Hello, hello, readers. If you've been following this since the last two arcs, welcome back. And now that the Pincher Arc and the Oracle Arc are complete it's time to get to the third arc of this story, for those who've played Guardian Signs, let's call it the Societea Arc. Once this is done, we'll have finished the main plot of the original game and the forth arc is where things will seem a little more...unique. But in the mean time let's get started on arc 3.

It was the morning after the Rainbow Festival. Since they stayed latter, Ben, Summer, Takumi, Ami, Nokia, Fei, Arata, Yuugo and Yuuko were too tired to make it back to Rand's place. So, they slept over at Booker's house along with Rand's family, Kyoko, Matayoshi and Date.

Takumi yawned and stretched as he came out of his sleeping bag. He saw Terriermon snoozing on top of it and laughed as he rubbed his head.

"Good morning!" Nick smiled. "Everyone kept going until really late last night, didn't they?"

"Hey, Nick. How's you're throat?" Keramon asked.

"Better…though my tongue is still a little numb." Nick shuddered just remembering the coffee he drank last night. "You know what though? I think I'm finally getting used to talking to Digimon."

"That was so much fun!" Nokia giggled. "The Pichu dance was so cute!"

"And Ukulele Pichu's song…It was really cheery! Perfect for the festival!" Summer added.

"The ukulele sounded different, I noticed." Ben said.

"Oh, you noticed?" Nick looked surprised. "Actually, last night I did a quick adjustment before the performance while the boss was giving me advice. I'm really happy you caught that!"

"Pichu!" the little yellow Pokemon peeped up.

"It's rather interesting that the song it plays changes when you adjust the ukulele." Matayoshi said.

"I bet that the instrument can now convoy Pichu's feelings." Ami said. "Just like how a Styler does so for Rangers."

"At any are, that ukulele is so perfect, there is almost nothing left to adjust." Nick declared.

Pichu took out the ukulele and played. Slowly picking up tempo.

Everyone applauded when he finished. "Nick, you and Ukulele Pichu rock!" Ben smiled.

"I'm sure we'll always remember this song!" Summer nodded.

"…Wait, where are Kyoko, Fei and Date?" Takumi asked.

"Rand's family isn't here either…" Yuuko added.

"Oh, Rand went to go fix the Wireless Tower this morning so he got up early." Matayoshi replied. "Date was restless and thought some of those Pincher punks might come back, so she went after him when she got up. Kyo-Kyo and Fei escorted the ladies back to their place."

"I see." Takumi replied. "That's Rand for ya."

"He's quite a hard worker." Booker said. "Still, Rand looked like he was havin' lots of fun last night. But he also looked a little lonesome…" Booker sighed as he looked at the Rangers. "You guys are leavin' Oblivia soon, right?"

"That's right…" Nick said. "You guys are going to go soon, huh…"

"Pi…chu…"

Ben looked sadly at his Pokemon. "I guess that means we'll be saying goodbye for real soon…"

"Come on guys, cheer up!" Ami said. "That's still some time away! Hey, I know! Let's hang out at Rand's place!"

"That sounds nice." Ben smiled faintly.

"Detective Matayoshi, you go on ahead." Arata said.

"Huh? Where are you going?" the elderly man asked.

"There's something I want to check out with these guys. We'll meet up with you soon."

"Hmm? Well okay. Just stay out of trouble." With that he left.

"What's up Arata?" Ami asked.

The boy lead the others out of the house and waited for Matayoshi to be out of earshot. "I want to go back to Amun's mansion."

"Huh? What for?" Ben asked.

"Amun…isn't that where you found that book on Oblivia's legends?" Yuuko asked.

"Yeah. I've been thinking last night. There might be a way for us to properly confirm that Sabios was defeated."

Takumi snapped his fingers. "I get it! That place was filled with books on Oblivia's past! There might be something on the battle against him!"

"Good thinking Arata." Ami smiled.

"Oh! Do you think they'll have a whole legend on our heroic deeds?" Nokia asked.

"I imagine Ravio and the others would have kept our existence a secret." Yuugo replied.

"Eh!? All that work we did, and we don't even get any credit for it?!"

"Nokia, it's for the best." Yuuko replied. "You know we can't allow too much damage to the time steam."

"So anyway, I want to go check it out." Arata said. "If any of you want to tag along you can, or you can go back to Rand's place."

"I'll go with you." Ben replied.

"So will I." Takumi added. "I want to learn the truth of what happened."

"Me too." Ami added. "Don't worry, if you guys are with me, I can make it to the library."

"Just don't hesitate to tell us, if you're unstable." Takumi replied.

