Primary Characters: Virgil Tracy, Scott Tracy
Genre: General
Virgil was ever the passenger to Scotty's games of "let's play pilot!" when they were both at much tender ages. His older brother always had his eyes pointed towards the skies, and Virgil can read Scott as easily as a blueprint.
It has always been Scott's dream to follow in their father's footsteps. To make him proud.
Today is a big day. Underneath Scott's ever-growing restlessness about the exposure they are bringing to International Rescue today (what if a rescue comes in? What if something happens and all of our technology and personnel (read: family) is there?), Virgil senses the buzz of excitement, the thrill of awe, but the gentle sigh of sadness in his brother's words.
"That was Dad's record she just broke."
"And no one would be more excited to see it broken than him," he affirms, filling his words with pride for their father, for his brother, for the feats of humanity that make the impossible possible.
In another life, Scott would've been in the air breaking records, would've been the one telling aerodynamics just who's boss. But then again – they are International Rescue – they do that every day. And every life saved, as the next few minutes remind them, is just another facet of their father's dreams.
