After a crazy last round, I'm back with a drabble for Round 3! It's for Slytherin HOH, if you still need me to tell you :)
For this story, I have picked the prompt (animal) white rabbit! This has obvious Alice In Wonderland hints, so I am going to use that as a bit of inspiration. Enjoy!!

As Lucy Weasley played out in the garden one evening, she felt the chill late summer breeze, raising goosebumps on her pale skin. Today is absolutely perfect, she thought. The day had been something out of a dream, aided by the fact that she had spent the entire afternoon exploring the trees around her house.
She hadn't really found anything of note, but that didn't faze her. She simply had a good time whenever she got to go exploring- it was rare that it stopped raining long enough to make it worthwhile. Today, she had even managed to convince her younger sister, Molly, to come outside with her, and Molly had found a small white rabbit.
"Lucy!" Molly called out to her older sister. Lucy looked over from a pile of felled trees she was exploring to where Molly had crouched, eyeing something intently.
"What is it?" Lucy asked, heading over and joining Molly. On the ground, there was a small white rabbit. He shook slightly, terrified and alone.
"Oh, my gosh!" she exclaimed. "Where did he come from?"
Molly shrugged. "I dunno, but he's really little. Did you see another rabbit? A bigger one that might be his mom!"
Lucy stared pensively at the little rabbit and realized. "He probably doesn't have a mum," she said.
Molly was confused. "But everyone has a mum!"
"No, I mean, something happened to her," Lucy explained. "She got lost, or she…"
Molly still didn't understand, crinkling her nose in confusion. Lucy was reluctant to break the news to her baby sister, but she supposed it had to happen at some point.
"She might have died or been killed."
Molly's eyes widened in understanding and sadness. "Poor little rabbit! He has to miss his mum. He's all alone in the world now." After a moment, she lit up with an idea. "Do you think Mum would let us keep him? Then we can take care of him, and the white rabbit might not miss his mum as much!"
"We can ask." Lucy suggested, shrugging. "Let's take him with us just in case. We can't just leave him here."
And in the end, their mother did agree to let them keep the little white rabbit. Molly was over the moon.
"He's gonna be so happy with us!" she exclaimed as they headed onto the porch after waving their mum goodbye. "Let's think of a name for him!"
"Cheshire?" Lucy suggested, stroking his white fur as Molly held him. Their mother had gone to the Magical Menagerie, picking up things on a list of items they decided they would need for the tiny rabbit in their lives. "From the book with the white rabbit who has a pocket watch?"
"Who's that?" Molly asked.
"Oh, right!" Lucy realized. "I don't think Mum has read it to you yet. Maybe we can go to the library and I can read it for you then."
And so, Lucy sent Molly inside as the wind got chillier. Today had been a great day. Sure, she hadn't been the one to find their new pet, but that was what had made today great. Her sister, who never joined her outside, had chosen to do so today. Now they had a new friend to show for it.
