Chapter 1: Dream (Avery POV)

It all seemed to go so slow, everything was blurry. All I saw was the silhouette of a small person, they were sitting beside me. I looked around, drinking in my surroundings. It was hard to focus, and my mind felt fuzzy.

A small hand reaches, to rest on mine. I flinch, I turn, and the once blurry silhouette is now a young girl, sitting on my left side. Her hair was a Long chestnut brown, falling over her pale green eyes, that barely peaked out from behind her bangs.

She wore a long black dress, that ran down to her knees.

She curled her fingers around mine, a welcoming smile appearing on her gentle pale face. I couldn't help but smile back.

She leaned forward, resting her head on my shoulder, then she pulled my arm over her head, to wrap around her waist. I could feel the rise and fall of her breathing.

She seemed so fragile, and delicate, like the wings of a butterfly.
I dared not to move. I was afraid that, if I did. She would vanish, and I would be alone, in this gloomy room, once again.

After what seemed hours, the girl looked up at me, I blushed sheepishly. I wasn't sure why.
I'd never felt this way before.

I couldn't think straight. My mind was fuzzy, and foggy, My vision was blurred. The only thing I could focus on, was the girl, gazing up at me, with her large pale green eyes

But of course, what I had predicted, had come true.
The girl's silhouette became hazy again.
I blinked, and she was gone.

Chapter 2: Private

I awoke instantly, my head throbbing with pain.
I placed my hand over my temple, for support.
I looked around, I am in my room.
It is not blurry.

I slowly turn to look at the spot beside me. Gone, The girl was gone

I exhaled slowly, trying not to cry "dream it was.." I mumble to myself, reassuringly, My voice cracking at the seams.

But something, deep within me, felt hollow from the girl's absence, I sighed and threw the covers off my tan legs

I had arrived at school, which forced us to wear uniforms.
The hallways are full of many people.
Some I know, Like some kids from the Art club, and some I don't, the Student Athletes.

I shudder, as someone's shoulder brushes against mine.

I wasn't a fan of large crowds, or students in general, so class presentations are tough as nails.

"Averin!¨

I perk at the call of my name, I look around.

My eyes locked on a small Boy, his Green hair slicked back, running towards me.

He is flailing his arm in the air, as If I don't see him.

I nod "I prefer Avery, But That is I." My Hispanic accent kicked in, I winced

He stops in front of me, having to look up, to see my face.
I found this amusingly funny.

I tilt my head.
"But you are?"

He flinched, at the sound of my voice.

"I am Spencer, He/They, Openly Gay!" He answered, he held out his hand

I shook it, softly

"And you know me, how?" I questioned, He put his brown hand on his glasses, fixing them.

He smiled, "You are a part of the Art club! I am too! I just recently joined, so It's not like I-"

I huff, droning his voice out.
I didn't like people rambling on about random things.

I barely know this Guy, and it seems as though he's telling me his whole life story.

But I guess that was life for you.

I shook my head, trying to think of something else, other than this annoying Guy.

My mind suddenly blurred, as it had earlier. I shuddered.

"Er-..Are you alright?"

I felt a sudden warmth wrap around my palm.

I look up- Spencer had placed his hand around mine, as support, I guessed. I quickly pulled away.

"Yes. I am well."

He nodded, quickly changing the subject.

"So, anyway, The Art club-"

I groaned loudly, He froze.

A look of hurt formed on his face, his head lowered. "I'm sorry, I'm talking too much, ehe-"

He waved once, and turned, walking away.

I sighed in relief.

The loud ringing of the school's bell startled me, I jumped, and quickly hurried down the hallway. If I was late again, This would be my second tardy of the year!

I arrived exactly 2 minutes and 42 seconds late to my first class.
I was one to pay attention to these kinds of things.

I sneakingly made my way to my seat, unnoticed by the teacher, who had his back faced towards the class.

He turned around, his eyes darting towards me. They were like needles, sending shivers down my cold spine.

"Mrs Gonzalez...You're late."

His words stabbed through my brain like a knife, I wasn't late often, But when I was, It felt like heck

Dang You Spencer. I thought to myself.

"My apologies, Mr Martin, I sorta ran into a problem with a fellow club member, do you know Spencer, Green hair and glasses?!"

He tilted his head towards me, his glasses slid down his nose slightly.
He considered what I had said, then pointed to a problem on the black board. "Answer this, Avery"

I turned to look at the question, and grinned.

It was a simple 8th grade math question.

¨8 - 2/ 4.5? said I confidently.
"The answer is-"
I froze for a second. My mind blank.

"The answer…" The teacher repeated, tapping the board again.

It was such a simple question, yet I couldn't think of anything.

I grew nervous, trying to think of at least something.

As if on cue, I felt the soft weight of something leaning against my shoulder, I quickly looked over, to find nothing.

"7.56" I said, looking up at the teacher. He smiled, and nodded, turning back towards the board.

I sighed, letting my head fall onto my desk, Math was Boring as Frick

It seemed like a Century, going through class, after class.

But I had finally made it.

And now it was, my most favorite time of day.
Lunch.
Every day, at lunch, I'd find a nice quiet spot to sit and draw.
It was the only peaceful part of my day. I enjoyed this.

I took a seat at a far table in the Art room and pulled a large sketchbook with stickers everywhere, out of my bookbag. I carefully opened it, and started on a new drawing.

It seems only a few seconds after I had started Drawing, I felt a tap on my back.

I turned around, to Green haired face

¨Spencer is it?¨I nodded.

"That is I." He said, mimicking my Hispanic accent, I gritted my teeth and winced. He took a seat next to me.

"Whatcha Drawing?" He questioned, pulling my sketchbook from my hands, before I could even reply.

I took this offensively. My eyebrows furrowed in frustration.

He flipped through the pages of my sketchbook, his hair fell down over his face.

I tapped my finger on the table, impatiently.

He noticed, and decided to hand it back.

I nodded in thanks, and continued to draw

He just sat there, watching me draw.

I lowered my sketchbook.
"Why are you here?" I asked, clearly annoyed.

He, again, seemed hurt by my words. His head lowered.

I rolled my eyes, huffing.

"If you aren't here to discuss something. You can take your leave."

I pointed towards the exit of the Art Room.

