A/N: I know I have two stories of the Vd/Originals on the go but both have been playing on my mind for sometime, I can only hope you like and enjoy and hope to hear your thoughts on the Prologue. Again this is going to get dark and yes Elijah will be dark in this story too along with Klaus.

Prologue

I remember your comforting voice.
Now there's not a sound.
Only echoes from the past
Follow me around.

She still couldn't comprehend why she had let them talk her into this as she held both Elijah and Klaus's wrist stopping them from killing each other. After all, her life would be better without them and she doubted she was the only one that had the same thought as she.

"Before both of you heroically commit suicide we need to talk." She started looking both dead in the eyes, before letting them go and back off slowly. Their eyes followed her every single move.

She knew too well that they would kill her without a second thought if she lingered too long.

"Elena." Elijah said, shocked that she was here standing in front of him, along with Klaus, though she was sure he was taking in her measure.

"There is another way to save your family." Elena continued as if he hadn't even spoken. All she cared about was getting the message across and leaving. "However it requires all your family members including Marcel and Davina."

"What do you mean?" Klaus demanded though it was half heart which surprised her, considering she thought she would be pinned up the wall by her neck.

"It will be all explained when you bring everyone to mystic fall," Elena answered. "To the place you trapped me." She eyed Elijah pointedly who was currently piecing her with his eyes. "Be there two nights from now at one am." She said, turning back to Klaus.

"Why." Was all Klaus asked.

However, Elena said nothing, she just turned and disappeared.

"What did they say?" A female voice asked as Elena opened the car door and got in.

"Absolutely nothing," Elena said, turning to her. "We just have to wait and see what happens next Caroline." She saw how worried her friend was but she and her both knew that you couldn't force an original to anything. "All we can do now is wait."

Though she hoped it would be worth it considering what monsters their family are.

"Though tell me again why I had to be the one to do it?" Elena asked as she put the music on.

"You know why?" Caroline replied. "She said it had to be you."

"Which makes no sense at all," Elena replied sarcastically, as she looked at Caroline who started the engine and began to drive. "Do you even believe they will turn up?"

"Honestly, I don't know," Caroline responded doubtfully. "But she said they would so we have to believe they will."

"I suppose." Elena replied though still not convinced that this was the right way of going about things.

Suddenly Caroline hit the steering wheel.

"I wish there was another way." Elena stayed quiet for a moment, it was something they had argued about all the way down here and she was sure it wouldn't be the last.

There was alot riding on this situation for both of them. Elena and Caroline could barely handle things now. However, Elena still felt there was too much of a risk especially with them involved.

"Are you absolutely positive that she will keep her word?" Elena asked.

"Elena, I honestly don't know," She answered clearly distressed as much as she was. "We can only hope."

"Perhaps," Elena replied, though she wanted to argue. They had no idea what the effects of this deal would be, they were both flying blind here. "But we need a backup plan."

"I know." Caroline replied as she reached and touched her friend's hand in support.
