Episode 1 - Moonlight Sonata

What defines a hero? What defines a villain?

Does being a hero mean more than something that comes straight out of a world of fiction in order to fight for both truth and justice in a very predictable cliche fashion? Does a villain mean more than what one's role aspired to be or assigned to be, being the one who commits deeds of complexity of many shapes and forms?

That was the question and dilemma of many who ever lived in this world ever since the very first appearance of the Caped Crusader; the Dark Knight of this World who wore the wardrobe of a magician. No...even more so, one that donned the mantle of a fictional character that had come to life.

For it was in the night of the full moonlight. Somewhere in an island that lies a few kilometers from Tokyo, known as Tsukikage Island, home to the infamous pianist, Keiji Asoh. And it was at this very moment when the song of twilight came forth from the man as something happens from his very own home.

"Ooff!"

At least two armed thugs carrying Howa Type 89 Assault Rifles were knocked out of commission from somewhere down the hallway. The music lays in a pattern of thanks for the savior who had graced the home of the musician who had been loved by many.

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight.

Eight takedowns in a row, three of which were hurled out of the house through the windows, with the sound of a violent crash being heard as they were knocked out in incapacitation, all with no shots fired whatsoever due to the blurring speed that goes undercover from within the shadows of the mansion.

The mother and daughter of the musician were hiding from the bedroom closet just as instructed by the father - the musician that is now playing the song. The Moonlight Sonata ("Mondscheinsonate" in German). Known officially as Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, marked Quasi una fantasia, Op. 27, No. 2, a piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven, a German composer and pianist, one of the most admired composers in the history of Western music; his works rank amongst the most performed of the classical music repertoire and span the transition from the Classical period to the Romantic era in classical music.

But the song seems to contain a hidden message amidst the realm of music. An insertion of notes that lends a double meaning, a music code message that was being called forth from the old piano, realizing it all in the beauty and harmony of the music: "Thank you for all of your help, old friend."

And the song itself was directed upon the man who was now in the midst of stopping a bunch of hired guns that were intended to burn the mansion down in order to silence him from speaking out against those who belonged to the corrupt.

This man was wearing a dark blue top hat, suit, and caped overcoat, with a pair of non-reflective glasses that were covering one's face, thereby keeping one's identity strictly hidden.

To many that is known in this world, both real and fiction, he is known by the name of the Night Baron. A twofold name of meaning that signifies a man of nobility and honor who rules over the night as the moon graces him from the heavens.

One takedown upon another, all in the swiftness of speed as each of the armed men wearing black robber masks, were being knocked down one by one in various ways, with broken bones and all. No matter how much they try, the armed men could barely use their very own weapons as it was suddenly taken away from them under the cover of shadow.

And it was also on this night that many of the officers of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Special "Zero" Company, under the command of Detective Juzo Megure were storming in from the hall and from various parts of the town, immediately performing an official arrest of the mayor of this town, Isamu Kameyama, along with other people of high stature whose names are the following: Hideo Kawashima, Tatsuji Kuroiwa, and Ken Nishimoto, all under the charges of illegal drug operations.

And it was at this moment when history itself seems to have gone a different course. For standing by from afar was a man whose appearance seemed to be at his mid-thirties. His long face was angular, with a jutting chin and aristocratic nose, but it was softened by a mass of dark brown hair that swept back down all the way from his high forehead to his broad shoulders. He weighed approximately 180 pounds, and was ambidextrous. He smelled of sandalwood, old exitronic circuitry, and honey. He wore a Wild Bill Hickok costume consisting of forest green velvet frock coat, white dress shirt with a wingtip collar, loden green high-waist trousers, floppy battleship grey cravat with a bronze pin, and double breasted waistcoat of silver paisley-brocade with 10 brass buttons and a golden fob watch, along with black ankle-high dress shoes.

And this man was simply standing by from afar, somewhere nearby a blue police telephone box that has the words "POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX", seeing the last armed thug to be taken down through a flipping maneuver that managed to send him to the floor near instantaneously, knocking him out as a result.

