A long time ago, when I was a novice, I made a Senran Kagura/Ed Edd n Eddy Crossover. It garnered much attention and it was one of my first successful stories. Sadly, the ending left much to be desired and I eventually deleted it.
However, it is time to resurrect a long-dead story. Slap a fresh coat of paint on it, give it a reboot. It's time...
...for Senran Kagu-Eds to return.
Peach Creek, Minnesota. A relatively humble town that is full of colorful people and all sorts of friendly faces. However, its most focal point is a small little Cul-De-Sac, where a group of teens lives life to the fullest almost every day.
One such teen is taking a nap in his room, which is quite stylishly made and even had a disco ball on the ceiling. He was quite short, around 4'11, and had ocean blue hair with three stalks jutting up. He was loudly snoring before the ringing of his doorbell got his attention. Groaning as he rolled out of his bed, the boy, Eddy Skipper McGee, hobbled tiredly to the front door.
Upon answering the door, he noticed nobody there. At first, he was going to chalk it up to a prank being pulled on him when he suddenly noticed something on the ground; a brown package with what looked to be a kunai knife, like the ones ninjas use, wedged in it.
Taking the box to his room, Eddy sat down on his bed and used the kunai to cut open the parcel. His chocolate brown eyes widened in shock and delight when he saw a massive stack of money inside as well as a note and a plane ticket.
Taking out the note first, Eddy scanned over its contents and reread it a few more times to make sure he was reading it right. A wide grin stretched across his face as he immediately got dressed in a yellow t-shirt with a red vertical stripe and purple collar, light blue jeans complete with a wallet chain, and red sneakers, and bolted to the house of one of his best friends.
In a neat and moderate room, a young teen boy wearing a light yellow onesie yawned and stretched, rubbing the locks of golden blonde hair out of his sky blue eyes, the boy spun a table wheel full of mannequin heads, each with identical black beanie hats on them. Selecting the one labeled 'Saturday', the boy took it off the mannequin head and put it over his hair, fitting the golden mane inside neatly with the bangs peeking out of the front and the back of the hair sticking out of, well, the back.
Eddward Marion Anton, or 'Double-D' as everyone called him, sighed as he got cleaned, brushed, and dressed for the day ahead in a tomato red t-shirt, purple shorts, long red socks, and light blue sneakers. However, the doorbell ringing alerted him as he headed downstairs to see if it was potentially his friends ready for a new scam or two. When he opened it, he instead found a box on the ground with a kunai knife wedged in it.
"How curious..."
Taking the box inside and setting it on the table, Double-D used the kunai as a makeshift box cutter since he figured that was what it was there for and opened the box. He was surprised to see a note, a massive stack of money, and a plane ticket inside.
"My, my...intriguing!"
Reading the note and double-checking it to make sure he read it properly, Double-D rubbed his chin deep in thought before a banging on his door alerted him. Quickly answering it, he saw his best friend Eddy there, a wide grin on his face.
"Double-D! We gotta go to Ed's house! You'll never believe what I just found!"
"I think I can take a guess, Eddy..."
In a basement bedroom that looked like a literal health hazard, a boy with a unibrow and feathery orange hair was snoozing on his bed without the covers on and loudly snoring the day away. However, the stomping of little feet awoke him as he saw his younger sister there.
"Ed, wake up! Mom and Dad say you got a box addressed to you."
Ed Horace Alba's emerald green eyes fully shot open as he excitedly jumped to his feet, ran into his cupboard, and jumped out decked in a dark green jacket, a red and white striped undershirt, light purple jeans, and black boots.
"PRESENT! PRESENT FOR ED!"
Running upstairs to the living room and to his front door, Ed excitedly looked down to see a box with a kunai knife on it. Now, Ed was quite a fan of comics, movies, video games, and all sorts of good stuff and when he saw the knife, his brain immediately jumped to its immediate conclusion.
"A GIFT FROM NINJAS! MUST OPEN!"
Ripping the box apart with his bare hands, Ed gazed in awe at the massive stack of money, plane ticket, and note inside. Taking out the note, he sat down and read through it, then again to make sure what he read was right. As he put the note down, his grin stretched so wide, it looked almost cartoonish.
"NINJAS WANT ME IN JAPAN!"
"ED!" Came the voice of his best friends Eddy and Double-D as they came over. Ed smiled and got up, seeing his pals had also gotten similar boxes.
"Did you get a weird box with a ninja dagger on it too?" Eddy asked as Ed excitedly nodded, his head making a rattling sound.
"How peculiar...all of us got a mysterious box with a kunai knife commonly used by Japanese Ninjas...complete with money, plane tickets, and a note, each with the same contents but addressed to each of us separately." Double-D hummed as he took out his note, Eddy, and Ed both doing the same.
