Summary: Without Charlotte around the house, Angelica adjusts to her newly reformed life with her friends and family.
Note: this story takes place shortly after the events of Sovietlollipop's story "Angelica's Adventure".
It was a beautiful sunny morning in Yucaipa, California at Drew's house as Zoey came over to have breakfast with her friend Angelica before heading over to Tommy and Dil's house to play.
"Mmmm, your daddy sure makes the bestest chocolate chip pancakes Angelica" said Zoey.
"Thanks" replied Angelica.
"How do you feel now that you're going straight" asked Zoey.
"While I miss my mommy being here whenever Me and my daddy do family things together sometimes, I'm happy I gots a bestest friend like you, Susie and those smart babies" replied Angelica.
"It will be okay Angelica, I miss both my mommy and daddy very much when things had changed unexpectedly for me, but I'm grateful I have my Grandma and Grandpa to love and care for me" said Zoey.
"That's something to be grateful for indeed" replied Angelica. "I'm glad I still have my daddy here with me" she added.
As the girls were finishing breakfast, Drew came into the kitchen all dressed up for work.
"How were the chocolate chip pancakes girls" asked Drew.
"Delicious" replied Angelica and Zoey in unison.
"In that case, we better get a move on over to Cousin Tommy and Dil's house before I head off to work" said Drew.
The girls nodded in agreement as everyone headed for the car and headed towards the Pickles residence. Meanwhile, Susie and the Rugrats were in the playpen having a chat.
"We're gonna have lots of fun today guys, I feels it" said Tommy.
"Uh-huh, ever since Angelica defeated her evil cousin Anthony and changed for the better, we gots nothing to worry about no mores" replied Kimi.
"Oh yeah" added Phil and Lil in unison.
"True, but it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on her though" Zack thought to himself.
"I'm ready, just as soon as Angelica and Zoey get here" said Jesse.
"Same here" replied Dil.
"That makes two of us Dil" added Savannah.
"I'm glad we don't have to be ascared of Angelica no more either" said Chuckie.
"That's for sure and if you ask me I'd feel sorry for the next group of kids that would unfortunately encounter Angelica's evil cousin Anthony" replied Susie.
The others nodded in agreement. At that moment, the doorbell rang and Didi answered it.
"Ah, hello everyone" said Didi.
"Hey Deed" replied Drew.
"Hi Aunt Didi" said Angelica.
"Thank you for having us over Mrs. Pickles" said Zoey.
"No problem" replied Didi.
"Be good you two" said Drew.
"We will" replied Angelica and Zoey in unison.
Drew then headed toward his car and drove away as the girls went inside and joined their friends.
"Hey guys" said Angelica and Zoey in unison.
"Hey" replied Susie and the Rugrats in unison.
"Were glad you're finally here" said Kimi.
"Yeah, we can all play now" replied Tommy.
"Yeah" replied the others in unison.
Tommy then got his screwdriver out of his pocket and unlatched the playpen lock. Soon, everyone headed out to the backyard to play.
"Hey Zack" said Kimi. "Why don't you and Me play tag" she suggested.
"You're on Kimiko" replied Zack as the pair started running.
"Hey Savannah, you wanna do cartwheels" asked Dil.
"Sure thing" replied Savannah as they began doing just that.
"Look at all the wormies Phillip, I'm gonna eat a whole worm and then put some in my pocket for later" said Lil.
"Yeah well, look at all this mud, I'm gonna fill my pants with mud acause you never know when you'll need it" replied Phil.
"Hey Jesse" said Tommy. "Hop on into the Reptar Wagon, we will each take turns pulling one another around the yard with it" he said.
"Ooooh, I'm gonna like that" replied Jesse as he got into the wagon and pretended he was driving it as Tommy pulled him around the yard with a rope tied to it.
"Wow, looks at all these dandelions, I'm gonna blow all the fuzzies off of them" said Chuckie as he began doing just that.
"You girls up for a little friendly competition with jumping rope" asked Angelica.
"You're on" replied Susie and Zoey in unison as they began skipping rope.
The kids played and played until Didi came out to the backyard and called them in for lunch.
"Kids lunch time" called Didi.
Soon, the Rugrats, Angelica, Susie and Zoey were having lunch. Then Chuckie noticed that Angelica was being a little quiet.
"Hey Angelica, is something bothering you" asked Chuckie.
"Well, while I'm glad that I have changed for the better and have great smart friends to hangout with, I kinda miss my mommy being around, even if she was always too busy to spend time with me, but at least I still have my daddy around and I'm glad that hasn't changed" said Angelica.
The other kids were listening in and took notice.
