Hi guys. This is my first ever fanfic please don't be mean, any constructive criticism welcomed.

This is set in an AU High School Universe starring Erza, Jellal and many more of your Fairy Tail Favourites.

Erza POV

That pure spring air was still as refreshing as ever. I gazed at the towers which made up the haven known as Fairy High. Fairy High was one of the only places that I considered home. The distinct rustic smell of the lockers enveloped my nostrils as always as I began to head towards my locker. My locker was very unique compared to everyone else's. It was painted scarlet like the colour of my hair, and inside the word, or name rather 'Titania' was framed on the inner part of the door. This privilege was given to me after I won out first place in my school's academic rankings three years in a row, and now this year my 4th and final year I hope that the result is no different. There has been little competition for my threat as number one. Levy who was our school's number two was always too frazzled at exam time, and had the extra pressure of being Gajeel's girlfriend, the famed forward of our basketball team. Of course, his pals Gray, and Natsu the other basketball stars of the school weren't too much of help to my close friends Lucy and Juvia as they were blinded by love to even care about their grades. You may wonder how I, the famed Erza Scarlet, the Titania even managed to ignore the typical distractions of being a teenager such as relationships.

It's simple really, I just feel like I haven't found the right guy. Every guy that has asked me out was well not appealing. A guy from Pegasus High School across the district was too obsessed with my smell rather than me which would put any girl off. Baccus a guy from a year above me was well, he was a strange guy, but seemed like a person that would spell trouble. He was always seen with a vape, or a bottle of booze even though he has been told many times not to consume each item. Then other guys just seemed too thrown off by my intelligence, (or lack of social skills), or terrified of the way I treated Natsu and Gray in a big sister way.

Anyways, I gather my things from my locker and head over towards my first period class English,

"Hey Erza!"

It was Lucy, my best friend. She was in her usual white and blue outfit, and had all her folders in hand.

"Hey Lu how's it going?"

"Nothing much, did you hear that Cana is throwing a party tonight?"

Of course Cana is throwing a party. Cana was the resident wild girl, always too outgoing for her own good.

"Um no, when is it?"

"It's this Saturday at her place. She says that her dad the famous detective Gildarts allowed her to throw it because it's the last year and he wants it to be the most memorable year of Cana's life."

"Wow, that's cool. I don't know if I will go though, I kinda want to get a head start in science this year."

"Oh, Erza you nerd. I know you love your Titania title, but can't you just let loose for once?"
While I enjoyed hanging out with my friends in the weekends, I always made sure that I was strict on time and had enough time to study. Of course, I was the only one in the group without a 'significant other' so I always had more time than the others to begin with, and I made sure that I used it efficiently to maintain my Titania status.

"By the way, did you hear about the new transfer student? Apparently, he is like this master of many talents, academics, sports, and is even good looking. Who knows he may even be the right guy for you." Lucy stated.

"Lucy, you know that no guy is good for me, or that I am good for a guy in fact." With my well not so good history with guys I decided that I was not going to date anyone until university. High school was too good to be wasted on meaningless relationships which don't even last and instead should be focused on setting up my future.

"Let's head to class, I hear the transfer student will be in our last period class."

Off I went to my first period class with Lucy, and yet another exciting but lonely year awaits for Erza Titania Scarlet.

As I sat down in my usual middle row seat in English I notice out of the corner of my eye some new guy rushing his way past to head to the back. I wonder if he's new.

Jellal POV

"Jelly don't forget to conceal your birth mark with that cream I gave you."

"Yes mum, and please stop calling me Jelly."

I stared at myself in the mirror as I smeared some cream over a birth mark which vandalized my face. Today was the day of hopefully a new beginning. After Sorciere School shut down because of a scandal with some of its staff I needed a place to finish my high school years. I had it all in Sorciere, or Crime Sorciere as it is known as now. I was well on my way to getting Dux (valedictorian). Now I must crawl out of my shell and find a way to talk to these things which call themselves humans.