He nodded Tearfully, silently standing. "Yea..ok."

He slung his bookbag over his shoulder, and left.

I watched him leave, carelessly and sadly.

As soon as he was out of sight, I looked back down at my sketchbook.

The rest of the day went quicker than the first half had.

I was relieved when I stepped through the doorway to my home.

I sighed, and set my bookbag down on the floor.

"Avery? Is that you?"
My mother turned the corner, My brother followed her, tilting her head at me.

She smiled sweetly.

"Welcome home dear, How was school?"

She placed her hand on my shoulder, squeezing it.

"Make any friends?"
She always asked this.

I shook my head, her smile faded.

"You're gonna die alone." She joked, jabbing my back with her finger.

I snickered. "I wouldn't mind that."

She gasped dramatically.

"Oh my poor Avery, She'll get all wrinkly and old- And none of the girls will want her anymore!" She whined, in an exaggerated tone, My brother laughed along.

I shook my head, walking past her, grinning.

"I mean it Avery! You'll die all alone!" She nodded, crossing her arms.

I made my way up to my room, and shut the door behind me.

I tugged off my Mary Janes, setting them neatly beside my door.

I sigh, plopping down onto my bed, which was covered with stuffies, I usually take a short nap after school. But for some reason, I felt different today…
I felt excited.

I shook my head, and lay my head on my pillow, tugging my purple blanket over my body. I shut my eyes, and let myself sink into the peace.

Chapter 3: Screech

I sat up, looking around.
The scenery was blurry again. But I knew I wasn't in my room anymore.

I tried to stand, but I quickly got nauseous and dizzy, and I tumbled to the floor.

I gagged and immediately threw up

I lay there for a second, after throwing up, trying to collect my fuzzy thoughts.

A warm, soft hand wrapped it's way around mine.

"Are you ok…?" Came a small, calming voice, beside me.

I lifted my head, to see the same girl I had seen the night before.
She had a worried look on her face.
Today, she had wore a lavender shirt and a plaid skirt

I smiled, I wasn't sure why. But I did.

She helped me off the ground.

I gripped her shoulders, as soon as I could stand.

She flinched, her eyes wide.

"Who are you?" I asked quickly.

"I-I'm...Violet, She/Her, Bisexual" She stammered.

I nodded, and let her go. "Avery...I am Avery, She/They, Lesbian.."

She nodded as well, pushing her bangs behind her ears.

I felt my face grow..hot.

My gaze traced her soft pasty jawline, the large shape of her perfect femanine eyes. The blood red colour of her full, cherry lips. She was beautiful.
Nobody would be caught dead denying her good looks.

I cleared my throat, looking away, Blushing.

Her hand gripped tightly around my face, her purple nails dug into my skin.
I flinched, my eyes locking on hers.

She tilted her head.

I swallowed hard, nervous.
She sat there, staring judgmentally into my eyes for a while.

She released her grip on my face eventually, and turned.
"Follow me.."

She started to walk away quickly, I followed, as she told me to do.

I had to keep up the pace, if she got too far away, my sight of her grew blurry.

She grabbed my hand, it was seeming to become a habit now.
"I don't want you getting lost..this place is a maze full of tricks, Traitors, Liars, and lies."

She continued on, seeming to be in a rush.

After a while, we stopped in front of a large door. I gazed up at it, in awe.

It was covered, side to side, top to bottom, with locks.
They all had key hole's in them, I traced one with my finger.

"What is this?" I asked, turning towards Violet.

"It's my way out.." She placed his hand on the door, her face serious.

"Way out? Way out of where!?" I questioned, looking around.

Of the-" She was cut off by a loud, and terrifying screech.

I jumped, my eyes widening.
Violet jumped as well, turning towards the sound. She grumbled and gripped my wrist quickly, starting to run, dragging me with her.

"W-where are we going?" I asked quickly.

"Anywhere..and everywhere.. But nowhere."

"What is t-that supposed to-" I was cut off by another screech, it seemed so close.

"I'll explain it later.." She threw me against a wall, then slammed her hand over my mouth.

I grew angry about this, so I tried to push her away.

"Stop!" She hissed, struggling to keep her balance.

I tore her hand away from my mouth, and held onto her wrists tightly.

"What is going on?!" I shouted, angrily.

"Shut up! Just shut up!" She pushed, Tears filled her eyes

A large shadow stopped in front of us, and let out a large screech.
Violet was shucked away from me quickly. My body felt cold, as her heat was torn away, I heard her muffled scream, as she faded from my sight.

Then the shadow vanished, Along with Violet.

Chapter 4:Anxiety

I sat up quickly, gasping.

"VIOLET!?" I looked around, but I was back in my room.

I gripped the collar of my shirt. It was a dream, right?..

I looked down at my hand, it was wrapped around something, I opened my fist, and there was a small piece of Lavender cloth resting on my tan palm. I set it down on my nightstand.

I rubbed my eyes, groaning.

An image of Violet´s perfect face found its place in my head.
My face grew hot.

"No..That was real.." I clenched my fist back up.

"What...happened?"

I tried to re-trace what had taken place.
It all went so fast..

I shook my head, slowly standing.

My door quickly swung open, my mother stood in my doorway.

"Are you alright? I heard you yelling." She asked, tilting her head.

I nodded, smiling tiredly.

She nodded as well, then shut the door behind her.

I looked down at my ruffled sheets, and lay back down.

I needed to find answers, who was that, who took Violet, Was she dead?

I lay my head back down on my pillow, and shut my eyes.

It had taken me a while to fall back asleep, but I had managed.

I was back in front of the large locked door.

I looked around, Violet was nowhere to be seen. Neither was the screeching shadow.

I looked down at my hands.

"It wasn't a dream...This is.."

I looked up at my blurry surroundings.

"This is real…"

I clenched my fists.

"I'll have to find Violet then.. She might have answers."

I turned, walking down, to what seemed, a hallway.

And suddenly, everything was clear.

I could see again.

"It's reversed…."

I continued walking, glad to see where I was going.

The hallway was twisted, and I was constantly having to step over random objects.

I walked for hours after this.

Turning corners, opening doors.

I was starting to give up, Violet was nowhere to be seen.

I slid down a wall, to sit on the floor.

