The Mighty Ducks Re-Imagined I: The Mighty Ducks

Time-line: The fight in the locker room and the meeting at the diner.

Synopsis: After the rest of the team mutinies, Charlie goes to drastic measures till an unexpected meeting at the diner changes things. As the truth comes oit and with it, this changes things for him forever with a meeting. Between him and the man that becomes his future coach, as the season changes.

And they become the champions they are meant to be.

Warnings: This is going to be a re-imagining of the Mighty Ducks trilogy as Charlie meets Orion at the age of 10, as their lives are fused together. As they prepare for what their future brings now, and as Charlie learns the truth. And this soon, that Orion is his real father and he has a life outside of the team.

This is also going to leave out the tv show, so an alternate reality story.

Chapter 1: An Unexpected Meeting And The Truth Comes Out

Working on his homework at the diner his mother worked in Charlie Conway felt someone tap him on the shoulder. "Hey buddy." he heard and turned to see his coach Gordon Bombay. "How did it go, any luck in talking to them?" he asked and Charlie sighed. "I tried to, but they think I'm a traitor for even showing up..., was it true that you used to be a Hawk?" he asked and Gordon nodded. "Yeah it is." he said and Charlie nodded then.

"Peter said you blew a very big shot." he said and Gordon nodded. " Well Peter's right, it was the championship game and I was just fouled, I get a penalty shot. Triple deke, I faked the goalie right out of his pads and it was going in, and then clang." he said and Charlie nodded. "Hit the post and we lost in over time, 1/4 of an inch it would have gone in, a 1/4 of an inch, Charlie." he said and Charlie nodded to him gently as he said it.

"Yeah but a 1/4 of an inch the other way and you would have missed completely." he said and Gordon nodded as he thought it over and then realized he was right. "I never thought about it like that before, thanks buddy." he said and Charlie noded, before he could go further then his mother Casey came over then. "Hey Gordon." she said and he smiled then. "Cup of coffee?" she asked and he nodded as he answered her gently.

"Thank you, I'd like one." he said and she moved away from them. "Alright wise guy don't say it for all I know is her ex boyfriend if they're still on good terms. Said is hanging around here right now." he said and they heard a chuckle from the spectators listening to conversation. "There should be a way to fix this unless..., was there a camera in the hall you were in?" he asked and Gordon nodded and he smiled as his mother came then.

"Hey guys, I got an idea, I'm going to Uncle Hank, but I saw a picture of another boy that looks like me standing next to you in your locker, who was that?" Charlie asked and he said it quickly. "That's my best friend Ted Orion, Charlie." he said and Charlie smiled and he nodded. "Stand by, but you think you could get him, he holds your place till we get this fixed." he asked and Gordon nodded as Casey smiled at his idea then.

"Too late son, I was just getting off work at the academy." they heard as Casey looked up at that and then de-aged him and then smiled. "Ted, boy am I glad to see you honey." she said and he smiled gently. "Old friend mom?" Charlie asked and the man chuckled. "You could say that son, your mother was my girlfriend in high school to college, before I got picked by the North Stars." He said and he nodded in amazement then gently.

"Boyfriend, so instead of possibly a connection between us, I leave and..., no you're not serious right now, did you Ted?!" he said, dropping his tone and he nodded. "That letter was a sore subject, we took a step back, I wasn't sure why she'd do that." he said softly and she sighed. 'I have to tell him now, this way if Gordon leaves for a bit, he has his father still right now.' she thought gently as he looked at her gently as he said it smiling.

"How are the quintet right now?" he asked and she smiled then. "They're good, they all got kids now, but his entire team is composed of himself, and the sextet. Jason had two, but Constance, she prefers the nickname Connie, Jesse and Terry, Lester, Gregory and Guy." she said and he nodded to her. "The Monroes, Halls, Avermans, Goldbergs and Tremaines, we've been friends, since we were no older older then you in truth, son."

"Your mother and I started dating when we were 14, so 7 years together, I just never knew this, part, if you're mine now. Then the little monsters that had a case of causing a mutiny right now, but this is not what they think. His remark, and of if you make it is, and becomes if you are to make it to the playoffs and Adam could be a very big help." he said sternly and Charlie nodded slowly as he answered him then quickly at the remark.

