Hi
Enjoy!
Headlights piercing the night ahead, Lindir drived on the road almost deserted at this hour, with the noise of the rain hitting the old 4x4 and the radio. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, and had to bite back a smile. In his head, flashbacks of his afternoon passed one after the other, yet he kept his focus on the black band in front of him. His tongue ran on his lower lip, he had stopped counting how many times he had subconsciously done that, chasing a taste that wasn't his.
He let out a satisfied sigh and half tossed his stabilo : his work of the week-end was finally over.
-Wanna go for walk?
At those words, the white dog got up from the couch and left the room, his master following him. Lindir didn't bother to take the leash with him, he just grabbed a tennis ball, his keys and told his dad he was out with the dog before leaving. They take the "road" in the middle of the fields, the Swiss Shepherd's shoulder just next to his master's leg. They walked like that on the dusty pass for half an hour, before Lindir sat down on an old wooden fence, wondering how it could send his weight, and threw the ball in the grass, Jazz running off after it and coming back to bring it to the high school student. They played like that for a while together, just enjoying the quiet sunny autumn afternoon, until the phone vibrated in the young man's pocket. Seeing who texted him, he bit his lip, not fully able to contain his smile.
«Hey~»
«Hey.»
«Is your last time offer still standing?»
«For a coffee? Of course, when you want.»
«Now. 3»
Lindir arched a brow at that, wondering what on earth was the heart doing at the end of the message. He just brought two fingers up to his mouth and whistled Jazz back, his dog came back running, his ball in his mouth and his tail happily wagging.
«O.K. , you have the road to go»
«It's okay, don't worry. Just give me the time to bring back "my wolf" like you say and I'm coming.»
«Yes~Let's say 17h00, It's good for you?»
«yes» He stopped his finger a second but add a «see you later» at his text before sending it
«See you»
-Come on buddy, let's go home.
He put his phone back in his pocket, and took the road back to his home, his dog staying close to him.
Once at his place, he let his dog go drink, put the ball down and hung his keys, before going up. Once in his room, he laid back against the wall, couldn't quite decide if he was a hell of a lucky guy, or an extremely unlucky one. Leaving his spot against the wall, he picked a black and withe outfit, simple yet effective, and a bit different from what he used to wear in school. He liked it. Judging he looked 'good' or more like 'not that bad', he sat down on his bed, running a hand through his long hair out of habit. He checked his phone, bit his lower lip, again, hesitated a brief moment and wrote his text. He was not risking much, at worst the other said "no", he reread himself anyway before tapping 'send'.
«Would you be up for a drive? Or you prefer to stay near your place?»
«Ah? You intrigue me there, alright I'm in. Where are we goin'?»
«You'll see»
Lindir smiled when he saw the sighing emoji of an answer on his screen, followed by another which must be his address. Satisfied, he got up, told his dad he was leaving, patted his dog on the way and put on his leather jacket. It was wide on him, but he loved his jacket, it was heavy, warm and comfortable. He slid his phone along with his wallets inside one of his pockets, grabbed his car's keys and left.
After something like a 15 minutes drive, with the now familiar feel of the wheel under his hand, he pulled his car into a one-way street where he parked, practically at the other end, in front of a gray building. He caught his phone in his pocket, 16h52, and wrote a text : «I'm here (gray 4x4).»
"big car parked in a hurry" was also a good way to put it, but yeah. Lindir put his phone back in his pocket, stretched in his seat and lowered the sound of the radio a bit. A bit later he saw in his rearview mirror a metal gate opened and someone came out.
Dressed in black jeans torn to one knee and a leather jacket he wore open over a denim shirt he hadn't bothered to button all the way up, Thranduil passed the door which slammed softly behind him as it closed.
-Hello, pretty smile.
The other rolled his eyes, but was not able to hide said smile.
-Hey.
The motor purred in their leaves.
-You're gonna tell me where we goin'?
-Drink a coffee.
-Very funny, but seriously.
-You'll see, enjoy the view while waiting.
In the corner of his eye, he noticed the shining blue eyes of his passenger locked on him.
-You have a window on your side you know?
-The view is better on this side.
Usually he would have blushed and turned his head around, half hiding behind his hair. But here he was driving, so he kept his focus on the asphalt strip in front of his hood, and let the car calm him down.
-I could almost believe you.
-Stop thinking that you're common want you? It's not true, far from it.
This time, he felt his fingers unconsciously tighten on the wheel.
-Erm… coming from someone as drop dead gorgeous as you are, it's hard to believe but… Thank you. ...I guess.
A triumphant smirk spread on the tall blond's lips.
-"Drop dead" hein?
-...Just a fact.