I buried my face in my knees, groaning.

I was tired, and my feet hurt.

I sniffed

I shivered, a sudden gust of cold air blowing against me.

I sat up, looking around.
I saw a young girl, standing in front of me.

She had a disgusted look on her face, staring down at my pathetic self.

"What are you doing here, girl?" Her voice shocked me. It wasn't the voice of a child, but of a woman.

"..I'm looking for someone…" I replied, standing, I towered over her now.

"Who might that be?"

"Her name...it's Violet." It seemed strange to mention her name. I knew nothing about her, only her name.

"Violet?.." The girl grinned ear to ear, her mouth stretching creepily.
Her twisted pupils slit, thinner than needles.

I shuddered.

"Yes…" I nodded.

The girl flicked her wrist in a circle, and a large gust of mist blurred my view, I coughed, swatting at it.

When the mist vanished, the girl was different. Taller, taller than me even, and older.

She held limp Violet in her long arms.

"Her?" She tilted his head.

She dropped Violet to the ground.
"I will warn you..Girl..This is my world, watch yourself.." She added

Then She vanished.

"What the?.." I mumbled

I looked down towards Violet, her eyes were shut, but she seemed well. I bent down, and pulled her onto my lap.

As she was closer now, I noticed a large bruise surrounding her eye. I tugged her eye patch down a bit, so I could see it better.

I traced the bruise with my finger.

"Someone has tried to hurt you, I'm sorry I left."

I lifted Violet off the floor as I stood.

Her body was cold, and motionless.

I looked around, where to now?

If I woke up, I'd leave Violet for dead.

I shook my head, and turned to walk down yet another long hallway.

Chapter 5: A Sugar Kiss

After a while, Violet began to grow heavy, and my arms felt weak.

Everything hurt.

I sat down next to a deformed looking mini table, it was Black, with spiked edges, and the legs were upside-down.

I set Violet on my lap, her head resting on my shoulder.

I kept my arms firmly wrapped around her, I felt like It was my job to keep her safe.

I sighed, laying my head against hers.

"I will wait for you to wake up..then we shall continue walking." I whispered to him, though I felt I was only speaking to myself.

I shut my eyes, and waited.

I waited.

And I waited.

I waited for a while.

Maybe hours. I'd lost track of time.

Then finally, Violet shuffled in my lap, her head slowly rising off my shoulder.

She rubbed her eyes with the back of her nail painted hand, then looked up at me.

"You've come back.." She mumbled.

She smiled sleepily.

"I'm glad.." She wrapped her arms around me, hugging me gently.

"I've grown tired..of being alone." She sighed.

I nodded, my face growing hot.

She cleared her throat. "I suppose...you want answers now, right?"

I nodded again.

She stood, her skirt ruffled from the position she had sat in, she smoothed it out.

She grabbed my hand, pulling me off the ground.

"This is the Imagination Realm" She looked around.

"The Imagination Realm" I repeated.

"Yes...It's ruled by a young woman. Who goes by the name Fern..She's created this entire land..But all it is, is lies, and tricks."

The girl...she must be speaking of the girl who had given her to me.

"And the only way out is-.." He turned down the hallway.

"The door…" I said, finishing his sentence.

She nodded

Violet turned back towards me. "I've been locked in here for years, since I was a infant to be exact….and if you stay here any longer, you will too."

She stepped towards me. "You need to leave, it's not safe for you here.."

I shook my head. "But..You said you were glad I was here?..."

She smiled, cupping my face with her hand, just like she had before.

"I am...but it isn't safe for you here..." She sighed.

She pulled me closer, her face inches from mine.

"I won't be selfish...You can still escape from this hell..There is still time.."

I was speechless, stumbling on what to say.

Violet leaned in, and I felt the warmth of her lips against mine.

They were sweet, her lips. Tasting of dessert, and candy. They were soft too, delicate, and smooth.

I could feel the slow movements she made, as she kissed me gently.

I was taken by surprise, confused.

I liked it, I wanted more.

I parted my lips softly, now kissing back.
I was careful, not wanting to put her into flight.
I didn't want to scare her, But she tasted lovely.

she stopped, taking a second too breath, I could taste her breath. It was sweet as well.
I was eager, wanting so much from her now.

I leaned forward to continue, but she stopped me.
"Violet.." I whispered.

I felt hot, and stuffy.

"I'm sorry Avery.."
Violet turned, his back facing me now.

"Wh..what?..Why?" I lay my head on her back.

"You can't stay here.."

She turned to look at me, just as I felt myself slipping away from her. Out of the Imagination Realm

Chapter 6: The Imagination Realm (Violets Pov)

I watched, as Avery quickly faded away.

I wasn't sad about it though, he was safe.

I pressed my index finger to my lips, They were still warm, and moist from the kiss.

It felt nice to have contact in such a way.

I sighed, my legs shaking, I had to rest my hand against the wall for balance.

I shook my head, turning to stumble down another hallway.

It's all this realm was made of. Hallway, after hallway. Some the same, some different.
All dangerous.

The Imagination Realm was full of tricks.
I've been stuck here for years.

A lot of people came by, an accidental slip into Imagination Realm.
But they were all the same.

None of them listened to what I said, and they all eventually died, or got trapped here as well.

I feel as if Avery is different.

But I'm probably wrong, I usually am.

I turned a rigged corner, long black spikes poking out of the wall.

I stopped in my tracks, a small girl stood in front of me, as if she had been waiting for my arrival.

"Fern..." I grumbled, narrowing my eyes at her.

She grinned, the sides of her mouth stretching inhumanly towards her ears.

"Violet~ Always so good to see you dear.." She said, nodding.

I stepped back.

"What do you want?.."

Fern never showed up for no reason.
She always wanted something.

"..You're so serious, have some fun every once in a while." She brought her hand up to my face, and twirled a strand of my hair around her finger.

"You act like it's so easy.." I swatted her hand away.

She shrugged, "It seems you had some fun earlier..With that girl." He tilted her head, her grin grew larger.
"What was her name again?"

I tensed. "It's not like that...I did what I had to do."

She flipped her hand forwards, "Sure, sure. Whatever you say."

I huffed. "It was the only way I could get him to leave. That kind of human contact is not allowed in this realm."