"So Peter lied to us, he did this, because the team was starting to follow me right now in truth, Coach never picked who was team leader, not yet. But we added 3 more and our current problem caused a strike on the team." Charlie said sternly and they both nodded gently at that. "So question would you consider that if you made that decision and I agree with you and Fulton with me as we're traitors, if it's not him, but you our fathers."

"As they're the traitors, you all decided on the same thing and no matter who of you made this decision and Fulton and I agree with you?" he said and he said it firmly. "That's what they think hmm, well these kids need a reality check right now, if there are girls. Now on this team, we need a top rate shooter in all truth, but if we make it now, to the play offs, is rephrased in our eyes as 'if we are to make it to the playoffs and Banks."

"Now, in truth now, he could be a big help.'." he said and Charlie crossed his arms, now hearing the rephrase for what it was then gently. "So it doesn't matter which of you came to this choice, the decision still stands right now?" he asked and Orion nodded gently. "Dead man walking here right now, I'm making that clear, if it was their fathers that came to that decision Fulton and I agree with them, will they still call us traitors."

"When we side with you, our parents right now, this is about you, our parents, and mentor right now in all truth." he said and several adults turned to them. "You got to be kidding, they called you a traitor for thinking about the safety of the girls?!" one patron in the diner said in shock. "Anyone else listening to this?" he asked they chuckled gently. "Wise guy and yes we are, baby." the diner matron said gently and he hid a smile then.

"Fulton and I lead the charge on our jerseys, we went against the whole team, but now they call us a traitor." he said and they both nodded sternly then. "The girls, you get hit hard enough they start too soon, but that spot, if ruptured can kill." The cop said sternly and he nodded. "So it wouldn't matter if any of you took the position, Fulton protects the girls, we focus on the scoring, we need Adam?" he said and they all nodded gently then.

"Every adult who has a girl thinks this that if these guys are getting too darn rough then the one who is the strongest of the team should protect them. And till we get him a counterpart enforcer it doesn't matter if it's Gordon, or just us. And as a total stranger, or just your own fathers, it doesn't matter here who the coach is, if they're like us. The decision is always the same, and they call you a traitor for siding with our thinking, ha."

"Young man, do you realize in who the hell you're talking too here?" a man dressed in a cop uniform said sternly at that remark and he nodded. "Not quite right now, in being strangers Hank, and great to see you again man." the man next to him said and she chuckled as he smiled as he shook his hand with a smile. "You too Ted, good to see you again right now." he said gently at that remark as Charlie explained it then gently to him.

"Uncle Hank, you had to arrest these idiots one too many times right now, you know what Peter is like, but though the tough guy right now..." he said and Jacobs and his partner nodded sternly. "Yeah he's close to junevile hall, this brat has a real problem with adult authority and David Karp is following his lead." Jacobs said and the coach nodded. "That bad?" he asked sternly and he sighed. "Worse, Ted." he said with a sigh then firmly.

"This idiot has a real problem with authority, but you would think after getting his mental school bell rung he would see this was completely logical in the eyes. And of you guys as adults and with 2 girls on the team after taking that puck right to the head." he said and waitress next to his mother nodded. "Yeah no kidding, but if that never knocked some sense into him and nothing will." the man at the other end of the counter said sternly.

"I can't believe he did that right now, young man are you trying to put yourself in the hospital for brain damage." Gordon said sternly at that remark. "He took that puck right to the head and then collapsed, but the area hit just happened now. To be right at the forehead Ted, but Peter made another smart alec response and I told him to knock it off." he said and Orion nodded sternly to the news as Charlie nodded sternly then to that.

"Paraphrased here as 'shut up Peter'." he said and Gordon nodded. "Well we were making progress, before they dropped the bomb, here on this in truth now. But you just told me of said blown shot here right now." he said and Gordon nodded. "Never lost a season in 19 years, and I'm taking him down several pegs for once. So we win this season, and they get put in 2nd place several more times, before the 8th grade right now."

