomura looked at the girl that had two lollipops in her mouth. Is her quirk really strong? He contemplated, thinking that his master was just playing an April Fool's prank on him. Though, he crossed that thought out, remembering his same master's cunning ways of thinking. He wouldn't play a joke on him. So Tomura greeted the girl. "Hello," he said.
"Harro(hello)!" The girl replied excitedly, eyes sparkling. Her spit flew out of her mouth, hitting various spots on the concrete floor. One of her lollipops almost fell out, but she pushed it back in at the nick of time. By the time she popped it back in, Tomura was convinced that she was an idiot.
"Master, is she really that useful?" He asked quickly, turning to All for One, who was at the side.
"Hey! Am valy stwon(I'm very strong)!" the girl retorted, but it fell on deaf ears. She was ignored, suffice to say.
"Yes, Tomura. It just…" He stopped, looking at the girl who now held two lollipops in one hand by the sticks. "...takes a while to see it."
Tomura sighed. "If you say so, master…" Tomura looked back at the girl, staring at him blankly, as if he doesn't have much expectations from him. "What's your name?"
The girl looked at All for One, her unkempt, long brown hair blocking her eyes. After All for One's nod of seeming approval, the girl started talking, without lollipops in her mouth this time. "I'm Chiharu!" She exclaimed, putting out her right hand for Tomura to shake. After noticing Tomura's lack of response, she added one last thing. "I forgot my last name, if you're thinking that!"
"I wasn't, but okay." Tomura murmured, still unamused.
Chiharu noticed it, and… disappeared. Right in front of Tomura's eyes.
Where did she-?! Before Tomura could finish that thought, Chiharu appeared again in front of him.
"See?! I disappeared in front of you quickly!" Chiharu smiled smugly, looking at Tomura's surprised face.
"H-how…?" Tomura looked at All for One, then back to Chiharu quickly. He was speechless and confused. This kid could really be a big deal.
Chiharu opened her mouth, already lifting her index finger proudly. "It's called-"
Unfortunately, she was interrupted by All for One. He put his hand on Tomura's head, whispering, "I'll tell you later, Tomura. For now, 'make friends'," he made air quotes with his free hand, "with him." Tomura nodded in response, understanding the point of this whole interaction.
Chiharu, though, paid no mind to the interaction and instead finished one of her two lollipops. Tomura walked over to her, introducing himself again.
"Nice to meet you, Chiharu."
Chiharu nodded furiously, and smiled. She took out the last lollipop. "Yeah! Nice to meet you too, Tocchi!"
Tomura, confused with the nickname, decided to ask about it. "Don't call me 'Tocchi'," he told her sternly. Well, more scolded than asked.
Chiharu sighed, popping the lollipop back in. "Fine, I won't be friends with you then, Tomura Shigaraki." she turned around quickly, twirling the lollipop in her mouth.
Tomura widened his eyes. No! I can't fail this… Whatever this is! He took in a sharp breath, sighing out in discontent. "Fine, call me 'Tocchi' or whatever you want." He grunted.
Chiharu turned back quickly, smiling once more. "Yay! It's settled, then! We're friends now, Tocchi, so you can call me 'Chi'!"
Before he was going to refuse by habit, Tomura remembered what happened the last time he did. So, he nodded instead. "Okay, Chi."
And with that, the two became friends.