Fern blinked.

"Your words, not mine." I shrugged.

Fern considered this for a second, then she flicked her wrist, and a large book appeared, floating in front of her, it opened, and she flipped through many pages.

"I guess that's true." She said after a while.

She turned her book around

"Rule 256 of The Imagination Realm: No Flirty activities, such as kissing If you are to do so, you shall be removed from the Imagination Realm."

She tilted her head towards me, the book vanishing.

"Hey, I'm a kid, we've gotta keep it PG." She joked, shrugging.
I nodded, looking away, trying not to cry.

"Oh, you poor thing.." She giggled, placing her hand on my shoulder.

"This was yet another failed escape attempt…Sweet..sweet Violet.."
She lowered her voice
"You know you'll never get out of here.."

I clenched my fists, I felt the sting of the many cuts, and bruises on my hands, rubbing together.

She gripped my shoulder.

"You know what needs to be done."

I looked up at her, she was in her older form now, she had long pink hair, tied up in a loose braid, 2 long horns on the top of her head, and was wearing a grey tuxedo, with a white tie.

She wrapped her hand around my neck. "Pain is temporary.."

She pressed her finger to my forehead. And the dizziness took over, sending me tumbling to the ground.

I watched as She towered over me, and pulled me into her arms.

"But it isn't..When you're in the Imagination Realm.." She grinned, and I let myself fall limp, my vision blurred, and I watched as my eyelids pulled over my eyes.

Chapter 7: Violet's Errand

I felt hands tight around my wrists, and the warmth of someone's breath against my chest.

Though I couldn't open my eyes, not yet.

The warm hands pulled away, and I was left alone.

I knew what was happening.
And I knew what to expect.
There was a small tap on my back.

"Wakey wakey."
I heard Fern's voice behind me, and I opened my eyes slowly.

I looked down at my feet, they were dangling in the air.

I felt the pulling pain of my arms.
I looked up towards its source.

My wrists were bound with rope, and the rope led up towards the ceiling, wrapped around a large piece of wood.

Fern appeared in front of me now.
She looked up at a broken clock on the wall.

"I have an errand I need you to run for me, sweet girl.." she said, grinning.

Chapter 8: An Abrupt encounter

I trudged through the slim hallways of my school, yet another time.

I've been trying to get back to the Imagination Realm. But I haven't had any luck yet.

I couldn't stop thinking about Violet, I hoped she was alright.

Something inside me told me she wasn't.
But I tried to push those thoughts out.

I slammed into someone's back, and tumbled backwards onto the floor, I winced

"Excuse you.." I grumbled, looking up.

A lanky boy peered down at me.
"Sorry about that-" He said, offering me a hand.

I swatted it away, and stood.

In front of us was a large crowd, they were all whispering to each other.

"What's going on?" I asked the boy.

He tilted his head. "You haven't heard?"

"No, tell me." I crossed my arms, staring down at him.

"Some kid beat the Heck out of Spencer yesterday, behind the school.
He's got two broken bones, and a fractured wrist." He said, his large eyes wide.

Spencer was the Dean's Son, so basically everyone knew him, and loved him.

"Who was it?"

He shrugged, "Nobody knows."

I huffed

"Poor Spencer, am I right?" He elbowed my arm.
I rolled my eyes, and turned to head to class.

After I had taken my seat in the classroom, I opened my sketchbook.
I liked to spend any spare time I had Drawing, and I was a few minutes early to class.

The teacher slammed her fists against her desk, everyone looked up.

"I have two things I need to say before class starts." She said, lifting her finger up.

"Oh boy.." I muttered to myself.

"Number one," She shouted loudly, her voice ringing in my ears.

"We have 2 new students joining our lovely class today." She said, clapping her hands happily.

"And number two, Spencer will not be joining us today." She pointed towards Spencer's empty seat.

I looked back towards my sketchbook, continuing to draw.

Just as I had, the door to the classroom threw open, banging against the wall loudly.

Everyone jumped, turning their heads towards the door.

A tall Boy stood in the doorway, he looked furious.

He had a black shirt on, and a leather jacket pulled over it, he was disrespecting the uniform code.
His brown hair was short, and fell in his face.

He had clips in his hair, and his glasses tipped almost off his face.

"Which one of you little fecal matters did it, WHO BEAT THE HECK OUT OF MY BOYFRIEND!?" He hissed, stamping his foot against the ground.

"Mrs Franklin!" Our teacher added, placing her hands on her hips.

"It's Mr Franklin!" The Boy said, giving the teacher a finger.

The Boy in the doorway locked his blazing eyes on mine. A shiver crawled down my spine.

He stomped his way over to me, and grabbed my ear.

"You did it! Didn't you!?" He shouted

"Did what?" I questioned, calm.

"Spencer! You hurt him! It was you!" He lifted his hand, balling it into a fist.

I pulled my arms over my face, scrunching my eyes shut.

"Er?- Hey! Let go!"

"Hey! I said let-GAH!"
I heard a grunting noise, and a yelp of pain.

I pulled my arms away from my face.

The Boy was sitting on the floor, tears in his eyes, and his arm twisted behind him.

I looked up, and it felt as if my heart fell deep into my stomach.

My eyes widened.

"Hey Avery."

Violet welcomed me with a smile, letting go of the Boy's arm.

"Surprised to see me again?" She tilted her head.

I nodded, stunned.

The Boy stood up, and flung his good arm at her, hitting her right in the nose, she fell to the floor, starting to cry.

The teacher stormed over. "That is enough!" She pulled Violet off the ground, and smacked her and the boy in the back of the head. "Shame on you both! Fighting on your first day?!"

"Oliva, what has gotten into you?" She let go of Violet and turned towards the Boy.

¨It's Oliver!¨ He yelled

¨Sorry¨ said the teacher

"She's the one who beat up Spencer!" Oliver pointed towards me.

The teacher turned towards me, "Is this true, Avery?" She raised an eyebrow.

Violet stepped in front of me "It was me, actually." She tilted his head.

"You little Jerk!" Oliver threw Violet to the floor, and started punching her.

I jumped

Violet rolled on top of him, and held him down.

"Enough.." She said in a demanding voice. I felt myself blush.