"In addition to our next gig, and that's your ticket into the academy, as in the words of our future goalie. If Jackson never made JV slot and you guys did, then he probably wasn't good enough, if we beat them 3 times. That's 3 times in 4 years as you enter junior high level to high school, state champs, please. Try being global champs, we're good, but with your father's training right now, you're beyond good right now,"

"To answer that is Jackson is Jackson Riley, he's a winger." he said and Orion noded getly to the news then. "And with that, it's all work and not a chance to take his mind off his own pain here, so with that, uh dad, is Jared Banks one of your players, dad?" he asked and he nodded gently. "Well they're emotionally in pain, Jared told me he's trying to hold it together, Adam's feeling the same, but if they can't see this right now."

"He's not a bad guy, he's trying to bury his pain by acting like a hotshot right now, but if these idiots are not looking at this like this now. Then their arrogance from that tie game went right to their heads, along with the concussion. I was thinking this over till I looked at this from your point of view and told them there could be more. But after I suggested that blow to the head damaged his thinking, that did it." he said and the duo nodded.

"He blocked the shot with his head?!" the cop said sternly and he nodded. "Yeah he did and after seeing Fulton's shot you would think, if they try to sue us for a whiplash. These idiots in the Hawks would have the common sense to get out of the way. Before they get knocked in there with the puck here." he said and he nodded. "After 20 broken windows in 6 weeks, yeah I agree with that right now." he said and everyone started laughing.

"Just wait till our new piece sees this in action after it bounces off the trashcan, over the fence and hits the windshield next." Gordon said with a chuckle and they nodded smiling. "Well after a direct demonstration of the dangers of being in the line of fire, you'd think they'd have the common sense to get out of the way here. As for this, getting in your heads, I realized why you need to come to this, but after trying to explain this."

"The insult here of with us or against us, but I would never openly defy you guys right now, especially if you're more to me then I think here. To put this bluntly it's the argument that Crusher had with Locarno, but I just jumped his move. Before these idiots get us in trouble and put in detention right now for a fight in class. But that sweater, you're a high school teacher, there's my out now in this." he said and he smiled sternly.

"Yeah I just got out of practice right now with Bank's team at the current moment, and came here in time to hear the conversation. Your mother's been working here for 15 years right now, but Fridays and Saturdays off in truth. But with my possibly becoming your new coach, in addition to your father, I can drop in. And touch bases with your mother starting now in all truth." he said and Charlie nodded as she answered that then.

"You just gave me my out on this dad, in truth, what's your age level?" he said and he smiled. "That's just out of peewees to 16." he said and Charlie smiled in delight at that. "Perfect, Coach just started, you're a real one, you know what to do, so you make it clear in our directive here, they're never going to see this. As it doesn't matter, could be you, could be coach or their fathers, it's over." he said and the matron started laughing then.

"Yes it could me, the guys or Gordon, they are never going to win this argument, you were being a true captain, and siding with us, your mentor. We're your mentor, coach, and surrogate father, in my case, your real, but this is like giving us the finger. Alright so let me get this straight, if you side with us, you and Reed are traitors?" he said and Charlie nodded as Casey crossed her arms sternly as she answered that remark then.

"You got to be kidding, they're calling you a traitor, because you sided with our way of thinking, Connie and Tammy, if they get hit hard enough. That could start it too soon if they get hit in the uterus!" Casey snapped and he nodded. "Yeah I know that, but the girls never thought of that part, these idiots in the hawks don't see them as girls. But like us now, in trying to explain this he called me a traitor." he said and she nodded sternly.

"What caused it baby?" Casey asked and he explained that. "He was eavesdropping on a conversation between Coach and Reilly, I was going on a guess. But there had to be a reason for this option he made this choice, but if you're in your first year. And of coaching yourself, but Reilly is Jack Reilly, if you're also a Hawk?" he asked and Orion nodded gently. "So what if we are, nothing wrong with us." he said and Charlie nodded gently.

"Ted, I was late and double checked, he's your's, the paternity test came back positive after a trip to the hospital, he's your's baby. Rick is his adoptive father now in truth, but he, Charlie, is your son, honey." she said and he nodded as he felt his heart make a painful thump at that. 'She didn't want me to give up my shot, after all that time right now, she was scared to tell me, afraid I wouldn't want to raise my son, it's okay Casey.'