"I'll tag along as well." Summer replied. "I kinda want to see this mansion."

"The rest of us will head back to Rand's place." Yuugo said.

"Okay, see ya soon." Takumi replied.

With their Digimon and Summer's Staraptor it was easy to fly to the mansion's location. Ami did better then last time, thanks to her brother holding her hand and Arata encouraging her when she got scared. They made it to the hidden library and started going through the books.

"Groudon and Kyoger's ancient battle. The tale of the Ultimate Weapon. The Heroes of Truth and Ideals. The King of Bountiful Harvests. …How to make your Snorlax float?" Ben moved a bunch of books aside. "There are way too many books here and nothing on Sabios."

"Yeah." Takumi sighed. "I think the "Legends of the Oblivia Region" book Kyoko and Leanne have is our best bet at this point."

"Okay. I guess we'll just ask to borrow it." Arata said. "Let's meet back with the others."

Ami was reading through a book herself. "The Forbidden Song?"

Just then Takumi's Digivice made a noise that would bring to mind a disaster alarm in a dangerous lab. "Dude, what is with that ringtone?" Ben asked with an eyebrow raised.

"It's Date. Everyone, get ready to cover your ears."

Arata was already doing that from the moment he heard the detective lady's name. "How appropriate."

Takumi's Digivice opened up a monitor for everyone to see Date. "Where the heck are you guys?!"

"Nice to see you too." Terriermon winced.

"Didn't the others tell you? We're looking for something at Amun's mansion." Takumi explained. Then something just occurred to him. "Wait a minute, when did you get communications working again?!"

"Huh? Oh, well repairs to the Wireless Tower are running smoothly, and some of the original functions were fixed. Rand says it's not enough to communicate outside the region though. Seriously, who knew fixing a radio tower could be such a hassle."

"Date!" they could hear Matayoshi's voice over the call.

"Huh? Oh, right, forget about that! Get your butts over to Rand's now!"

"What's wrong?" Summer asked.

"We'll give you the details when you get here!" It was Yuugo's voice this time. "Just hurry over!" With that the chat disconnected.

"That doesn't sound good." Palmon said. "Do you think the house is on fire again?"

Arata sighed. "Joy. Another disaster to top off the mess we just concluded with the Oracles. I'm so happy I could just cry."

"I'm so happy I could just die." Keramon added.

"Jeez, dude."

"Whatever this is about, we'd better get back to Rand's place quickly." Takumi said. "We can look into Sabios latter." The others nodded. Ami didn't even notice that she was still carrying the book she was reading as they hurried out.

As Rapidmon, ridden by Takumi, Angewomon carrying Ami, and two Staraptor, one ridden by Summer and the other ridden by Arata, Keramon, Ben and Pichu, approached Rand's house, they could see Murph in the front lawn jumping up and down, waving his arms. "HEEEEEEEEEY! Over here!"

As the team landed Ben released the wild Staraptor and Angewomon and Rapidmon returned to their rookie forms. "Murph, what's going on?" Ben asked.

"We have a big problem! A seriously huge problem! Come inside!"

The team hastily went in. The others were waiting. The inside of the house was a mess. "There you guys are!" Nokia said.

"What's the big emergency?" Ami asked.

"It's Rand!"

"…Rand?" Summer asked.

Everyone was gathered in front of a sofa, where the older Ranger laid unconscious. Ben was shocked. "Rand?!"

"What happened to him?!" Arata asked.

"We don't know…" Date replied. "I wanted to stay at the tower for a bit to make sure none of the repair guys were slacking off, so Rand went home by himself. Moments later Matayoshi called me back here, telling me he found him unconscious on the floor."

Takumi looked around. "Where are Kyoko and the others?"

"No idea." Yuugo sighed.

"Rand's in bad shape." Matayoshi muttered. "I don't want to imagine what happened to his family and Kyo-Kyo. Fei's missing too."

"Ohhhh…" Everyone redirected their attention to the sofa. Rand winced and slowly started to move.

"It looks like Rand's coming around!" Guilmon said.

The man opened his eyes and looked around. "You guys…where…"

"You're safe sir, don't worry." Yuuko replied. "Try not to move too much."

"I'm okay. Don't worry about me. Ughh…"

"Rand, don't push yourself too hard." Ben said.

"H-hello…?"

Everyone heard a voice from the computer nearby. Takumi ran over to it and turned the screen on. "Tokomon!"

The Digimon was cowering. "Are they gone…?"

Lopmon ran over to the countertop and stood in front of it. "Tokomon! Are your okay?!"