At that, he won a small laugh from his passenger. The conversation drifted on it's own. It was this natural between them that he particularly liked - in addition to everything else - and he instinctively followed. More or less twenty minutes later, he left the highway for the city, and the time had never been so short to him. For once, he wouldn't have said no to being stuck in the traffic, just for some minutes more.
-Here comes the fun part : first to find a place won.
-Ah? And what does he earn?
-Victory's pleasure I guess.
-I think I'll have to satisfy myself with that, and a coffee. Behind the blue one.
-Nice.
Both of them hold back a laugh and Lindir parked at the indicated place.
-You're gonna tell me where we goin' now?
-At the coffee shop, the street just behind.
The two got out of the car and walked side by side, hands in their pockets on the cobbled sidewalk, past tall stone buildings until they came to a stop at a door.
-I love coming here.
And with that Lindir pushed the door open for them. They entered, greeted the waitress at the counter, her colleague waving to them from the back of the room, and they left to settle in the room downstairs. At a table in a corner, Lindir's appointed place, and sat on the leather red couch.
-They seemed to know you kinda well.
-Ah, yes. Used to come here a lot, a bit less nowadays.
He shrugged his shoulders.
-But I still have my spot.
The place was cosy, maybe a bit dark, of wood and red leather, pool tables in the back under the light cone of three low lamps aligned above each, and a strong smell of coffee. They made their order when the girl at the counter stopped near them, Lindir handed her his card and she left. They start talking again, stopping only when the girl came back to bring them their steaming drinks to thank her, before resuming. It was easy between them, fluid and enjoyable.
The glitters were dancing anew in Thranduil's sky blue eyes, and the other stayed there, nothing would have made him look away because nothing was more beautiful than this look at the moment . And so he made everything for the moment to last longer, in case it was his only chance, it would help to create memories, memories that would serve as drugs later.
Even as the hours grew late, they ordered another one, but they still dragged it out. Letting the taste of coffee last on the tongues, getting lost a bit too long in the other's eyes, dragged it until their own conversation ceases and the noise of the others fills the room with it's buzz. And some more, before going back to the car. It was dark when they walked through the door and it was raining.
-Erm… you wanna… stop somewhere and grab something to eat?
The tall blond shook his head
-Not really.
With a half smile from his passenger, he left his parking spot and mingled with the late hour traffic.
Unlike earlier, the drive was strangely quiet, with just the sounds of a night ride. Thranduil turned up the volume on the radio, to try to drown the silence, hide this taste of "there is something I didn't tell you" between them. Lindir bit his lower lip, again, his finger tightening a little more around the wheel, when he felt a warm hand covering his own on the gear lever. And just like that, the air inside grew lighter, as the rain poured down heavily outside and the headlights pierced the night. Arriving in town, he slowed down, holding back an annoyed 'tsk' of the time that sometimes flew too fast, and he pulled into the one-way street, parking practically at the other end, biting a bit on a square. delivery. He paused, letting Hotel California fill the silence inside, as the city lights outside cast eerie shadows over them.
-If you want to kidnap me, now is your last chance pretty smile.
-Don't tempt me too much. ...But, If you want to… I can come back again…
Lindir kept his gaze straight ahead, waiting for the clic! of the seatbelt, and the noise of the door closing behind this shockingly handsome guy. It wasn't a date, or maybe it was just in his head, he wouldn't get anything else from the other. Hearing the click! he had to hold back a sigh.
-Good evening to you then.
His only answer was the tip of fingers against his jaw, sliding to the other side and turning his head. Instinctively, he bowed his head and pressed his cheek against the warm hand, to plant his gaze in the eyes oh so blue of his opposite. He came a little closer, the other mimicking the gesture, a second where they both asked each other for permission and they were on each other's lips. It was warm, slow, strangely possessive and kind of eager, something that was them. The hand on his cheek drew him closer, as close as they could be in the car, and he lay a hand on his shoulder. And one kiss became two, then three, again and again with something almost playful, against the backdrop of Hotel California, rain and the noise of motr in the distance. It was only when Thranduil gave a little lick on his lips that a backed only far enough to whisper :
-Let's go out together. I love you.
The kiss he recieve in response was worth all the "yes" and the "I love you too", drowning in the small surprised "oh" that escaped him. And he gladly let go in the warmth, affection and want of the other.
-Good evening.
The "to you too" was half silenced against his lips.
He smiled, his own eyes glittering too, and followed the tall blond getting out of the car, and walked with long strides towards the door of his building, head bowed in the rain.
Once in his house, he looked at the text he received on the way,and his gaze sparkled instantly.
It was a picture of Thranduil, a close up on his mouth, jaw and neck. He was sticking his tongue out at the camera, but that didn't hide the fact that his lips were curving upwards.
«Your lips taste like caramel.»