'I understand, I'm not angry, I never was, I was hurt you'd leave me, but I want this, I want it so much.' he thought as he said it then. "Late, this was about my shot, I just got picked and you didn't want to let me give it up. You had to make sure right now, honey, sweetie, I gave it up last year after my daughter was hurt?" he asked and she nodded. "The guys leave next year." Gordon said and he nodded with a sigh of relief then gently.

"These kids have no clue whatever changes you do, makes you who you are right now, but thinking I have only one and instead I learn I have a son now, yeah. Then I'm glad I quit, I get these next 8 to 9 years with him and he and his sister meet now. They got each other, but if these two think what you would have said to me. Then it's they're being put on OSS till they stop acting like a 5 year old." he said to him gently and he nodded.

"So if I got this right you and mom took a step back, after you got your shot right now, and remained in contact, since then. It's not till now that we both find out I was that reason, well with our relationship, if you're his best friend..." he said and she shook her head then smiling. "Family friend, borderline godfather, yeah I got that son." he said with a chuckle and the man nodded smiling gently at that remark then as he went further.

"School coach?" he asked and the man nodded gently to him. "I am, I work as a high school hockey, the JV in truth here right now at the academy now. So been playing for 2 years, son?" he asked and he nodded. "We weren't doing so good, till Coach got us started and we actually managed a tie game between us and the Cardinals. But after checking records, going on a guess here, he realized Banks was supposed to be with us."

"Something weird is going on, if he's hanging around with these guys, but Peter and Karp are his version of us in the Hawks, the way he said that, by that I mean Karp. But he's not a Duck, he's a Hawk wearing a Duck jersey in my direct opinion. Peter with him right now in truth, but these idiots are the biggest troublemakers in the team. Used to dealing with preteens to teenagers, well that helps right now at the current moment now."

"Then again they're stuck in the past right now, if you're acting as assistant coach for our team now, but as Captain of the team there are a few things you need to know. Before you meet these idiots face to face right now, these boneheads never learned this before. So why start now in all truth, you're a high school teacher as the older we get now and the sterner you need to be, for the 7 of us, that's the sextet and me now in truth here."

"We don't mind, you practically raised us yourself, so for the rest of us we love you now, as we saw you as a father, so for the sextet, me and the trio. It's that's not a problem, but the biggest troublemakers on this team are the last of the 12 of us currently. Peter Marks has a very dangerous habit of eavesdropping on private conversations here. And misinterepreting the meaning of that said conversation here, while Dave Karp now."

"He comes up with some very sick pranks, the latest it was a wonder he never caused a car accident, but these idiots are the ones that lead the mutiny." he said and Orion nodded. 'Just getting to know me and already he's filling me in on what I need to know on these troublemakers. My 10 year old son, he's letting me handle this, before they distract him into blowing it if that's what happened in the first Hawk/Duck game now.'

'Alright gentlemen, this picking on my son is coming to an end right now, as I'm three things at once here at the moment, but coach, teacher and parent. So want to cross me, once you start at the academy, not if, but when, and you're getting me. And as far stricter then you remember, as you're outside of the school system now. But inside once we get the entire team those scholarships.' he thought sternly as he answered him then.

"This is my first year as coach, but being a single man with no kids, is completely different to being a parent and teacher. When you're a coach, but Ted has more experience to handle that then I do." Gordon said and he nodded gently. "I quit last year as a player and took a teaching and coaching job under Buckley right now. At the academy Gordon, so I can handle being your basic teacher and Coach here now."

"So what can I expect once I take over as assistant coach?" he asked and Charlie crossed his arms. "The conversation we would have exchanged after you told us time to change here, but to these idiots, they don't want to grow up. But me, I know I got a baby sister, I have to now as I have a life outside of the team. So with that, after said game results in a brawl now, these idiots don't get that our plays right now won't work at that level."

"Us as Ducklings at our current age as Ducklings is done, we're teenage ducks and we need to change that playbook, but those jerseys were given to us. The new ones, as this version is basically saying duckling right now, the new set is teenage ducks. But a mixture of the old team and the new team, the 7 of us are old ducks, the sextet. They are new ducks once we become your version and that's a case of get the news ones."

