I'm only gonna say this once since I'm pretty sure it should be obvious. I do not own any of the characters portrayed in this fic.

Chapter 1. Emmaline the Vampire Queen.

In Hogwarts, we learned about the Volturi briefly in 3rd year Defense Against the Dark Arts, then again there was a mentioning of it in 5th year History of Magic. When reading about them, The Volturi are abstract. It's just a piece of information to learn for the test and you move on. It doesn't pertain to real life. Reading about them couldn't possibly prepare anyone for standing in front of them – as a human, telling them that by some magical accident involving a stick a cloak and a rock that you're actually their queen. I mean, could you imagine your Sunday roast walking in to your home, cooked to perfection and declaring they were now your boss? That's how I feel right this second. I'm the delicious, juicy, Sunday roast dancing on the dinner table. At least I have the supposed benefit of not being able to die, or so I'm told. I haven't actually gotten to test that yet, though it looks like I'm going to get to soon.

I look up at the three vampires in front of me, the one in the middle, Aro is laughing a deep belly laugh like he's never heard anything funnier in his existence. The one on the right, Marcus, is just staring at me blankly, I get the feeling he doesn't react to much of anything. The one on the left, Caius, looks like he wants to eat me. There are a few other vampires around as well, most of whom are chuckling as well. I'm holding my ground the best I can, but they can clearly sense I have no confidence in my voice. I don't want to be here. I just have nowhere else to go. I wait for the laughter to stop to see what is going to happen next, my fingernails digging in to my palms painfully as I clench my hands in irritation.

"Thank you my dear." Aro eventually says wiping a non-existing tear from his eye. "It has been... far too long since we've had dinner and a show." He chuckles again briefly, then looks to one of the vampires behind me, the small blonde one, I think. She's been staring daggers at me the whole time I've been here. If she were human, I swear she'd be red in the face, I mean it almost looked like she was complicated. I chance taking my eyes off of the three in front of me to look at her and she just looks frustrated now. I look back in front of me to see the briefest flash of confusion on Aro's face, then he looks at me a bit more seriously.

"Come here, child." He says softly but firmly. I roll my eyes and just step forward. They can eat me if they want. I have nothing to live for anyway. I'm only here because apparently, it's my job now that I'm the 'Master of Death'. We'll see how long that lasts. Aro holds out his hand to me and I tentatively place my hand is his. The temperature difference is startling at first. I can't believe this is the first time I've ever actually touched a vampire. Aro has his eyes closed and his brows are furrowed in concentration.

"how intriguing. I see nothing." He breathes. "Tell me child, how have you come to learn of us?"

"Err...In school." I answer, confused. Why does he want to know that? Anger crosses his eyes.

"And pray tell, what school teaches it's students of vampires?" He asks tersely. Oh, he doesn't know about magic.

"Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." I answer him again. "I'm a witch." There is an outbreak of muttering behind me and I hear one voice in particular saying that I'm crazy. I just continue to look at Aro and shrug.

"How intriguing." He says again. Then looking over my shoulder he speaks to the small blonde one again. "Jane dear, am I correct in assuming that you have been attempting to use your power on this girl?"

I turn around to look at her when she answers. "I have, my lord, but it has not seemed to affect her no matter how much I throw." She sounds annoyed.

Aro turns to the vampire on the left. "She could be an asset to us, even if she is a bit mad. After all, Jane here has turned out so well."

Caius is still staring at me like he'd rather eat me just for stating that I should outrank them but turns to answer his brother. Before he can answer, however, Marcus speaks up.

"She doesn't smell like food." He states. And as if they had only just noticed this his brothers both sniff in my direction.

"we shall leave it up to you then." Caius sneers. "Join us, or die." He then leans back in his chair and watches me with calculating eyes.

"You can try if you'd like." I tell him. "I was told by Death himself that you can't hurt me. I haven't come across any vampires yet to test that. So, I guess whether you want to try and change me or eat me, I'd put that task to someone you don't care much about. For science."

"Ha!" Caius let out. He clearly doesn't believe me. That's fair, I don't really believe me either.

Before I can blink, Caius himself has grabbed me and his teeth are at my neck, and then they're not. Caius is gone. In his place are a pile of ashes.

"Well," I say, while toeing the ashes. "guess that answers that question."

Pure chaos erupts in the throne room. Caius' mate Athenodora is wailing in agony and in her anger appears before me and throws me in to the wall across the room. I crumble to the ground, but injury I have been able to test. I heal quickly. I am able to stand again within seconds. Athenodora, still not thinking clearly appears before me again, this time attempting to sink her own teeth in to me. She also turns in to ash.

The other vampires are all screaming with the exception of Marcus who simply looks amused. One of their leaders and his wife are dead. And I hadn't even lifted a finger. Aro is scared, but it is Aro that seeks to regain order.

"SILENCE" he bellows. Before stepping down from his throne. Cautiously moving closer to me. "Who are you?" he demands of me.

"well, I thought that was pretty obvious by now." I said cheekily. "I'm Emmaline the Vampire Queen."

AN: IDK if I'm gonna continue this or not. I think it will depend on the response I get.