"He did nothing to you! Why would you do this?!" Oliver tried to tug away from her, but he kept a firm grip on him.

"I was ordered to." She got off of him, and stood.

"By whom?!" He stood as well, and immediately grabbed her by the shirt.

"Fern..." She tilted her head, shrugging, Tears forming.

Oliver let him go. "Fern?..You mean.."

Violet nodded.

Oliver stumbled backwards.

"Oliver, Violet, get to your seats, before I send you down to the office." The teacher said, crossing her arms.

Oliver trudged towards a seat in the back, his expression cold as ice.

Violet smiled, and sat in the seat next to mine.
"Fern is looking for you too, you know." She tilted her head towards me, her bangs falling out of her face.

I couldn't help but trace her beautiful features with my gaze once more.

But I noticed something different.

She had bags underneath her eyes, and a large bruise on her forehead.

I traced my finger along her pasty jawline. She was really here, I wasn't crazy..

"How...How are you here Violet?" I asked, my expression saddening.

"Fern sent me here, To retrieve people for her..her War" She looked away.

"What War?" I tilted my head.

"It's something she does every 5 years."

She looked back towards me.

"She invites 20 mortals to participate in a bunch of games."

"What's the catch?.." I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"..She'll kill them all at the end…" Violet's eyes started to fill with tears again.

I froze.
"Violet.." I wrapped my arms around her, she leaned into my embrace.

"I can't stop her..you know that Avery...You, Spencer...Oliver...And so many others, you're all going to die.." She looked up at me.

"I've watched her take so many lives Avery...It….It hurts…" She hid her face in my chest. I looked up at the Teacher, she had her back faced towards us, and was writing something on the black board.

Violet Sobbed not so quietly into my shirt, I felt the dampness of her tears, that had soaked through, against my skin.

I stroked her Long Brown hair gently, trying to comfort her.

After a while the teacher slammed her hand onto her desk.
"Class is dismissed."

Violet sat up, wiping her Green eyes quickly.
"I'm sorry, It's just-"

I gripped her by the shoulders. "Don't apologize."

She nodded, and we stood.

I guided her out of the classroom, my arm securely wrapped around her.

As we walked down the hallways, people stared, and whispered.

I heard a couple Homophobic slurs, whic Made Violet´s eyes filled with tears even more, I stared at floor

I turned into a restroom, and let go of Violet.

"What are you doing?" She asked, resting her hand against the sink.

I turned on the faucet, and wet my hands.
I turned towards her, and slid my thumbs underneath her eyes, where tear stains were left.
"You'll humiliate yourself." I said, sliding my thumb over her chin now.

Her skin was soft, like cream or greek yogurt. She seemed so fragile, I made sure I was gentle with her. I traced my index finger along her jawline, her chin, her bottom lip. I was ceaseless.

She grabbed my wrist, stopping me, I had my hand nearly underneath the collar of her white shirt now.

She stared at me coldly, her Green eyes locked on mine. They were terrifying.

She pushed my hand away. "Watch it.." She warned.

I blushed, embarrassed.
I had lost myself in thought, and wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. I felt awful.

I opened my mouth to apologize, but she cut me off.
"I need to find Spencer." She turned to leave, her black skirt and brown hair flowing behind.

I placed my hand on his shoulder. "You can't just leave school, Violet!"

"And why not? I don't belong to this world, They can't do anything to me."
Her voice was sad, and I knew why.

"Violet.." I turned her around, "I promise, I'll find a way to free you from the Imagination Realm.."

She pushed me away, "Don't make promises you can't keep Avery.."

Then she turned, and left.

"Violet!"

I ran out of the bathroom, looking around, she was making her way down the hallway, pushing others out of her way.
I ran after her. "Violet, stop!"

She turned, glaring at me. "Stop following me! I need to do this!" she crossed her arms across her flat chest.

"Violet.." I tried to keep my voice calm, so I wouldn't alarm her, or upset him even more.

"You're basically setting him up for death…"

Her eyes widened, then narrowed, I could tell she was furious now.

I swallowed hard.

"I have no choice! I'll die if I don't get this done!"

"There must be something else we can do.." I placed my hand on her shoulder.

she gripped my hand tightly, then threw me against the wall so hard, it knocked the wind out of me. I fell to the floor, gasping and trying not to cry.

"Stay out of my way Avery…" She pulled me up by my long black hair, opened a near-by window, and stuck my head out. I sighed, as the oxygen returned it's flow into my lungs.

Violet let go, then pushed me out of the way.

"See you in your dreams." She jumped out the window, and I watched her run along the school yard, until she turned a corner, and was gone.

I could not hold it in anymore

I covered my face with my hands and made my way to the girls bathroom

I slammed the second stall door

I fell to the ground, I grabbed my knees, and started sobbing.

I sat at my kitchen table, eating dinner with my mother and little brother.
Which was leftovers from a week ago.
My mother wasn't a fan of cooking.

"How was school?" She asked, sitting up.

I shrugged.

"See any cute girls?" She teased, tapping the table. My brother picked up his plate and headed to his bedroom.

I felt myself blush. "Erm…"

"AHA! You're blushing! Who is it? What's her name? Where does she live? Oo- Do you make out in storage closets? Is she a good kisser? How good? Or no, is she bad at it, if so, how bad?!"

"Mom, shut up-"

"TELL MEE" She grabbed my hands and shook me around.

"Mom, there's no girl so just-"

There was a loud knocking at the door.

"Hold that thought Avery-" My mother said, standing, and walking away.

I huffed, shoving a bite of old stale pasta salad into my mouth.

I didn't like when my mother asked me these questions.

I didn't like her getting into my personal business, or any of my business at all.
She can be a pushover. A big one.

She was at work a lot, so she never saw me, so she said she just wanted to spend time with me and my brother.

"Of course, of course! Follow me." I heard my mothers voice grow closer, I sat up. She had someone with her?

She appeared in the doorway to the kitchen. "It's for you, Avery." She had a grin on her face, what was she up to?

She turned around, "We were just in the middle of dinner actually, why don't you join us?"

She turned back around, and started walking back towards her seat, and I was yet to see another familiar face.

I stood, placing my hands on the table. "Violet-"

Violet nodded, "Hey." She lifted her hand, gesturing a small Bisexual wave.