"Wait, you dorks got boxes too?" Came the familiar voice of their 'rival' Kevin Nucci, a boy with a lime green sweater, black shorts, and black sneakers. His most significant feature was his red baseball cap covering his red buzzcut hair and his fierce olive-green eyes.
"What's new, Shovelchin?" Eddy asked. Back then, he and Kevin hated each other with a passion, but age and certain events brought wisdom and now the two were friendly rivals if anything.
"Nothing, just that I heard you dudes talking about notes with ninja knives, notes, tickets, and money," Kevin said, revealing he was carrying a similar box that the Eds each received under his arm and holding a kunai knife that came with the box in his other hand.
"So, it seems the Ed-Boys and Kevin have also received the message from across the land!" Came the foreign voice of Rolf Yvorik, a boy with tanned skin, a unibrow, unruly navy blue hair, reddish-brown eyes, and clad in a yellow t-shirt with a horizontal red stripe, light blue baggy farm pants, and red custom-made shoes.
"Rolfy-Boy, you too?" Kevin said to his best friend as Rolf nodded and showed his own box.
"Rolf was prepared to tend to Papa's radish garden when Nana alerted Rolf to a parcel being delivered to the front door addressed to me."
"Holy Toledo! You guys too?" Came the excited voice of Johnny Teubifor (Pronunced Two-By-Four). Johnny was a dark-skinned kid with deep blue eyes, buzzcut black hair, a white dingy t-shirt, blue jeans with tears in them, a pair of sandals, and a board of wood with a smiley face on it known as 'Plank'.
"Gee Willikers, we ALL got gifts from Japan!" Came the soft and timid voice of Jimmy Daniels. Jimmy had pale white skin, fluffy light blonde hair, sky blue eyes, and a retainer. His choice of attire was a light blue sweater, ivory white khakis, and black dress shoes.
The seven boys of the Cul-De-Sac were all absolutely befuddled that they each got the same delivery, each with a note addressed to them, a bunch of money that would make them set for life, and plane tickets to Japan, home of the Eds' favorite flavor of Jawbreaker, which tasted like candy sushi.
"Alright, this seems pretty fishy. What say we all look over these letters to us." Eddy said as all the boys re-read the notes that came with their parcels.
Dear (Ed/Eddward/Eddy/Kevin/Rolf/Johnny/Jimmy)
You have been selected along with six of your friends, to be entrusted with a secret of dire importance. You have been given tickets to Japan in order to scout out the three main Shinobi Schools; Hanzo National Academy, Hebijo Clandestine Girl's Academy, and Gessen Girls' Academy.
The reason we have sent for you and your friends is that we are offering you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the world of Shinobi in action. You all have your own exceptional talents and we would love to have you show your brand of creativity and ingenuity to help inspire our talented Shinobi and perhaps...become Shinobi yourselves.
Be warned, the life of a Shinobi is a dangerous one, but if you accept, we will make sure you are given the proper training and initiative to become the best you can be.
Signed, A Friend.
"WE CAN BE NINJAS, YOU GUYS!" Ed cheered excitedly after all the boys finished reading.
"I don't know...I feel like I might get a nasty bruise..." Jimmy nervously said as Eddy rolled his eyes and patted the frail boy on the back.
"Relax, Curly Q! This might help you finally man up!"
"Indeed! Rolf wishes to learn more about the other cultures! The Ed-Boys, Kevin, and the rest of you have blessed me with so many wondrous new things to experience here in Go-Go America, but it is Japan that Rolf seeks true enlightenment!"
"Ninja Training? Plank says 'Bring it on!" Johnny cheered excitedly as he held his wooden pal close to his cheek.
"Eh, what the heck. Things have been getting boring around here. Might as well!" Kevin said with a shrug of his shoulders.
"Well, if the rest of you are going, then so shall I." Double-D sighed, feeling a sense of foreboding in his soul but didn't know why.
"Alright, let's cash in these tickets and get ourselves First-Class seats to Japan, baby!" Eddy cheered, the rest of the boys soon sharing in his excitement.
Unbeknownst to the seven boys of Peach Creek, a tall figure in a white and red robe was watching them. He had glasses and black curly hair and a mask covering his mouth and nose. He smiled behind his mask as he slowly disappeared in a shower of sakura petals.
"Good luck, you guys. I dare say you're gonna need it for what comes ahead."
Next Time: The Cul-De-Sac Boys arrive in Japan, get a bite to eat, run into a cute girl, and get accommodated in a new home.
Shout-Out to Kamencolin, who will be helping me out with this story as it goes on.
