Rising Flames
Prologue: Up in Flames
"The brightest flame casts the darkest shadow."
-George R. R. Martin
Heat. Warmth. Pain. Agony.
Fire can be described using so many ways, positive and negative ways.
It can be described as sacred new, liquid and gorgeously brilliant, mighty, enthusiastic, and undoubtedly magical.
But today, a cold and snowy day in December, all it could be described as was deaf and frantic, dead, and drowsy, a sparkling phantom, eerily hot, horrific incoming, and murderous and incessant.
The house was engulfed in flames, seeming as soon as it was on fire. Nothing could stop it. The little girl managed to escape without any burns, cuts, scratches.
The fire crackled, that was the only sound heard in the night as the fire burned the house down and the people left inside as well.
Soon the ear shattering sound of a scream was heard as the sirens could be heard in the distance. The little girl who had escaped and had to watch her family burn with the house, was screaming her heart out, the worry and fear deep in her soul as she noticed her hands had fire coming out of them.
Her thoughts swirled around her.
'Did I start this?'
'Is this my fault?'
'Why do I have this flames or fire power? Was I cursed?'
She never heard when the fire trucks pulled up or when the EMTs were trying to get her attention and get her up. She was just fixated on the fire and where her parents now laid, dead.
All she could feel was this burning inside her fade as the fire died down from burning so long and the water from the fire trucks.
Her life as she knew it was gone. She had to rebuild.
But how could she with this monstrosity of a power living inside for her, ready to take more lives if she lost control.
Fear was all that she felt.
*I am trying my Hand at a Marvel Fanfic when I am used to Anime more than anything so be nice, but any feedback is nice. I am trying to get the timing and timeline of stuff from the movies correct and the new tv series Loki, so I do not own any of it, but I am watching it as I write this to refresh. Any mess-ups let me know :)*