"We got to earn them back and me my title, but unlike these idiots, you and I are faking this, that entire 2.5 months, you and me, like any father with his teenage son. But you know my acting out, the attitude with you is because I had it with Jared's team. Connie and the quintet know I'm faking that change of personality till Fulton and I come back. As the final stage of our plan kicks into gear, so just say this is after a case of hazing now."

"That results in a brawl and you break up the fight, but the said grudge match was to get them so overly confident they're going to beat us. Till we reveal how good we've become under you right now, so with that in mind, we're your team. So to them, the exchange is going to be here, once you tell us to take off the new ones as our originals. They're now just basic jerseys, these we use when we start school and as your own team now."

"To these idiots they're going to refuse, but there are only two options as we got to earn those back right now. But I never went against you in 4 years I'm not starting now in truth and the others with me, but these idiots now. They get in trouble enough and you're stripping them of several things." he said and Orion nodded sternly to that. "Not least of which is their continued time in remaining active, this in the school now."

"Student first over the athlete, and at the current moment, if your tutor says this she's right if we get chosen for something else, but school is optional. However, if you do not attend and keep those grades up and you will not be eligible to play. So to me the GPA is B's or better and with you guys this young still, stay clear of the toxic chemicals. You never minded before, but your mother and me gave specific orders to you now."

"To stay clear of the toxic chemicals and keep your grades up so you can continue playing now, that's not a problem right now, as I spent 4 years raising you. And you turned into a teenge me by that point now." he said and he smiled and she chuckled. "Well to these idiots now, you're breaking up the best thing any of us ever had." he said and Orion said it firmly. "Well it's time to grow up." he said firmly and Charlie said it firmly to him.

"And to say it out loud, and sorry..., dad, but grow up, like you, yeah a washed out pro having to show off to a bunch of kids, yeah that's real grown up." he said and the older man said it in stern finality. "Alright good bye Marks, anyone else?" he said and they ended it at that firmly. "You're not hearing that in my voice, but in Peter's, Peterson Marks and David Karp." he said and Orion nodded gently at the news then to him.

"And repeating what you would have said is it's time to grow up, but no one is forcing either of them to be there, it's their lives, they choose what to make of it. Then again to them after they see none of us make a muscle to join them, or say anything. And to them it's so much for friendship, this is the same as saying you want to go somewhere. And be somebody, well then you better wake up and pay attention starting now."

"Our relationship after 4 years right now, just what does he take me for a complete idiot, there are things on you guys I know that no one else does. As the truth comes out, even before they cross the line in remarks right now, not an only child. But a big brother, I got to grow up and take care of my baby sister, she's my world. These idiots are trapped in the past, I move on now and become the me you know, she's 5 years old right now."

"At that age, I'm close to being on babysitting duty, a couple more years and if you guys want to go out for the night, I can take care of her for a few hours, dad. She's got me all her life now, leading into when I start college right now. There are more important things to me then these idiots know, my family, my soulmate. Whoever it is and soon enough making a choice between leaving here or doing school here right now in truth now."

"But you better make it clear here, because in his eyes, once we switch the jerseys out, he's going to know one door shut and another opened. Our time as who we used to be is over and in their place are our new version of the team. That team becomes your version as we switch players and start a new life now, under you. As our new coach, so new school, new teacher, friends, but we still got you." he said gently and they nodded then.

"In which case, the team is a gang, a gang a family, so for us, it's come home, it's come home to the team, to you, and these idiots don't get that, not yet. So sure, new school, new teachers and new friends, but we still got each other, and you, we'll be okay. But that's just their problem, they don't get that, not yet, but I sure do as I know. You're waiting for me to come back and then comes the big one, but why leave at all right now."

"When I created a life for myself at the academy, and I have a girlfriend, we made some friends with our class version of her club. And their adult leader, in whatever sport he does, if he's like you in truth at the moment. But come on right now, these idiots never consider this, so say the guys are either out of town. Or bail, all of this was a trap, till the said game between us and your ex team." he said and he nodded with smile gently.