"I know how you feel Angelica" said Chuckie. "Even though I knowed my firstest mommy for only a short time, I was happy to have a daddy that always tried to be the bestest daddy I eber had. Of course, I'm sure some of you that was on the trip to Paris already know, it wouldn't last as it was after the trip that I gotted a nice new mommy and a step sister and things were never the same again for both Me and my daddy all the sudden" said Chuckie.
The others nodded in agreement.
"Yep, and do some of you members the times we had that parade to say hello to fall and Reptar came along and stopped the fall parade and ended almost all the changes that happened" asked Tommy.
Chuckie, Phil and Lil nodded.
"Yeah, my daddy was always going out with these different ladies and leaving me all alone" said Chuckie.
"Yeah, and Me and Lillian had to wear those poofy diapies and you couldn't move around or do much with them on" said Phil.
"Uh-huh, we didn't like it at all and it limited our freedom to do the things we liked doing in ordinary diapies" added Lil.
"While Chuckie got to spend time with his daddy again and Phil and Lil didn't have to wear those big poofy diapies no mores, I grew to liking my grandpa's new tired home that he moved to when I believed Reptar was the reason it happened as well as an accident with one of my daddies inventions. Anyway, at the tired center my Grandpa and I metted and got to know Lulu and happily accepted that change while everything else returned to norman" explained Tommy.
"If I might add something in-case some of you might not know is that Autumn, although sometimes called fall, is one of the four seasons of the year that changes summer into winter, you know with the leaves changing color, as well as the weather getting cooler outside and days getting shorter and animals go to sleep until spring time" explained Zack.
"Ahhhh" went the kids in unison.
"Wow Zack, you're the smartest baby in the bunch" said Kimi.
"Well" went Zack blushing.
"We sure thought differently then before we metted you" added Chuckie.
"I guess we learn something new now and then" said Tommy.
"Yep" replied Phil and Lil in unison.
"Anyway, our point is that while you tolded us back when you were still means that change isn't always good, we finded out that some changes are good while others are not so good" said Tommy.
"I wonder why I'm not surprised if she said that" Zack thought to himself.
"Uh-huh, and this time you gots something you didn't have entirely before that cruise" said Kimi.
"Yeah, you've got friends who love and care about you very very much more than ever before you all had the pleasure of meeting me and a not so great pleasure of meeting Angelica's evil cousin Anthony" added Zoey.
The others nodded in agreement.
"Thanks guys, I feel a little better now" said Angelica.
"Hey, that's what friends are for" replied Susie.
The others smiled and nodded in agreement as they went on finishing their lunch. Eventually, lunch was completed and everyone started yawning.
"I thinks we ought to takes a nappy before we all continue playing" suggested Tommy.
The others nodded in agreement as everyone headed towards the living room. The babies slept in the playpen while the big girls slept on the couch. After quite some time had passed (90 minutes to be exact) the kids started waking up.
"What shall we do now" asked Jesse.
"We could play with our toys next" suggested Tommy.
"Then afterwards, we could draw and color neat stuff" added Dil.
"And we should watch cartoons" replied Phil and Lil in unison.
"Yeah" agreed all the kids in unison.
In no time, all the kids were having fun with their toys.
"Ha-ha-ha-ha" laughed Dil. "Riding around in circles on this Goober ride-on toy is fun" he said.
"And playing with this Dora the Explorer themed cash register that speaks both English and Spanish is pretty cool" replied Savannah.
"Hey girls, wanna twirl with these hula hoops" asked Susie.
"Sure" replied Angelica and Zoey in unison as the girls started twirling their hula hoops.
"Here's Super-Thing to the rescue" exclaimed Kimi as she played with her doll.
"And joining along side her partner in law is Super Why" exclaimed Zack as he played with his toy.
"Hey Phillip, wanna do tug of war with this octopus" asked Lil.
"Sure, I betcha I'm stronger than you are Lillian" replied Phil as the twins started pulling the toy octopus back and fourth.
"I bet this is quite a metropolis of building blocks we're making" said Jesse.
"Yeah, it will be the bestest one we eber made" replied Tommy.
"We will be finished with our work before you know it you guys" added Chuckie.
The kids kept on playing until they were ready to do arts and crafts.
"I'm doing a drawing of Reptar beating Dactar" said Tommy.
"I'm drawing a masterpiece of Me and Goober the Gopher on an adventure together" replied Dil.
"And I'm coloring in these pages of Dora the Explorer and her friends" said Savannah.
"I betcha, I can make a more prettyful drawing of a wormie filled mud pie than you Phillip" said Lil.
"Nuh-uh Lillian, mine will turn out better than yours" replied Phil.
"I'm doing a drawing of Me and all of our friends with a big heart in the background" said Zoey.
"Cool" replied Angelica and Susie in unison.
"I'm coloring these Dummi bears in different colors, just like on the show" replied Susie.