My mother pulled a seat out for Violet, but she kindly shook his head. "No thank you, I'm not hungry. There was actually something, I wanted to uhm- discuss," Violet glanced over to me, her eyes full of worry.

"With Avery." she folded her hands neatly in front of him

My mother lifted an eyebrow, smirking, she tilted her head.
"Alright then, you can go "discuss" in her room." She looked over at me, and I shook my head.

"Alright, let's go." Violet said, suddenly beside me.

I nodded, and turned, walking away quickly, so my mother couldn't make any more strange comments.

As soon as we got to my room, Violet shut the door quickly.

"What did you need to talk about?" I asked, crossing my arms across my pink crop top chest .

She looked around, her eyes wide, with what looked like fear and tears.

"She's going to kill me Avery...She's going to kill me!" Violet gripped my shoulders tightly.

"What? Who?..What are you talking about?"

"I-I..I tried to..Spencer..He.." Violet stammered, panting breathlessly.

"Violet.."

"Fern...S-She's angry! She's hurt me! She'll kill me next!" She placed her hands over his head.

"Violet!" I cupped her face, pulling her head up to look at me.
Her face only showed fear, endless fear.

"Calm down…" I stroked her jawline with my finger.

She sighed, laying her head against my chest. "I'm sorry...I'm just..I'm scared Avery.."

I wrapped my arms around her, "Let's go back...What is this about her hurting you?.." I sat her down on the end of my bed, then sat next to her.

"She was angry at me, so She.." Violet pulled off her Purple vest, then her pink shirt, revealing a large cut, drawing along her stomach, it was covered with blood, and guck.

"She hurt me-" she tilted her head up at me,

I stood, walking over to a large bookcase. "And why did she hurt you?" I asked, while flipping through my old sketchbooks and manga.

"It's Spencer...he can't enter the Imagination Realm..But she wants him at her trials.." Her head lowered.

I pulled a large first aid kit out from between two books, and walked back over to her.

"How is that your fault?" I placed my hand on her forehead, and pushed her back, having her lay down.

I gently started to clean the wound, she winced.

"..I've been there my whole life." she sighed.

"And you're how old?" I tilted my head, wiping at the dry flecks of blood on her stomach.

"I'm 12 ½.."

"..I'm sorry, Violet..It's probably so hard for you...I promise, I'll help you escape. No matter what it takes." I helped her sit up, then I placed myself between her pale pasty legs, so I could wrap a thick bandage around her wound.

"Don't trouble yourself Avery...We all know I'm stuck in there.."

"Oh, Hey, while we're sort of on the subject. How did you know where I lived? Or even where I was?-" I asked, tightening the bandage around her.

"Fern told me.." she shrugged.

I tied the bandage, "Is that tight enough?"

She nodded, "Thanks.."

I smiled, "Yea..no problem." I crawled over, and lay next to her.

"I'm just glad you trust me, Violet." I tilted my head.

"Yea.." Violet layed down as well, resting her head on my arm. "It's nice to have someone to trust.."

I pulled the blanket over us, and wrapped my arms around her.
I felt her gasp silently.

"Get some sleep Violett..I know you're tired."

I kissed her forehead. she smiled, peering up at me.
"Goodnight Avery..Thank you.." she sighed peacefully, shutting her eyes "I love you~"

She whispered

I nodded and blushed.

She was warm, I loved that about her.

I held her close, resting my head against her.
I shut my eyes, and ruffled my face into her soft, silky hair.
Chapter 9: Fern´s Visit

Violet has been glued to me since last night.
She's scared, I can tell.

I woke up at 2:00 Am so hear her sobbing and curled into a ball, I had to comfort her until she fell asleep again, which was around 2:45 Am

I was in the middle of breakfast, gnawing on an apple.
Violet was clinging to my arm, watching me silently.
I pushed the apple towards her, offering it to her.
"Are you hungry?"

She nodded, and took a bite from the apple.
"I can't remember the last time I've had fruit." She said, chewing and sniffling, placing her head on my chest.

"What do you mean?" I asked, wiping apple juice off the corner of her lip.

"Fern usually feeds me leftover remains of the people she's killed." She shrugged.

I tensed: "Violet-"

"What?"

"You...eat people?" I set my apple down.

She nodded, "I have no choice, Avery. It's the only thing she feeds me. Would you rather me starve?"

I shook my head, "No..Sorry."

She picked up my apple, and ate the last bite. "That's alright, I can't expect you to be calm about it."

"So..is it like- Cooked?" I asked randomly, looking over at her.

She shrugged, "It's usually raw, but when I'm good, she cooks it."
"Sounds like Fern doesn't really care for you, does she?" I traced my finger along the bandage on her stomach.

"Well, no, but..She raised me. I don't hate the girl. But I don't love her either." She shook her head.

"Yea, I understand."

"Well you two are up early-" I heard from behind us.

I turned around, and my mother stood in the doorway.
"What's the occasion?" She asked, taking a seat at the table.

"There's no occasion." I said, handing the apple's core to Violet, she stood, and walked into the kitchen.

As soon as the kitchen's door swung shut, my mother leaned forward, and grabbed my hands.
"She fell asleep in your bed, in your lucky sports bra, last night-." She giggled, grinning.
"What happened?" She tilted her head.

"I- Mom, are you snooping on us?" I raised an eyebrow.

"YES! Now tell me! Tell me!"

"Nothing mom- She was just hot, and tired. That's all-'' I shrugged, rolling my eyes.

She flipped her hands forward, "Sure sure, whatever you say."

"Mom, you need to stop."

"And you were all snuggled up together too, I can sense something hereee!"

"Ok, from now on, stay out of my room. You're not allowed in there anymore." I grumbled, crossing my arms across my chest, I winced.

"I'm your mother, and I own this house, I can go anywhere I want." She said, grinning.

Violet came back out of the kitchen, "Hey, sorry. I'm back"

I nodded, as she took a seat next to me, clinging back to my arm.
"What're you talking about?" she looked up at me, then my mother.

"Nothing." I said, blushing.

"Ok.." She lay her head against my shoulder.

"Well, I've gotta wake up Azul, drop him off at Mrs. Mari´s playroom, and go to work, I'll cya later Girls." She stood, and turned, walking away.

