Dr. Thomas "Tommy" Oliver was confused and somewhat happy when he got a call after his last class of the day. The call was from his friend and former teammate back when they were Power Rangers together a long time ago. "Jason?" Tommy asked into his phone looking at the doorway as he does so. In the doorway stood Trent Fernandez-Mercer, looking around nervously. Trent was the newest member of the dino rangers and was once evil. Tommy was there for him when he needed it because he was once evil himself when he was around his age. Though, Tommy was younger. Tommy has a connection with this teen because of this. Tommy moved his head to one of the desks. Smiling, Trent walked over to a desk and sat down and pulled out his notepad.

"Hey, man. it's been a while," Jason said into the phone. Tommy laughed.

"Yeah, it has. What's up?" Tommy asked looking at Trent who was drawing in his notepad that sat on the desk.

'I was wondering if you wanted to have dinner? catch up. I'm in Reefside," Tommy smiled at Jason's offer and nodded.

"That would be great. Do you want to go out or come over to my place?" Tommy asked over the phone looking at Trent who looked up from his notepad.

'I'll come over, just tell me your address and I'll be over at five," Jason said laughing over the phone. Tommy smiled and told him his address before he said:

"I'll see you there old friend," Tommy hangs up the phone and looks at Trent who asked:

"Who was that?" Tommy smiled and looked at the door before he said:

"Former teammate and friend back when I was in school. So, what's up?" Trent sighed and ran a hand over his face.

"Dad's on a business trip and I have no one….to look after me and I don't…." Trent cut off with another sigh. However, Tommy smiled.

"I know this might sound wrong, but do you want to stay with me till he gets back? Do you know when he'll come back?" Tommy asked however it took him a while to say anything as if he got nervous all of a sudden. Trent took a deep breath and nodded.

"No, I don't," Trent said nervously. Tommy hummed but he nodded anyway. Though he did not know why he was nervous, maybe because he's never been alone at home before. Tommy did not know for sure.

"Alright, then it's settled. When I'm done looking over these essays, we can go," Tommy said with a smile. Trent nodded and looked back to his notepad.

"Dr. O?" Trent asked after a few minutes. Tommy who was taking off his glasses that he wears for some reason while he looked up from a paper on his desk, hummed.

"Yeah, Trent?" Tommy asked looking at his student who has been through so much.

"I feel wrong, or out of place working with the other rangers," Tommy looked at him and sighed but he did not say anything for a while for he knew what Trent was going through. However, he did not really want to say anything to him about him being evil too in school. So, he said nothing and nodded. Trent nodded as well.

"Can we talk about it later?" he asked Tommy who smiled and stood up.

"Yeah, come on. We should get going. I don't want to be here for long," Trent laughed at his teacher who sounded like a teen when he said this. Tommy laughed and walked over to the door with his briefcase in hand. He then walked out the door with Trent close behind.

Tommy and Trent walked to Tommy's black jeep in silence though Tommy knew that Trent wanted to ask him something. Tommy realized that he has never told Trent about how he became a Power Ranger and Tommy was a little nervous to tell him, but the former green ranger knows that Trent, of all people, would understand. "Do you have to go to work today?" Tommy asked once they got into the jeep. Trent shook his head.

"No, I told Hayley that I need to work on my homework. Since I stopped being possessed by an evil gem, I realized that I have a lot of homework to do," Tommy laughed at this.

"Yeah, I know how that feels," Tommy muttered under his breath, but Trent heard it.

"What was that Dr. O?" Trent asked but Tommy did not say anything as he started the jeep and started to drive away.

Tommy was worried about Trent. He was quieter than usual, and Tommy wondered why. Was it because he feared for his safety? Or was it because Trent was just him in a way? The former red ranger did not know for sure. Tommy took a deep breath before he said: "Trent are you alright?" Tommy turned a corner that led to Trent's house. Trent sighed but he did not say anything for a while.

"Yeah, I'm alright. I was just thinking about something," Trent said after a while. Tommy hummed and pulled the car up to the house.

"Why don't you call your dad and get some things. Do you want me to come in?" Tommy asked but Trent shook his head and quickly got out of the car. Tommy was even more nervous now when Trent bolted into the house and quickly shut the door behind him.

'What was that all about?' Tommy thought as his thoughts went to Jason. His best friend, the person that was there from him after he was free from Rita Repulsa. A cold chill went down his spine when the thought of if he wasn't freed came into his mind. Tommy closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he opened them and saw Trent run back to the car with fear in his eyes and a bag in his hand. Tommy watched as he got into the car and wiped the tears from his eyes and smiled.

"Alright, let's go Dr. O," Trent said with tears still in his eyes. Tommy looked at him and shook his head.

"What happened?" Tommy asked nervously but Trent did not say anything. Tommy sighed and drove away not saying anything as the car grew quiet.

'I don't want to go back home when dad gets back. I have too though.' Trent thought as they pulled up to Doctor Oliver's place. "Dr. O?" Trent asked when Tommy stopped the car. Tommy looked at Trent and hummed.

"Yes, Trent?" Tommy asked trying to hide the nerves in his voice.

"I was wondering why you were helping me?" Trent asked as Tommy and Trent got out of the car and walked to the front door. Tommy opened the door and sighed.

"Because…because…." Tommy trailed off and walked into the house without saying anything. Trent hummed and walked in with the question still in the air.

A/N: Ok, my first Power Ranger story so don't judge me. I would never have done this last year because I would have been so embarrassed to write. I love the idea of Tommy being there for Trent after he was freed. It would make sense. They are the same person in a way. Anyway, thank you all for reading and tell me what you think. I know it's bad so please be nice. Thank you again and I will see you next time. Now I'm off to watch MMPR and Tommy getting tied to a tree. Lol. -Captain Voxland