"Yes…But Calumon, Nema and the others…"

Rand gasped as what happened came back to him. "Th-that's right! Leanne, Nema and Kyoko were…" he tried to stand up and immediately regretted it.

Summer ran over to him and helped him lie back down. "Rand! You shouldn't be moving!"

"Did something happen to Kyoko and the others?!" Takumi asked.

Rand coughed. "Leanne, Nema and Kyoko…They were kidnapped!"

Everyone gasped. "What did you say?!" Ami yelled.

"The Pinchers…Ugh…"

"A bunch of mean, scary people broke into the house while all of you were gone!" Tokomon said. "They came up from behind Rand! He didn't even get a chance to defend himself before he was knocked out! Fei and FanBeemon tried to fight them off, but there were too many! They broke into the computer and stole Calumon!"

Nokia gasped. "Calumon was kidnapped too?!"

"What about Fei?!" Yuugo asked.

"I think she and FanBeemon ran after them…As they were ransacking the place, I heard one of them talking about using Nema and everyone as hostages…"

"That's terrible!" Summer growled.

"Unforgivable!" Everyone looked at Takumi who was clutching his fists. "Where are these Pinchers!? I'll hunt down every last one of them!"

"T-Takumi, what's gotten into you?" Terriermon asked.

"We need to find them now!" Ami yelled. "We can't waste any time!"

"Ami, calm down!" Summer took a grip of the young girl's shoulders.

Ben did the same for Takumi. "Tak, take it easy!" The two sleuths let out a deep breath. "I know Kyoko is like family to you. Heck, she might as well be your mother! We'll find her, I promise. We'll find all of them."

Takumi looked down sadly. "Okay."

"Tokomon, Rand, do you know where they went?" Yuugo asked.

The Digimon shivered. "No…"

"Sadly me neither…" Rand sighed. He looked like he might pass out again.

Matayoshi ran to his side. "Rand! Pull yourself together! We'll take care of this. Do you know who lead the attack? Red Eyes? Blue Eyes?"

"I think Red Eyes would be more likely to do this between the two." Terriermon said.

"Good point." Takumi replied. "Blue Eyes was demoted, so she wouldn't have the authority to pull off an organized attack like this."

"I honestly don't think either of them would do something like this." Summer said.

"You sure about that?" Arata asked. "Need I remind you of all the Pokemon and Digimon they abducted, and the time Red Eyes took you and Yuuko hostage?"

"Tokomon, did you see them by any chance?" Nokia asked.

"No…My view was limited to anything in front of this monitor and the only one who came here was the guy that hacked the computer."

Rand laid back down. "I saw something as I was losing consciousness. At the time, the person ordering the Pinchers around looked like they were wearing a red uniform, but it also could have been a blue uniform…Everything was going dark, so I couldn't really see."

"Red or blue? So, it might have been either Blue Eyes or Red Eyes." Arata sighed. "Darn it…Maybe we should have gone after that creep after we beat him."

"The uniform could have been red and blue for all we know." Matayoshi said. "We could have a new enemy on our hands."

"I also don't think those two are rotten to the core." Murph said.

Ami nodded. "Come to think of it…we never found out who Blue Eyes' mysterious leader who demoted her and gave her a Digimon was."

Suddenly Summer's Styler started beeping. "Huh?"

"What's that?" Agumon asked.

"My Styler switched to beacon-tracking mode!"

"Beacon-tracking mode?" Arata asked. "I swear there has to be a better name for that."

"It looks like it's picking up the signal of a beacon."

Rand shot up. "Th-that has to be Nema! She learned form what you and Yuuko did back in the Submarine and started carrying around a homing device with her."

"Where is it pointing?" Ben asked.

Summer looked at the device. "Let's see…The beacon's position is…"

She pressed a button and her Voice Nav booted up. "Somewhere around the center of Sophian Island. The signal is being broadcast from a big waterfall."

"That waterfall has to be Silver Falls." Rand said. "Do you remember the flowing river that's just a short walk north of the Aqua Resort of Sophian Island? The falls are a long way upstream on that river. Unfortunately, you can't reach it over land."

"So, we have to go up that river?" Summer asked. "I know! I'll summon Suicune! It can probably get us there!"

"Then let's hurry." Ami said. "Next stop, Sophian Island!" Everyone nodded.

"Nema…" Rand tried again to get up. "Leanne…I'm coming to save you, so hang on!"

"Rand! You can't go anywhere with an injury like that!" Summer objected.

Ben nodded. "Please, leave this to us!"

"Pichu!"