"Cya."

"Fern will come to visit us soon, Avery." Violet stood, pulling me out off my chair.

"What?- Why?"

"She wants to know my progress, of gathering the mortals for her party." She shrugged, combing her fingers through my long black messy hair.
"How is your progress?" I asked, curious.

"I've got sixteen people, the last three I need are you, Oliver, and Spencer." She sighed.

"Right…"
I'd forgotten I was in this bunch of people.

"Listen Avery..I don't.." She cut off, looking away.

"What?"

"I don't want you to..to die..So, I'm not bringing you.." She looked up at me.

"Violet, you'll get in trouble for that.." I said sadly.

"That's true, sweet Violet-"

The voice came from above us.

Me and Violet both jumped, looking up.
Fern hung down from the ceiling.

Violet froze. "Fern.."

"The one and only." She hopped onto the ground, bowing.

"Avery, was it?" She held her hand out to me, it was hidden behind black gloves, I shook it. "Yea, that's me."

She looked over towards Violet, who now, was placed in a protective stance in front of me.

"Your time is almost up." Fern tapped her wrist, as if tapping a watch.

Violet nodded.

"So...How are the party members coming along, my little errand girl." She tilted her head, her black pupils slitting thin, like needles.

"..It's going well.." Violet muttered, staring at her feet.

Fern's sly grin faded.
She stood still for a bit, her large eyes, watching Violet closely.

Then she quickly gripped Violet by the neck, and threw her against a wall.

I gasped.

"Then why, are you so hesitant, to kill that one?..." Fern pointed at me.

I grabbed Fern's shoulder, and pulled her away from Violet.

Violet then fell to the floor, trembling and sobbing in fear.

"Ohh...I see.."

I helped Violet to her feet.

"Well then…" Fern huffed. Then pulled her hand up to her mouth, she tugged her glove off with her teeth.
"Violet...come." She tilted her head, her expression now serious.

Violet stumbled towards Fern, I stopped Her
"Violet, what are you-"
She slapped my hand away.

Fern held her arms open, and Violet fell forward, her face slamming into her chest.

"You are to be punished for your disobedience, Vivie." She placed her bare hand against Violet's back.

I lifted an eyebrow.

A large black spike, as the ones I had seen on the walls in Imagination Realm, pierced through Violet's back quickly.

"HRK-!" Violet arched forward, blood already spewing from her mouth.

My eyes widened with fear. "V-VIOLET!"

Before I could do anything else, Fern snapped her fingers, and I felt myself fall to the floor.

Chapter 10: Ferns Trials

I quickly sat up, looking around. I was alone, in a large arena. There were rows of observation seats surrounding me, tons of shadowy figures sat, staring.

I looked up, Fern stood on a large platform above it all, grinning down at me, she was dressed head to toe, in black and red, her pink hair was in a braided bun.

I stood, tensed.

"Ladies, and gentlemen!" Fern's voice echoed through the entire arena.
"Today, is the day everyone's been so excited about!"

"Welcome, to X Ring Arena! You all know the rules!
The last one standing, will be able to be free of the Imagination Realm"

My pierced ears rang with loud whistles, and cheers, coming from the crowd.

I grit my teeth.

Fern gripped a lever to her side, and flipped it. I heard the clanging of doors opening around me, and tons of other people were pushed in.
I saw Oliver, and Spencer first, they were holding onto each other tightly, frightened.

"Dear Mortals! You shall fight to the death! If you do not do so, you shall be tortured, and slain!" She pointed towards a hooded person in the middle of all of us, they lifted up a large scythe that was much larger than them.

"By none other than my sweet errand Girl," Fern clapped her hands, and the hooded person pulled their hood off, revealing beautiful Brown hair, and pale skin.
"VIOLET BLAIRE!" Fern announced loudly.

I felt my heart sink, as Violet turned to look at me.
Her expression changed when she saw me, it was of regret, and shame. She pulled the hood back over her head, I saw a peak of her face, she had started crying with fear.

I took a step towards her.
She shook her head.

I took another step towards him, then another.
I was running towards her now, as fast as I possibly could.

When I reached her, I hugged her tightly, wrapping my arms around her warm body.
"Violet...I thought..."

She pushed me away gently. "The party will start soon." She looked away, and wheezed.
"Promise me you'll fight...I..I don't want to hurt you Avery.." She slid her small hand around mine.

I opened my mouth to speak, but was cut off by Fern's loud voice. "Let's begin! Shall we?!"
The crowd cheered again.
"Then my sweet mortals! Let the party begin!" She pulled yet another lever, and the doors behind us banged shut.

Violet lifted her scythe, and everyone stepped away from her.

A boy started banging on one of the locked doors, trying to get out.
Violet threw the scythe at him, it sliced through his torso, detaching his top half from his bottom, then it flew back towards Violet, and she caught it.

The boy's two halves fell to the floor.
"Start fighting.." Violet stood up straight, letting the blood drip off her scythe.

I looked over at Oliver, his eyes were already locked on me.

I can't die...Violet told me not to...I have to survive.. I thought to myself.

Oliver suddenly started dashing towards me, his fists lifted.

"Holy Crap!…" I turned, running.

After that, it seemed everyone got the point. And started fighting.
I heard grunts, and cries.

I turned to look at Violet, she was watching me sharply.

I stumbled, tripping to the floor.
Oliver took this as an advantage, and quickly hopped on top of me.

"This is for teaming with the Idiot who hurt Spencer.." He pulled his spiked bracelet off of his wrist, and held it up to my temple.
"I won't regret killing you.." He lifted his other hand, ready to slam the bracelet's spike through my head.

But in a simple second, He flew off of me, slammed against a wall.

Then He fell to the floor, as Violet placed herself in a protective stance in front of me.

Oliver wiped blood from his lip, standing.

Violet lifted her foot, and kicked him in the stomach, he flew to the other side of the Arena.(lol, bye)

Then she turned, and pulled me off the ground.

"Er..Thank-" I began.

She leaned forward, kissing me quickly.
"Yea whatever Bestie..Just don't die.."
I grinned. "What was that?

She shook her head, her face growing red. "I dunno.."
She threw her scythe, which pierced itself through someone's head, then flung back into her hand.