"And I'm making a drawing of Me and my mommy and daddy, when we were altogether" said Angelica.
"That's pretty nice Angelica" replied Chuckie.
"Thanks Chuckie" said Angelica.
"I'm doing the same thing, drawing a picture of Me, Kimi and our mommy and daddy altogether as a family" said Chuckie.
"Uh-huh, that's pretty cool" replied Kimi. "I'm making a drawing of Me and Super-Thing saving the day from big bullies" she said.
"That's awesome" said Zack.
"Thanks" replied Kimi.
"And I'm coloring in these pages of my favoritest hero, Super Why" said Zack before turning his attention to Jesse.
"What's that you're drawing Jesse" asked Zack.
"Oh, I'm making a drawing of Me and Lil riding bikes together alongside" replied Jesse dreamily.
"I see" said Zack as he continued coloring in his masterpiece.
The kids eventually finished their masterpieces and headed for the TV as Reptar and the Dummi Bears aired back to back. After the programs ended, Zack noticed that Angelica was looking a little glum.
"Hey Angelica" said Zack. "I can tell from the look of that face that maybe you're thinking about your mommy again, am I right" he asked.
Angelica nodded yes.
"Tell you what Angelica, since you've been behaving pretty good today, I'm gonna tell you something that ought to lift your spirits up" said Zack.
The others took notice of what Zack said and listened.
"I know I don't gots too many memories of my mommy and daddy as I was only a baby-baby, buts I'm certain that they were the nicest people that cared for me when I came into the world according to my Aunty Celeste. But all the sudden, everything changed in my life when I losted my mommy and daddy to a horrible house fire. You can imagine how I felt when the unimaginable happened, but you know what, fate had smiled on me as my Aunty Celeste took me in as her own and has since taken care of me. And I've met and made new friends when we moved here. I eventually came to the conclusion that change doesn't have to be a bad thing as we grow and learn new things. And anytime I think about and miss my mommy and daddy, I know that they are always watching me from heaven everyday. And anytime you miss your mommy, you can always look up in the sky and perhaps imagine that You and your mommy and daddy are always together in your eyes, just like the drawing you made of your parents and yourself. And since it would appear that you have indeed changed your ways for the better, you now have friends to comfort you and to play with a lot more than before when you were still means. Anyway, you still have your daddy and your cousins and relatives close by you and I'm most certain nothing will ever change that, no matter what life throws at em" said Zack.
"Awwww" went all the kids.
"Thanks very much Zack" said Angelica. "I'm feeling much better now" she added.
"Yeah, that was a prettyful heartfelt speech" added Savannah.
"Uh-huh, every now and then, you know just the right thing to say" said Kimi.
"Oh yeah" replied Phil and Lil.
"Were real lucky to have a smart friend like you to come to someone's aid when they need it" said Chuckie.
"I couldn't have tolded that speech better myself" replied Tommy.
"Good going Zack" said Susie.
"Yeah, good job Zack" replied Zoey.
"You did great" said Dil.
"Yeah, you did fantastic" added Jesse.
"Thanks guys" said Zack as he blushed.
Eventually, the parents came and rounded up their children and headed for home. Angelica and Zoey were left and talked with Tommy and Dil as they waited for Drew.
"Tommy, Dilly, I'm awfully lucky to have you two as my cousins, as well as having Uncle Stu, Aunt Didi, Grandpa Lou and Grandma Lulu here in my life" said Angelica.
"Thanks Angelica" replied Tommy and Dil in unison.
"And you got a bestest friend who will always stick by you too" added Zoey.
"Thanks Zoey" said Angelica as she embraced her best friend.
At that moment the doorbell rang and Stu answered it.
"Hey Big Bro" said Stu.
"Hey Little Bro" replied Drew.
Angelica and Zoey then came out of the house and approached Drew.
"Hi daddy" said Angelica.
"Hello my little princess" replied Drew. "Did you and your friend have a good time today" he asked.
"Oh yeah" replied Angelica and Zoey in unison.
"Splendid" replied Drew. "Thanks for having them over today Bro" he said.
"Anytime Bro, anytime" replied Stu.
After Drew, Angelica and Zoey said goodbye, they headed for the car and were on the road headed towards the Anderson residence to drop Zoey off before heading home and calling it a day.
"Daddy" said Angelica.
"Yes pumpkin" replied Drew.
"I'm grateful you're still here in my life" said Angelica.
"Of course I am sweetie, I wouldn't want to see my little princess grow up without a family" replied Drew. "And I'll do my best to make time to spend with you as soon as I see an opportunity" he added.
"Thank you daddy" replied Angelica.
"And you've got friends standing behind you" added Zoey.
Angelica and Zoey held hands and smiled together as Drew and the girls sped off towards the setting sun.
