Chapter One

Metropolis at night is very beautiful. With its large buildings and strong architecture, the city breathes with life. If you were lucky, sometimes you might spot Superman himself flying into the sky. If not him, then perhaps two of his boys, Conner or Jon. Pray however that it isn't the evil Lex Luthor in a mech suit. That would be a dreadful sight.

That night, Conner and Jon were actually flying into the city, just to chill out. And it was their brotherly time together as well. Conner, at age 17, was always busy with the Teen Titans, saving the world from villains. Jon on the other hand was just barely 13 years of age. He technically joined the Titans, but as a pending member. Due to his age, he isn't allowed to go on higher class missions. But it didn't bother Jon one bit. All Jon wanted was to spend time with his brother, who was often away at war. War for peace and justice.

"I'm so happy to fly with you Conner." said Jon cheerfully.

"Likewise I suppose," said Conner.

"C'mon, don't be sulking. I begged and begged to have you all to myself." said Jon.

"Dude, that sounds creepy," said Conner.

"Sorry. It's just that I don't see you anymore." said Jon.

"I know. But its not like I can take a break. The villains always come back for more punches. I mean seriously. That Doctor Blight man is such a pain in the ass." said Conner.

"You said a bad word." said Jon.

"Okay, remind me to put some cash in the swear jar at home." said Conner.

"I won't tell Mom." said Jon.

"Anyway, what's up with you and Damian Wayne? Did something happen between you two?" asked Conner.

"I don't like to talk about it." said Jon. The boys landed at the top of a large building and they overlooked the bustling city downbelow. Despite being already late into the night, people were out and about minding their business.

"Did that brat do something to you? I swear to God Jon, if he hurt you in any way, I'll talk with his older brothers about this." said Conner.

"Oh no, he didn't do anything. We just got into an argument." said Jon.

"Over what?" asked Conner.

"Damian has been a little too aggressive lately. He's been training long hours and he's been out with his Dad most of the time." said Jon.

Conner nodded and Jon spoke more. "Uncle Brucey is a nice man, but he's also very tough. I think he's making Damian more mean than he already is." said Jon.

"Well he is the son of Batman. He's supposed to be mean." said Conner.

"But Nightwing and Red Robin aren't like that! They are super nice and nothing like Uncle Brucey or Damian." said Jon.

Conner chuckled. "Dick and Tim are not Bruce's sons. He adopted them. Damian is HIS son. Biologically speaking." said Conner.

"It's just that I hardly spend time with Damian and I feel left out at times." said Jon.

"Do you guys still see each other at Titan School?" asked Conner.

"Sometimes. But the Titans have been using him a lot. And he's also spending time with Raven." said Jon.

Conner looked at Jon as he sat with his arms around his knees. His red cape was being blown into the air and he didn't seem to care.

"I feel so lost." said Jon.

Conner patted Jon's back softly. "Dude, your 13. It's an age where you change. I don't know much about that. Remember, I was cloned and came out looking like I do. But why don't you ask Dad? He's been there, done that." said Conner.

"Conner, why is growing up so scary?" asked Jon.

Conner didn't know what to say, but he smiled. "It's not scary. Think of it as an adventure."

When the boys returned home, Jon went to his bedroom and fell on his bed. His bedroom was dark and he didn't really like it. He quickly turned on his cute lamp with glow in the dark stars and smiled. Deep down, he was still just a boy.

"You really need to talk to Jon. He's been feeling really moody." said Conner to Superman as they flew to the Hall of Justice.

"I know. He's been doing newer things such as not cleaning up his clothes or being a little pouty during dinner. I'm a little scared of myself." said Superman.

"If only the Titans could take him on missions. Jon is ready for tougher action." said Conner.

"I don't approve just yet son. Jon is still very little." said Superman.

"Robin was nine years old and he faced dangerous clowns." said Conner.

"That was different. Bruce has a very different mindset and Gotham City is nothing like Metropolis. The less time Jon spends in that terrible place the better." said Superman.

Conner exhaled. "I'm just worried for Jon. He'll be even more lonely in Smallville. I know Grandpa and Grandma are willing to take care of him, but Jon needs to spend more time with the Titans." said Conner.

"Believe Conner, Smallville is the safest place I can think of for Jon. Ever Since that Red Hood incident, The Bat Family has been much more vigilant with themselves and the city. That also affected Jon and he's been worried for Damian's well being. That is sweet of him, but he also needs to spend time with regular people." said Superman.

"Regular people? But Dad, Jon is not regular." said Conner.

"I know. But I don't want this life for him. Facing dangerous alien warlords, dealing with criminals with no sympathy for humanity. I want Jon to have a safe and pleasant childhood." said Superman.

"Dad, we've got no choice. We have these gifts for a reason. You have said so many times in the graduation parties for the Teen Titans. But I'll respect your wishes. However, I'm still not sure if this is a good idea." said Conner.

"He'll do fine. I know he will." said Superman.