Night Baron was standing tall from the knocked out thug, with his cape waving at the soft breeze that came forth from the busted up window that was smashed not long ago all while the Special "Zero" Company would suddenly arrive, all armed and ready as they storm from the house in order to provide the necessary assistance, immediately performing an arrest of any of the knocked out thugs, all while as the last note had been sung at last as the hands of time seemed to have come to a halt.

History had changed. The family of the infamous musician, a friend and acquaintance of one Yusaku Kudo, had been spared of a fate that had been common to many worlds. And through such action had gained an invaluable ally for his son, erasing such tragedy from ever be. Of a murder that spans the future generation of the unknown which would never come to be. The Case of the Moonlight Sonata had ceased to be at the coming of the Night.

And now, the man who watches from afar, the man known as the Doctor, the Eight Doctor to be more precise, who was now closing his eyes as he witnesses the probable rivers of time seemingly flow in subtle ways, shifting directions that seem to remind him of the fact that consoles his heart when it concerns this world. That the future of this world remains to be truly seen and the story can be anything that one makes of it. For he was the one who tipped off to Night Baron about the illegal drug operations that have taken place and the hidden connections that came forth from Keiji Aosh and on how he was forced to be a part of it through his overseas performances of the piano in order to keep his family safe from harm, along with trying to pay for his son's hospital bills due to an illness. However, sometime later, he would eventually try to give it all up and testify to the proper authorities, but would be anticipated against by Kameyama and the three other men who were now being arrested as they speak.

He thought grimly. "Seiji Asoh is not losing his family tonight. Not on my watch." And this thought relates to the current operation that is now being held for this night.

He contemplates this, with a solemn expression on his face, with both hands to his pockets, feeling the breeze that now shakes his hair and clothing.

Twelve or more so years had seemingly passed by, sometime in the present moment of the middle 2010's, there was a bank robbery that was now present from somewhere in Beika Ward. Many of these men were wearing black robber masks. All of them were heavily armed, some with submachine guns while others with pistols. Most of everyone was now lying on the floor, being held hostage by the robbers.

"Nobody move! Get down on the floor!," one of the robbers exclaimed as he fired his submachine gun to the ceiling, making most of everyone utterly terrified.

And from somewhere from within the crowd was one Dr. Seiji Asoh, sporting a grim expression on his face, who alongside his younger sister was hurled down to the floor. They were just coming here in order to get the money transaction from the bank, but were unfortunately caught up in this particular mess.

It had been about 5 minutes since then. The robbers were hurrying up as they stole the money from the vault and place it on the briefcases for safekeeping.

Was there anyone who could stop them? The police may not be able to make it in time since the quick paced movements of the robbers were not making things easier.

But then suddenly...there was a sudden flash of light that exploded upon the premises, much to the surprise of Seiji, his sister, and everyone else from the Bank, rendering the entire place completely white, blinding everyone as a result, and in the next few moments, sounds of painful grunts were heard and the knocking down of bodies was felt from the floor. By the time the flash of light had dissipated in the next few moments, Seiji, his sister, and everyone else were sporting surprised expressions as they see all of the armed robbers completely tied up by some kind of wire that is keeping them in bondage, all of their robber masks were removed revealing the faces of the robbers that range from thirties to forties, with all of their weapons separated from their position, being place from the side of the wall.

It was right then that Seiji would immediately stand up from his position, sporting a curious expression, with his younger sister raising her hand, saying "Wait, onii-chan!," standing up alongside him. He and his sister would see the piece of paper that was pasted onto the wire, with a magician's emblem seen from the lower right side of the paper.

"Please remain calm and inform the police of everything that had occurred for this day. - Night Baron II."

Seiji slowly read the note, as he and his sister would look to each other with a smile of joy and happiness, and the same would apply to most of everyone that was now present at the bank, standing from their positions as they instantly reacted in praises and happiness.

The Night Baron. One that is donned by two heroes of the Night. The first Night Baron was the one who saved their family years ago from corrupt politicians and socialites that were all charged with crimes involving international drug trade. The second and present Night Baron was the one who saved them for this particular hour, and the Asohs were one of the privilege ones to know as to who was under the mask of the night.

The Asohs could only make a knowing smile of happiness as they both embrace each other lightly, thinking one single thought that comes to mind.

"Thank you once again for saving us, Night Baron."