"Star!" the Rangers' Pokemon called in agreement.

"Rand! I really know how you feel, but if you do something dangerous, I'll get very angry!" Murph said.

"You'll only hurt your family more if you put yourself in more danger." Matayoshi said. "Please, leave it to us."

"Murph…Okay. I'll leave it to you…"

"I'll take care of Rand's wounds." Murph said. "Believe it or not, I wanted to be a doctor when I was a kid!"

"Yes, you mentioned that before." Date said.

"All the same, it would be better if you could get a hold of Edward." Ben replied.

Murph looked up at him. "That's right! Edward! Let's have Edward look at you!"

"I wonder where Edward is right now." Summer pondered. "He's always really busy running around Oblivia."

"Yeah, finding him is going to be like a needle in a haystack." Arata muttered.

"Well, for now we should go to Silver Falls." Matayoshi said.

"Sir…I think you should stay here." Takumi said.

"What?"

"You don't have Digimon or Pokemon to defend yourself with."

"I can't just sit back while you all risk your lives for Kyo-kyo!"

"I know how you feel, sir." Ami said. "But please, leave this to us."

"Sir! I'll go in your place!" Date said.

"Me too!" Lopmon added. "I'm worried about Calumon! He holds the power of Digivolution! Who knows what the Pinchers might do with him!"

"We'll save the fish-I mean Kyoko, sir! We'll save them all! I swear it on my honor as a member of the force!" Date said with pride and determination.

"Date…everyone…Thank you." Matayoshi said. "Please save Kyo-kyo. If something happens to her I don't know if I'll ever be able to face her father again."

"We got it." Takumi replied.

"Let's hurry to Silver Falls!" Ben said. "We're getting our friends back!"

"Right!"

The team hurried to Sophian Road and to the nearby lake. "Okay, we're here." Nokia said. "Now what?"

"This is the river." Ami said. "Going against the flow will lead us to the waterfall."

"I'll call Suicune right now." Summer said. "But it won't be able to carry all of us."

"We'll follow you on some flying Digimon and Staraptor." Takumi replied.

"Okay."

DIGIVOLUTION

"Terriermon Warp Digivolve to…Rapidmon!"

"Guilmon Warp Digivolve to…RizeGreymon!"

"Palmon WarpDigivolve to…Angewomon!"

"Agumon Warp Digivolve to…MetalGreymon!"

Summer jumped into the air and drew a symbol of the ground. "Go, Guardian Sign! Suicune, come forth!" she landed on the majestic Pokemon as it appeared in a splash of water. Ben and Pichu climbed on with her. Date and Loopmon climbed onto Staraptor. Angewomon picked up Ami. Takumi, Arata, and Keramon got on Rapidmon. Nokia and Gabumon got onto MetalGreymon. Yuuko and Yuugo got on RizeGreymon.

"Okay, everyone follow me!" Summer said before Suicune roared and jumped onto the water. It ran up the stream as Staraptor and the Digimon followed.

Up ahead Carvanha were jumping around in the water. "Yikes, those things look angry." Nokia said.

"Just stay above them." Summer replied.

"What about you?" Yuuko asked.

Suicune narrowed its gaze on the Pokemon and took a mighty leap past them. "Wow, that was fast!" Data said. "This legendary Pokemon sure live up to the legends."

"Let's keep moving!" Summer said as Suicune dodged more Pokemon. The team continued until they saw a massive waterfall.

"That must be Silver Falls." Takumi said. "Now what?"

Summer checked her Styler. "The Styler's tracking mode is pointing at the other side of this cliff…Could the entrance be behind the waterfall?"

Ben pointed ahead. "It's all or nothing! Let's go behind the waterfall!"

"Uh…you want to jump into a waterfall?" Date asked. "Kinda risky."

Something to the left caught Yuugo's eye. "Wait! Look there!" He pointed to a trail of land that lead behind the waterfall.

Summer glanced at it. "Oh!" She lead Suicune to the land and dismounted with Ben. "Over here! There's a gap behind the waterfall that looks passable!"

Everyone landed near them. They saw a hole in the wall behind the waterfall. "Let's check it out." Ben said as he lead the team inside. Once they entered the cave, they saw a large corridor.

"A space like this behind a waterfall!" Summer said in awe. "It's amazing…"

"Kyoko, Leanne and Nema must be held somewhere in this cave!" Ami said. "Let's hurry and save them!"

Ben and Summer posed. "Mission on!"

They ran down the path until Ben stopped. "What is it?" Takumi asked.

"Someone's here…" They looked ahead to see a Pokemon Pincher with his Riolu, beating on something on the ground.