I was never fond of the other people in my school except for my younger sister Meldy, and my older sister Ultear. Of course, now Ultear has graduated and stayed in the capital for college, and Meldy found an all-girls school there, Mermaid Foot or something like that. Alas, mum and I moved back to Magnolia as Fairy High was the only good school left in Fiore as it was ranked 2nd behind Sorciere. I am sure that there aren't that many smart people though as its ranking was achieved through sport, so I should just quietly sit in the back, ace every exam and leave as the dux on my way to the nation's best college next year. Nothing complicated right?

*At school*

I looked up to see tall towers which seemed to make up the school. To the right of the main carpark was a large field, and also a gigantic gymnasium and I can vaguely hear a basketball coach yelling out some instructions from the gym. I found my way to reception so that I can get to my locker and classes.

"Um, excuse me Ms is this the reception?"

"Oh, yes dear. You must be Jellal our new transfer. I'm Ms Porlyusica, office lady, and school nurse. I have your locker number and code here, and your timetable here."

"Thank you Ms, I will go find my way to my locker and put my stuff there."

"Bye bye dear, be careful at lunch time, the cafeteria can get a little messy at times."

Let's see, locker 267, and my subjects are Math, English, Science, Economics and History.

I made my way to the second floor of the building as the 2 in the locker code indicates the floor. As I arrived, I observed the multitude of students experiencing the typical first day rush of finding all their friends, catching up about summer, and making their ways to their first classes. As I get to my locker I notice a disturbingly red painted locker next to mine. In front of the locker are two girls, a blonde, and a scarlet haired girl presumably the locker's owner conversing over something, probably some useless summer hangout which they had.

I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't get involved in any close friendships and remain alone and just survive. After what happened at Crime Sorciere it may be not the best situation if everyone found out what happened. I close my locker and head towards English my first class ran by Mr…

*Smack*

All my books fell onto the floor.

"Oh dang, sorry dude, I didn't mean to run into you."
"Natsu what are you doing you idiot."
"Why are you calling me an idiot, you pushed me Gray."

I was bumped into by two frantically rushing boys, a boy with bright pink/red hair who the black hair boy called Natsu. The black-haired boy I assume is Gray.

"Um it's all good don't worry, it was just an accident," but by the time I said don't worry they were already rushing off.

Natsu and Gray ran off to their lockers bickering away and drenched in sweat presumably from the basketball training earlier. I gathered my books off the ground and stepped into the next room my first class. I greeted the teacher Mr Mystogan who had similar blue hair to mine, and he instructed that I sit anywhere I wanted to. I saw an empty seat at the back corner of the class calling for me so I immediately headed their head down hoping no one would notice and sat down, and stayed quiet.

Erza POV

"Good morning, Class. Before I start this years first lesson I must first introduce you to a new transfer student. Jellal could you please come to the front of the class and introduce yourself."

Everyone turned to the back as the guy I saw earlier stood up, and wow was he handsome. He had such a defined jawline, messy but cool dark blue hair, but he strangely had some familiar aura around him. I ignored that aspect though, and paid attention to him.

"Um, Hi. My name is Jellal Fernandes, and I just transferred here from the capital, and I look forward to working with all of you this year."

"Thank you Jellal you may take a seat."

As he headed back towards his seat I notice all the girls in the class suddenly go all googoo eyed, and whispers start erupting around the class. I just roll my eyes and pay attention to Mr Mystogan.

This year in English it seemed to be another boring year, we first had to take a glance overview of our year and it seemed boring with Carol Ann Duffy poetry, followed by Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and quite frankly love bores me. This hate for love stems from well my history with it, and also my lack of it. As class continued Mr Mystogan asked a question, "Can someone tell me what the onion in Duffy's "Valentine" represents?"

I raise my hand to answer the question, but Mr Mystogan ignores me and asks the new kid Jellal to answer. Who knows why he does this, the new kid should never have to answer a question on his first day.

"Um well, the onion appears to be an extended metaphor about traditional love. Duffy alludes to layers of the onion which draws parallels to the layers of love, but the negative connotation of onion also alludes to Duffy's negative views on presumably traditional love." Jellal continued, but I was awestruck.

"Um Erza-chan you, ok?"

Lucy poked me.

"Hmm, oh yeah I am fine." I in fact was not fine. Not only this new kid just cute, but he is also potentially the biggest threat to my reign as Titania, and my ticket to the nation's best college.