Pressing his forehead to his, Charlie closed his eyes and she smiled. 'Responds the same way every time I do that with him, Ted tries it, and he does it with him. Yeah no matter how old he gets, our baby boy, still just a cub with us, no matter how old he gets.' she thought smiling as Orion stroked his hand through the hair at the back of his head. 'Yeah my baby boy, that's him alright, going to be okay, baby.' he thought softly then to him.

As he ran his hand through the hair at the back of his head gently. "And this is the you I know, so though your godfather is out of town, I can complete your training. In this right now in this case, but these boys that keep getting you in trouble. They are facing a more stern coach, but they are not forcing me out, not when I just got you back." he said and Charlie smiled as he explained it to him gently as he went over it then to him.

"But I got a 5 year old daughter, Karen, so he's mine, only one way to find out, but you leave, in case the guys offer you a shot in the minors. And I can take over and train them Gordon, this gives him an added several with me now finally. As I get to watch his next 8 to 9 years as he gets older." he said and Charlie smiled at that, realizing the man was his biological father then. "You're my father?!" he said smiling and they nodded gently then.

"You're the exact replicate of me when I was your age, kiddo." Ted Orion said to him and he smiled. "Well this is going to give Reilly a shock when he sees me with my helmet off." he said smiling and and they nodded. "Just what was said here, if you decided to get me involved right now?" he asked gently and he sighed. "When Fulton and I decided to go out, they think we're a traitor for siding with you." he said and they nodded in shock.

"They called you a traitor, because you chose us, we're your parents for gods sakes, our age group, who raised you, taught you everything. You ever needed to know, and what if there was more to that conversation then he thought?" he asked and Charlie nodded. "Reacted too soon, but are you also a Hawk?" he asked and Orion nodded. "After that game I quit along with him, as I got training with better coaches then Reilly ever was."

"We left this idiot, because we both knew this, but that season shoved the point home right now in truth, we don't leave now. And we become the teenage to college age player that put the opposing team member in the hospital. As he effectively could have killed this kid, if he didn't come out of the coma he was in right now. But being a Hawk and staying with Reilly, is a one way ticket to prison." he said sternly and Charlie nodded.

"Dad what would your reason be for adding Banks, and we got two girls on the team, as you're also an ex Hawk?" he asked and Orion crossed his arms. "That Fulton should focus more on defense and you and the others, on offense cub." he said and Charlie nodded. "Coach was that your thinking, we need Fulton on protection duty and Adam focuses on offense and us with him?" he asked and Gordon nodded gently at that remark then.

"Yeah that's the reason alright in truth, till we get Fulton an added counterpart enforcer right now, he's the strongest of the team. But we do another forfeit, and this destroys where this championship leads for you." he said to him and his eyes narrowed then. "Well these idiots never considered that, but it's so what if the girls are left unprotected, we don't need Banks." he said and they both nodded sternly as he answered him then.

"Ducksworth fires me for choosing you guys and I'm suing the firm, but the look on Reilly's face after I guessed right, was enough to say it. Banks's sister has leukemia, he, that's Adam's father, he's trying to raise the money by placing a certain amount. And of money on each goal they make." he told them and they nodded in shock. "Then we help him out, we win this season, and that's it, but the last game of the season is Reilly."

"But to them, it's so what if the girls are unprotected, we don't need Adam." he said and Orion nodded. "Well they walk out that door, in my eyes, we forfeit the rest of the season, they ever consider this championship could be what turns your life around. As you become so good, whoever is willing to offer scholarship here right now. And to any private school in the city, but you drop out of the running your future never happens."

"They say we don't, well I say we do, but these guys got a more stern coach getting involved, but what this little brat says is nailing the coffin shut. And once we get the paternity test ran as that's your mother and my personal life. That we're talking about here now, Gordon, go, I'll take over, but we're calling a team meeting, if you dragged me. Now, into the conversation." he said and Gordon nodded as Charlie sighed in relief.

That he was saying that. "But this is like saying you know to you right now, when you know more and you're a skilled hockey player right now." he said sternly and Orion nodded sternly. "Or just giving us the finger and even that's enough to get them put on restriction and for a month right now." Casey said to him and he nodded. "Yeah, but I don't care if they are annoyed that I chose to do this right now in truth here, guys."

"But just made the correct decision by actually getting to the bottom of this right now in truth, but you just said captain in everyway you can say it.
