The air was filled with tension. They had been arguing for the last while, and it wasn't getting better with time by any means. Why couldn't Mari just leave him alone? He did the best he could to stay calm, but he was getting tired by all of the abuse Mari was heaping on him just for wanting to stop for a while.

"Why do you have to be so childish?! It's just an hour more, we need this to be perfect!" she nearly shouted, staring at Sunny.

This is really not what Sunny had in mind when he first picked up playing with the violin. It was just a way to connect with Mari, who he was seeing less and less of everyday, and for them to enjoy some time together. Now it had become the thing that was tearing them apart, even if Mari thought it was for a good reason.

Sunny, fed up with all this, then said "No! I don't care about that! I've had enough! I'm going off to see Basil.". With this, he tried to shoulder past Mari to go down the stairs.

Mari, seeing this, then tried to push him back. In her mind, they weren't done talking, and he was going to stay right where he was until they had.

But Sunny wasn't as stable as Mari thought he was. And so, he tipped over.

Sunny, in disbelief, stared at Mari for what felt as an eternity as he began to fall down the stairs.

And in a moment, it was over. There was blood splattered on every few steps, a morbid trail that lead to the cadaver at the bottom.

"Sunny!"

As fast as possible, Mari ran down, hoping with all of her heart that he wasn't too badly injured, as it was evident that he was at the very least not fine. When she reached the bottom, she gasped, and to stop herself from retching. His right arm was broken in at least two places, and there were bruises all over him. But none of that mattered. After all, with a broken neck, not a lot of injuries matter more at that moment.

She was convinced he was dead. That was until he woke with a gasp, looked at her with eyes full of dread and pain, and rasped "….Mari…..Help". Then, his head fell limp, his eyes still open, as he took his last breath.

After that, there was nothing that could be heard in the house for a long time, except the screams and pleading of a traumatized Mari.

Well. That was something. Haven't written a fanfic in 7+ years, just something I wrote to become better at it, but I thought it was at least ok. I could probably continue it at some later point, there is a lot you could do to with this idea, but for now it will remain a simple one-shot.