I tilted my head, "Do it again."

"Eh?-" She looked up at me. "Avery- We're in the middle of, basically war. This is no time to make out."

I shrugged. "Fine then, but afterwards. We're finding a storage closet."

She nodded, "Sounds great."

"You know this is supposed to be really intense? Like, Amazing fighting and stuff. Not two homosexuals flirting." She said, tilting her head.

"Why can't it be both?"

"I have a job to do, Avery. Don't die." She turned, and ran away.

I watched her attack yet another person, her movements swift.

I look around, there's already very few people left, I let my eyes drift over the bobbing of their heads, counting them.

There were only eight people left.
It horrified me.

"Eight...only eight?.."

I watched as Violet struck another person down.

"Seven.." I muttered.

Chapter 11: Revenge Party

I wanted to go home!

I managed to make my way away from Fern´s view, I hid under her platform, I leaned on it and sniffled

¨AVERY!¨

I heard a voice and saw Spencer and Oliver.

¨Run for your-¨ They were both stopped, I stared up, and saw Fern and 2 other people,

one had long Peach hair in a bun, pale pasty skin like Violet, and was wearing a long black Dress, and the other had dark skin, long blue hair, and was wearing a very revealing outfit.

¨I guess you guys have not met my siblings, Ellie and Lotus!¨ Fern exclaimed ¨Now get them¨

The girl that seemed to be name Lotus, flew down and grabbed Spencer, He cried out before Lotus stabbed Spencer in the chest

¨SPENCER!¨ Oliver cried out ¨YOU KILLED HIM!¨

¨No, He's just in a coma, he'll be awake when he returns to earth, Im not that evil enough to kill people¨

¨DIRTY BAS-¨

Before Oliver could finish his sentence, the other girl, who was named Ellie, grabbed Oliver and threw him out of the arena

¨Only 5 left folks, who will win!¨ Fern Yelled to the audience,

I gulped, and stared up at Violet,

who was emotionless, Fern had her hand, on Violets shaking shoulder

¨My Money's on The wimp who's trying to hide¨

I gulped, looking away from Fern, Lotus, and Ellie, who were all laughing a storm

I turned my head, and saw that 2 more people were eliminated

My Muscles tensed, I winced

¨I see, there are 3 people left¨ Fern yelled out

Ellie grabbed me by my hair

Lotus grabbed a tall girl with short Purple hair

And Fern grabbed a short boy with blue hair

¨Fellow Mortals¨ Fern exclaimed

Ellie Put me down, Lotus and Fern followed

¨The last time we had 3 people still in was 5 years ago, and what did we do!¨

I gulped as another screeching came from behind the door

¨We Brought Out Inky¨

Fern pushed another lever

Which opened a door to reveal

A Traumatized, Scared, Girl

Chapter 12: Inky

¨Inky, I would like you to meet the final 3!¨ Fern exclaimed

The figure nodded, playing with her braids.

¨That´s Wren¨ Fern pointed to the boy, he waved

¨That´s Cora¨ Fern points to the girl, who looked like she was about to cry

¨And this, is my most dearest Vivie´s so called Girlfriend, Avery¨

I gulped as Fern cupped her hands around Inky´s elf ear

¨Now, Inky, Do It Now My Precious Flower~¨

I winced

¨GO!¨

As soon as the words left Fern´s mouth, I made a dash towards Violet, who was hung on a board, she was emotionless

¨Psst, Violet!¨

Violet shakely turned her head, her face was tear and blood stained

¨What did she do to you!?¨

Violet opened her mouth

¨Listen, Love¨ She coughed Weakly, I blushed ¨You gotta try and get Ellie, Lotus, Inky, and the people you are trying to kill on your side, Fern only has the power of 2 people¨

I nodded

¨Do it for me love, I don't have much time left¨

I placed my hand on Violet´s pale weak face, She winced

¨I got this Bun¨ I kissed her nose

Chapter 13: Team

This is a Brand New Start

I stared up at Fern, who was looking angry

¨GET HER INKY FOR GODS SAKE!¨

I looked to my left to see Inky charging towards me

I gulped and placed my hands over my head

I felt my body weight be tackled towards the ground

My head hit the ground, Hard

¨I-Inky is it?¨ I asked weakly, My head made me feel nauseous

She Nodded

¨I know what Fern is doing to you, And I want to save you¨

I gagged

¨I need you to join me and Defeat Fern¨

Inky placed her hand on my tight pink crop top, her knees on my black skirt

Inky got off of me and helped me up

¨We need to get 4 more people on are side, can you get Lotus and Ellie, I´ll get Wren and Cora¨

Inky nodded, she jumped and made her way to the fellow siblings

I gulped and stared at Wren and Cora, who were talking strategy

I inhaled, and began to run over

Chapter 14: Unknown

I had managed to get Inky on my side

All I needed to do was get Wren and Cora on my side

I ran faster than I did for the mile at school, I had to sweet talk them to get them on my side

I made it

¨Hello Fellow competitors¨ I smiled

¨Give us 1 reason we should not end you right now!¨"Said the girl named Cora

¨Hon calm down¨ Wren placed his hand on my shoulder, and whipped me to the side

I felt my left arm go numb as I hit the wall, I winced

¨J-Just help me defeat F-Fern, PLEASE!¨

Cora stopped and stared at Wren, who had his had wrapped around my throat

¨How should we know your not lying?¨ exclaimed Cora

I clenched my arm

¨Tell us, now¨ Said Wren, fixing his mask and transgender braclet at the same time.

¨If I was lying, would I have not tried to kill you on my way over here?¨

Wren stared at Cora with a raised eyebrow, he shrugged

¨So is that a Yes?¨ He asked, wiping his brow with his bare hand. I nodded wiping my eyes, Wren helped me up with his hand

¨You'd barely survive without us¨ Cora replied, patting my back hardly, I winced and clenched my arm again

¨What do you mean by that?¨ I asked blankly, staring hard into Cora´s short pink hair.

¨We both have been here before¨ Wren answered, Pulling Wren close

¨You guys are a cute couple¨ I added, Blushing, Wren and Cora stared at me with their pupils

¨Im Lesbian, He´s Trans and Bi, plus, we are siblings¨ Cora added