"Pokemon Pinchers?!" Summer gasped. "But what's that on the ground?"

Yuuko got a closer look at their victim. "Is that FanBeemon?!" Sure enough, it was Fei's Digimon on the ground. Riolu was kicking at it.

"Stop right there!" Date yelled as she ran ahead.

"Blazing Ice!" Lopmon shot a frozen blast from his mouth at Riolu. The Pokemon saw it coming and jumped away.

The Pincher saw the others approach. "H-how did you find out about this place?"

"What are you doing here?" Ben growled. "Your two leaders quit long ago! I guess you don't share their common sense."

"What are you talking about? Quit spouting nonsense and leave now!"

"Think you can boss us around?" Date asked cracking her knuckles.

"Makiko!" Lopmon jumped to her side. "Let's show them the power of the long arm of the law!"

"I couldn't have said it better myself partner!"

DIGIVOLUTION

"Lopmon Digivolve to…Turuiemon!"

The Pincher stepped back. "Digivolve…you guys have Digimon too?!"

Riolu pounced towards Turuiemon who charged forward as well. "Ninja Claw!" Turuiemon struck with more force and Riolu was flung into the wall. As it slumped their Pichu jumped over and played a soothing tune while Ben and Summer used their Stylers and tamed it.

"Now we're in for it…" The Pincher ran further into the cave.

"Stop!" Summer ordered. "Where are Leanne, Neam and Kyoko?"

Gabumon ran to FanBeemon. "Hey, are you alright?"

Ami looked at her Digimon. "Angewmon!"

"I'm on it." The angel landed in front of FanBeemon. "Revive!"

A gold light spouted from FanBeemon and she winced as she looked up. "You guys…what are you doing here?"

"We heard what happened from Rand and Tokomon." Yuuko replied. "Where's Fei?"

"Ugh…we chased them here…we fought their reinforcements while Kyoko, Leanne and Nema, were being dragged off…Then I got hit from behind…by that Digimon…Myotismon."

Everyone gasped. "Myotismon is here too?!" Arata asked. "That creep must be working for the Pinchers!"

"What happened to Fei?!" Yuuko asked.

"They took her…There's more…it's not just Pinchers here…they've got…oh…"

Angewomon put a hand on her arm. "Save your strength. We'll find her."

Ami held out her goggles. "Angewemon, take FanBeemon into my Digivice and heal her."

Angewomon nodded and picked up FanBeemon. Both were absorbed into Ami's Digivice.

"So Myotismon was behind this?" Nokia asked. "Well, I guess he does wear red and blue, so he fits what Rand saw."

"I dunno." Rapidmon replied. "There are things about him that stand out much more then his color. Plus, doesn't it seem odd for the Pinchers to take orders from a Digimon instead of the other way around?"

"Myotismon…" Date said. "Didn't you kids say it was with Arcadiamon? That Digimon from the volcano?" Takumi nodded.

"Still, Rand said he saw red or blue." Summer said. "If it wasn't Myotismon he was referring to, do you think Red Eyes or Blue Eyes has really come back?"

"Hmm…" Yuuko thought for a moment. "If Arcadiamon is involved that would explain it."

"What do you mean?" Ben asked.

"Remember when I told you how it corrupted a man named Ryuji? It could be doing the same to Red Eyes or Blue Eyes right now."

Arata nodded. "Yeah, that makes sense. When it was with him, Ryuji went nuts. Who knows what Red Eyes or Blue Eyes would do if it got into their heads?"

"We should hurry then." Takumi said.

"But before that…" Ben drew on the ground with his Styler. "Go, Guardian Sign! Hitmontop, come forth!"

Summer was next. "Go, Guardian Sign! Vulpix, come forth!"

Two Pokemon appeared before them. "If we need to deal with the Pinchers, Arcadiamon and Myotimson, we're gonna need some backup." Ben said. The gang continued into the cave and saw an interesting interior.

"What is this place?" Ami asked. "It looks like some kind of abandoned ruins…"

They looked up ahead and saw a pathway, but it was blocked by a mysterious cube. "Let's clear that obstacle and get moving." Date said. "Lop-I mean Turuiemon!"

"Right! Mach Rush!" Turuiemon charged, both fists forward, but it had no effect. "Ow!"

"Brute force won't do the job." Summer said. "Let's look for a Pokemon, with an ability that can move it."

"Okay." Ben nodded. The team turned around where the pathway branched and split up.

This first chapter was admittedly shorter then I wanted to start things off with, but hopefully it'll be enough for you all to sink your teeth into for now.
