A/N: I don't own Harry Potter or any related characters

There were rules. There were always rules. Rules that Rose had learned early, when she'd managed to disappear from her crib for half an hour. Hermione had been besides herself. Babies weren't supposed to be travel. She herself hadn't started traveling to some time after her seventh birthday.

Apparently, Rose's genes had kicked in early. Thankfully, the toddler had reappeared unhurt. Hermione wasn't sure when Rose had gone, but whoever had found her had changed her nappy and put her in a small Slytherin shirt and matching skirt.

"Severus, did you ever happen to find a baby and dress her in Slytherin baby clothes?" she asked her husband.

"Not that I remember, Hermione. Why?"

"Because, Rose made her first jump and that is what she returned wearing. I don't think she went too far, the style on the outfit is pretty modern."

"How long was she gone?" Severus asked, trying to keep the concern from his voice. He knew Hermione could time travel, well, she used to be able to. He didn't remember her making a single jump since Rose's birth.

"About half an hour. I was about to call you when she reappeared. I thought she had just climbed out of her crib. Looks like we're going to have our hands full after all. I was kind of hoping she would be like you, and not randomly jump through the time stream," Hermione muttered. Severus hugged her tightly.

"I know, but we also knew this was a possibility. For now, we need to figure out a way to keep her safe, since she will be unable to control the jumps."

"Have you had any luck on the potion? I know you probably haven't even started it, since we thought we had more time."

"No, I have not had any luck on it. I did start it several times, but so far, nothing has worked. Did your parents have a way to keep you in the present?"

"No. But they did put my name and their phone number on all my clothes and wrote it on the bottom of my left foot. It was embarrassing!"

"They cared about you, Hermione."

"I know, I just... I really did hope Rose would be normal."

"She's normal for your family."

Hermione laughed and shook her head.

"I guess I'll start writing her name on her clothes. Think I should put our names on the bottom of her foot too?"

"It couldn't hurt," Severus laughed. "Where is Rose?"

"Hopefully still in her crib. If not there, then somewhere safe I hope," Hermione said, opening the door to Rose's nursery. The toddler looked up from her nap.

"Muma, Dada," she exclaimed happily, reaching up for her parents.

"There's my little Rose girl," Severus said, scooping her up into his arms.

"Rosie meet yellow hair man. He give Rosie pretty dress," Rose stated.

"I heard about your new dress, Rose. You said a man with yellow hair gave it to you?"

"Yes! He had long yellow hair, longer than Dada," she added. Hermione nearly burst out laughing.

"That explains part of it at least. She fell asleep as soon as she returned, so I didn't get a chance to question her. So, which Malfoy do you think she saw?"

"The better question is, why would either Malfoy have a Slytherin dress in Rose's size?" Severus muttered as Rose wiggled from her mum's arms and happily toddled down the hall, still babbling about the man with yellow hair.
