Back in the 70's
When going into work, Granger noticed that Hetty was giving him weird looks.
'Say, what's up with her?' He asked.
'Could be because of what you said to her last night.' Dave replied.
'What did I say?'
'You told her that you loved her.'
Awkward silence.
'Wait, what? When did I say that?' Granger asked.
'When we were at the bar last night. You must've had a few drinks last night, because you went up to her and told her that you loved her.'
'No no, I definitely would've remembered saying something like that to her, oh…'
Then he started remembering what had happened the night before:
After having 3 drinks, he went over to Hetty and asked how their relationship had been going, and she said it was going pretty well. Then he said that he loved her.
'Oh boy. How did she take it?' Granger asked.
'She was quite stunned. Actually, she went home after you said that.' Dave replied.
'She did know that I was a bit drunk when I said that, right?'
'You'll have to ask her.'
He went over to her office.
'Can we talk?' He asked.
'About what?' She replied.
'About what I said last night when we were at the bar. I was a bit drunk when I said those words, and I would've picked a much different time to tell you how I felt about you. I hope you understand.'
Hetty took a minute to ponder on what he said.
'I had a feeling that you were drunk when you said those words. I was just really surprised that you even said those words to me. We've only been on 2 dates, and I haven't had a guy say that he loves me that quickly before in a relationship! So yes, I do understand.' She said.
'Thank you.'
'Though, do you have feelings for me?'
Looking stunned. 'I uh, I'm still figuring that out.' Granger replied, nervously.
'I am too.'
Granger left, relieved that he didn't screw up their relationship. Then started to wonder if he did have feelings for her.
'Oh darn. This is all I'm going to think about all day, isn't it?!' He thought to himself, grumbling.
